Sargent Solow nods and whisper to himself "They seem to be getting along better" He turns to his troops and then orders "March forward" The Lastwall scouts then wander off marching quickly behind the Sargent.

Chardak stalks over to the halfling newcomer. "I am Chardak. There will be fighting when we go for the woman and child. Will you fight?" The half-orc stares at Lyle as if his answer is very important indeed.

As the soldiers depart Chardak walks over to Karthan. "Are you truly a battleleader among your people? They did not respect you, nor stay to help us rescue your people. I have seen you fight. Curse them as cowards and enemies and after we rescue the child and woman I will help you hunt them down, and we can show them Gorum's glory and share the spoils."

His tone is flat, not scornful or challenging; it's an honest offer.

"Fight? Aye. My wife serves me well enough," the halfling says holding up his longspear. "My talents lie more in the use of magic, however." He turns to the group as a whole. "Well met, all of you. I thank you for letting this halfling join you."

We could try to trade the orc for the woman and girl, but Chardak's not likely to suggest depriving Anna of her slave. :)

The female orc who has been awfully quiet says in orc [spoiler=orc]"I do not want to go back because then they will beat me and view me as weak."

"The other...orcs?" Lyle asks with a wondering look on his face. "The ones were heading to deal with...?"

Paying attention to Karthan finally, Nesteruk shrugs.

They are in a highly defensive position and in the dark, any attempt at stealth is likely to go awry. We should simply launch another attack- but we'll stay in a tight formation, with your lance at the front until the fight is joined. I'll also use... the full extent of my talents this time. No holding back.

Chardak nods approvingly. "Battle upends the wisest plans. Let us see the enemy and decide then."

Right so if Chardak and Nesteruk are next to Karthan's Bardiche that should covoer any charging orcs. Any other ideas? Light sources? We have a bullseye lantern? Do we have a way to creat bright light and mess with their light sensitivty?

Before entering the cave, Nesteruk carefully produces an exotic-looking flask and downs the contents. His already impressive physique fills out further as his muscles begin to bulge against his armour, barely held in check.

His large hands grip his greataxe tightly and his pupils seem abnormally enlarged, his gaze a little glazed over.

Lets get on with this... he growls, not nearly as softly as his usual mannered self.

back. Oh Chardak did you take Symas thieves tools they were still on the body. No one has a bullseye lantern. Funnily enough There are some outside the gate of southwatch on swivel mounts that turn slowly. Hmm alchemical way to create bright light still might be low enough to create an item but should be more expensive than regular oil and need a lantern. Might burn quicker as well.

Took everything except the rapier and his clothes.

Jondor says a brief prayer to Pharasma and then says to the group, "I'm ready to proceed."

I plan to dive a little more cautiously, after seeing how nearly every falchion blow connected with my pretty decent AC19 last time :P.

The walk in morning to the cave seems calm and without much going on. The orc prisoner did not follow this time. the cave entrance seems to have the same. Entering the cave to the sight of the previous battle the party finds the red bloodied footprint and everything mostly the same except for the corpses start to smell in the cave the tiniest bit.

Continuing on the party finds a point where the cave narrow and some slippery looking slime is on the ground but a dagger appears. Past this the party seems to have found an area where the opens up.

assuming light spell anyone take the dagger?

Agreed, Karthan was declared as being in the middle. Map is a better size now :) (I still recommend Maptools though, would save you time i'm sure).

I did these crit on a 19-20 but I rolled a 20 which crit threats on everything. also Anna your turn.

Oh well, that sucks. I hate it when the die roller gives GM's high rolls.
