Koemi uses a scroll and shots fire from her hands, but the centipede seem to evade most of the flame.
Faldoc fires an arrow and puts down a centipede.
Morgrim and Arryn manage to both land blows on the final centipede, taking it down.
Out of Combat
As the party catches their breath from the battle, you notice Arpani’s box, which he left in his haste. Also the centipedes bodies disappear, leaving a small statue lying on the ground. This statue is 6 inches tall and weighs 1 pound. It resembles a centipede curved around a branch or twig.
The box contains the following: a potion of barkskin +2, an oil of bless weapon, and a potion of cure light wounds. It also contains a piece of paper that looks much like a shopping list of arcane items with notations next to each one. Halfway down the list is noted “Osirian statuette—GT.”
Morgrim Stonewall
|
Do any of the other items on the list have "GT" by them? Is there any sort of pattern to the notations - all two letters, repeated 'words', etc.?
"I wonder what the 'GT' marking means. It cannot be who he bought it from, that was 'MC' - 'Matzal Chaim'."
Arryn Wildblood

We attempted no violence. Surely the man ran from a guilty conscience - and from the knowledge he possessed stolen goods.
He turns to the gnome.
My apologies your goal to speak with the man did not go as intended.
Koemi Rainbowfizzle
|
Accepted. One thing is sure though, i won´t carry any of those statues! Can you help me look for some of his bells here? They will make a fine dreamcatcher!
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Guess I can carry the cursed thing, I don't plan on spinning any magic. Faldoc will take the statue if offered. Strange how 'GT' could be 'Grandmaster Torch', doesn't it? Faldoc chuckles after the last statement.
Koemi Rainbowfizzle
|
Koemi will craft a dreamcatcher out of the bells and other random stuff she finds there. After attaching it somewhere on the place where she feels the energy is right, she will suggest to visit the two persons on the other plaza that was close together.
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Faldoc looks at the dreamcatcher, shrugs, and then says Might as well visit the next ones on the list. Hopefully their statues won't do anything crazy.
Koemi Rainbowfizzle

Mh might be if they cast something. Let´s check that Nasir Tandir out. In a different language that sounds like nose animal. I wonder how his nose looks like.
| GM Tektite |
The heads through the streets toward the Overmarket and the intersection of Candlewood and Zypher. In the Overmarket, the streets are broader, the buildings farther apart, and the alleyways less dark. The spice levels in the air are much more breathable as well. This is the middleclass portion of the Qalli—not as crowded as the Central Market where the poorest of the poor rub elbows with highpowered merchants. The Overmarket almost has the feel of a residential neighborhood, albeit one with many more shops and stalls than houses and apartments.

The party asks around and are pointed in the direction of Naisir's warehouse. Directly inside the front door of Tandir’s low warehouse are two men in the middle of a heated discussion. One, behind the low counter, is a fat, jowly man, looking wary but defiant. The man standing across from him is grizzled but menacing—his body lean but for a sizable paunch and his cheeks scraggly with halfgrown gray beard. The fat man blusters, “I’ve already paid you what you’re owed, Belal. You told me protection would be ten a month, plus another five for the mucks. By those rates I’m paid up through the end of the year!” Belal reaches across the counter and grabs the man by his collar. “Rates have changed, Tandir. I’ve told you that twice now. If you want my protection”—he jerks on the collar—“you’d better pay me the rest.”

And with that Arryn sucker punches the thug behind the ear.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Hoping for a flat footed or something :)
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
D'oh. Forgot to power attack - IF you want to be nice, -1 from my to hit and add 2 to my damage but its your call
Ragathiel has no truck with thugs and extortion artists... and before you think about taking this personally or against this shop keep? Remember who the Lord of Vengence is!
Faldoc Tisbane
|
I like this guy's style, just walks up and punches him in the ear!
Faldoc will ready his bow and will fire at the first sign of additional trouble.
| GM Tektite |
Ok, where were we? Oh yeah, the paladin walks up and sucker punches dude in his ear. I need to check out Ragathiel, god of sucker punches. ;) Arryn gets the PA.
Arryn walks up to the berating man and punches him squarely in the ear. The man reels back, his hands going to his head defensively.

Faldoc will ready his action (attack), waiting to see if we got the man's attention to the point that he'd like to talk instead of fight.
I'd choose your next move, and words, carefully.
Koemi Rainbowfizzle

If you start a fight in there, get the poor shopkeeper into safety! I´ll take the back here. You two over there, don´t move. Stay where you are and make no hasty moves! Even better just go away. Else you might end up eating rainbowas!
Koemi readies a color spray which she will unleash as soon as one of the thugs outside moves too close or if both move into her range or one in range uses a ranged weapon.
Arryn Wildblood
|
And the best part is, that wasn't an action that will impact on my Paladiness - he was the strong (and criminal), hassling the weak. My action was restrained (could have used a sword after all) and served a good STRONG warning to take me seriously. Ragathiel is no pussy.

Faldoc readies himself to act if the dude does anything fishy!
Koemi tries to talk down the man!
The man turns and attacks Arryn with a dagger!

You chose poorly, Faldoc states as he fires an arrow into the man named Belal. Care to reconsider?
| GM Tektite |
Faldoc fires an arrow into Belal. Between Arryn's punch and the arrow, Belal falls to the ground in a heap.
As Belal falls, the two thugs in the warehouse turn and run out the back doors.
Out of Combat!
Assuming Arryn did nonlethal damage, Belal is unconscious and the two thugs are unconscious for...another quarter minute.
Arryn Wildblood

Non Lethal
Can you secure these guys?, he says to the others. He then turns to the shopkeep. Can you tell me what all that was about and who these jokers are?.

Handing Morgrim his silk rope Faldoc says, Use mine. Knock yourself out.
Morgrim Stonewall

"You are Nasir Tandir, are you not? We have some questions we would like to ask you about a certain statue you might have purchased, which happens to be a dangerous magical artifact."
Arryn Wildblood
|
Very Dangerous - we have done you a favour, and trust me I will put the fear into Ragathiel into them before we leave, we need you to do us AND yourself a favour and produce the statue... whatever its perceived value is, it is not worth the danger to your family

As Morgrim questions Nasir, the man curls up into the fetal position. Take whatever you want, I want no more trouble.
Belal awakens and in response to Arryn's questioning, spits at the feet of the paladin and refuses to speak.
If the party searches the warehouse, they find...
Arryn Wildblood

I -really- want to execute this guy, he's a known criminal and so far unrepentant however some GMs lean towards 'Yeah, give him a minute to pray and give him last rites' and others are 'Paladins can't kill people'... so in lieu of that, and given that Absolom has SOME form of law, I'll drag him up by his bonds for now and take him with us... hoping to either find some guardsmen or similar... after this :).
He is as helpless as you once were Merchant... Ragathiel, Lord of Vengeance, gives you this opportunity to visit on him any hurts that he once may have dealt to you and yours, including breaking him if that be your choice.
| GM Tektite |
Assuming you are leaving the Secure Market until last.
The heads off in the direction of the Sengale Square, looking for the cafe that Buri Buri-Ban frequents. Along the way, Arryn finds some local watchmen to hand over Belal and the thugs into their able hands.
Soon enough, the party spots Buri Buri-Ban, as promised, at the Fetching
Fan café on Sengali Square. Though he doesn’t see the party, the moment you see him he stands and retrieves a potion out of his waist-sash. As he drains the potion he begins running, package in hand. By the time he’s taken three steps across the square, he’s already invisible.
The party notices puffs of dust kicked up in the direction of the Jenji Combine Sianti Refinery. Shortly afterward a passerby in front of the
refinery is knocked off of his feet by an invisible force.

"Stop! We came to warn you, not hurt you." With that, Morgrim hustles after the invisible man. Can Morgrim run (up to 120 ft), or merely double move (60 ft)? Either way, he'll try to get close to or in front of Buri.
