She then casts a spell to bring in an ally to fight with them, hoping to distract the dragon from her mates.

Hammer misses as the dragon rises, then fires some magic at it, but the missiles fade away as they approach the dragon!

Lia gets Lao to drop the arrow in her hand, which she hands to Ares.

The dragons mutters something and the plants around Maffei, Hammer, and Rey begin to grow and entwine upon their legs! DC 13 or entangled The dragon then begins flying toward the back of the cave.

With a double move, Rey moves out of the area of effect but can only watch the dragon retreat. Frustrated, he tries the true name again.

As the dragon flies backward, Bard Ares spots a weak spot in the dragon's armor-like scales. Taking a deep breath, the warpriest takes careful aim and looses the arrow. The arrow arcs across the wide chasm then plunges into the dragon's underside! The dragon lets out a roar of agony, shaking the entire chamber as it plummets to the ground. With a loud, echoing thud, the dragon crashes into the ground, its body battered and broken. Szagni lifts his head weakly to glare at the party then breathes his last breath, rivulets of acid dripping from his sagging maw!

With the dragon defeated,you are able to search the dragon's lair, finding the dragon's treasure horde, as well as the druid's captive wife, Rima.

Within the hoard, you find Rima has spent much of her time of late resting on a large mound of furs, one of which is a finely-preserved chimera fur worth 900 gp.

Aeteperax kept his large collection of books (roughly two-thirds of which were recently looted from the monastery’s various libraries) in six 5-foot-wide wooden lockers.. The hundreds of books in these chests (all with names like Codex of the Ebon Depths, Grimoire of Impossible Secrets, Kargeth’s Blackest Encyclopaedia, and so on) are worth a total of 12,000 gp. Each chest weighs 250 pounds when full of books. (In addition to granting a +6 competence bonus on all Knowledge [arcana, geography, history, planes, and religion] checks attempted while using them as resources, their pages detail additional magical rituals—including the one Aeteperax performed to open the rift he uses to access to the Dark Tapestry.

The party returns to Belhaim, meeting the druid along the way who is eternally grateful for being reunited with his wife. Upon learning of the party's slaying of the dragon, the town erupts in a flurry of activity, preparing a hero's feast and week long holiday in your honor.

Baroness Devy holds a special ceremony, naming all of you Knights of Belhaim....

After the ceremony, Maffei wishes you all a long and prosperous adventuring career and returns home to the Plane of Shadow.....

Had a sudden flashback to a book where the dragon was being held captive by the princess, with her sleeping on furs in comfort while the dragon slept on hard stone. And the dragon's hoard wasn't two-thirds books, but was rather butterflies. "Blue Moon Rising" by Simon R. Green if anyone is interested. Thought it was a fun read.

Hammerfist gets suitably drunk, and grumbles, repeatedly.

Rey also gets suitably drunk.
And does a fair amount of wenching.

Ares will join in the drinking, but then works on a letter to his parents saying he will be heading home to buy them a new farm!

Dragon hoards really are as lucrative as they say.
