Aurelian Fache
Bump. We've got Aurelian and Zaharin's first-round actions, still need everyone else's.
And, actually, since the demon moved, Aurelian will change his action.
He instead is going to move 20 feet south, to o12, where he'll fire a cold-iron arrow at the demon, assuming he has a clear shot at it (if not, he'll move south and then fire the arrow at the cultist as previously planned).
From the rolls above, it's a 24 to hit (though that would be 26 against the demon, since there would be no range penalties), and 12 points of damage.
Saiai no Kodomo
Sorry for the wait, Google RSS feed isn't working right >.<; I get a message about a new post anywhere from 10 min - 2 days later.... Sorry for the wait ^^;
Saiai could sense what the demon was going to do to a small degree and mastered her surprise when it performed its sudden shift to being nearly right on top of Zaharin. Ignoring the cultists for now she aimed Redeemer at the foul demon and unleashed a pair of cold iron arrows to hopefully pierce its foul hide.
5ft back to her original position R-20
Flurry of Arrows +Point Blank Shot +Deadly Aim
Cold Iron 1st 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage 1st 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
Cold Iron 2nd 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Damage 2nd 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
Kosz Trumpeter
Kosz drops his crossbow and grabs up his shield. Moving towards the demon, he arms the shield.
Free action to drop the crossbow. Standard to pick up his shield. Move 20 ft U10:U14
GM Painlord
@Aurelian: not sure why you think you can change your target. And since you selected Bane (humanoid/human), I presume, with your initial shot, you don't get that advantage against the demon? Unless I'm missing something. :( You round 1 arrow at BB16 would hit.
The demon grins. So many tempting targets.
Aurelian: 24
Cultists: 20
Zaharin: 15
Good guy #1: 11
Saiai: 8
Kosz: 6
Kergrik: 6-
Top of the round.
I'll update the map when I get home tonight.
Aurelian Fache
I figured my action hadn't occurred yet and since the demon moved after I wrote the post but before it was resolved, I didn't think it would be a problem to change. Not a big deal either way.
The type of bane can be changed as a swift action, plus since it was changing the whole action, I figured the bane would just be targeting the demon instead of the humans (it actually wasn't activated for the surprise round, as my swift action was using judgment). Like I said, no big deal either way.
GM Painlord
Updated Map (The positions are slightly off the marks, but I believe that are correct relative to your last moves. Apologies...still working on how to do these.)
(I moved up the cultists for their upcoming turn.)
@Aurelian: gave you the hit on the cultist (you would have missed via cover if you targeted the demon). You are up.
Round 2:
Aurelian: 24
Cultists: 20 (movement for this round done already on map)
Zaharin: 15
Good guy #1: 11
Saiai: 8
Kosz: 6
Kergrik: 6-
Aurelian Fache
Duh, forgot I had cast expeditious retreat. Oh well.
Round 2
Moving south to give himself a clear line of sight, Aurelian pulls a cold iron arrow from his quiver, and fires at the demon, calling for Shelyn to cast her judgment on it.
Move, using expeditious retreat, to N18, swift action to change the target of the bane, attack action to shoot an arrow.
Attack demon, +2 for judgment, +2 for bane quality: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
I think that's a miss, but damage just in case: 1d8 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (1, 2) = 11
Kergrik 'Axebite' Karak
I know I’m going out of order but to keep the battle moving here is my actions this round. shouldn’t have too much effect on the daemon battle.
Kergrik abruptly shifts his run towards the road fixing a stare directly on the lead cultist and holding out an axe in challenge. ”Come’n face me you sons of goblins! Ye wanna see The Abyss then let The Brother of Drammaz Kron Speed ye on yer way!” He says gesturing to his war axe.
Double move 40ft(5ft diagonal Right + 30ft down + 5ft Right) Looks like AI:14 (as I’m big I should take up AI:13 and AH:14&13 too) If I’ve done it correctly I should be 60ft from the first cultist.
SoF: round 2 of 10
Zaharin Jozaidir
The abrupt materializing of the demon gives Zaharin a light pause of surprise. Nevertheless, he steps back, drops his crossbow before pulling out his long-spear, readying himself for the inevitable charge of the demon.
Free action, drop crossbow. 5ft step S20, draw long-spear, ready action brace, attack approach.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
damage:1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 x2 vs charge
Saiai no Kodomo
Saiai, using the tree as a sort of living shield between the demon and her, turns and brings Redeemer down on the front running cultist. She easily grabbed up two arrows and launched them with rapid succession at her target. As the arrows left her bow she gave a wicked smile.
Both arrows on AV15 I think >.>;
FFA: Flurry of Arrows
Arrow 1 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage 1 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13
Arrow 2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Damage 2 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7
Kosz Trumpeter
Kosz moves another 20 ft U13:U17 drawing his longsword as he does. He calls upon the Mistress of Portals to aid him in this fight against a usurper of her domain, empowering the blade with a holy blessing.
Divine bond: Added holy to the +1 longsword; lasts for 5 minutes.
Aurelian Fache
Aurelian fires again at the demon, holding his position.
Attack demon, +2 for judgment, +2 for bane quality: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (4, 6) = 14
GM Painlord
@Aurelian: I assume you 5' step to M12 as you really need to avoid the cover of the tree blocking your view. Your arrow hits. He demon barely notices the scratch though you think you struck true.
@Kergrik: Two swift moving cultists are near enough to charge you, heedless of your size. The other two move within 10' of you, their swords ready to draw dwarf blood.
Cultist #1 (with arrow in his chest, now in AJ12):
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16 damage.
Cultist #2 (lower of the two hitting you, AJ13):
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 = 18 damage.
Due to your large size, you may take an opportunity attack in the first as you lack the reflexes and training needed to strike at both.
Zaharin to act.
Aurelian Fache
I had moved to N18 in the previous round, so I should have a clear line of sight, but if I need to move again, that's fine. Just want to make sure also that you know it was a cold iron arrow, if that matters.
Kyson Tirc
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 Spellcraft
"Careful! He seeks to steal your soul, command you as you would command a puppet! Have care!"
Helpful Kyson is helpful.
@Aurelian: missed that. Still a hit :)
Zaharin Jozaidir
Zaharin looks around for support, seeing Saiai nearby, he moves towards her in a phalanx position. Hope I'm not getting in your way, Saiai. And let's worry 'bout the demon first, 'kay?
Move to P20, Brace and ready vs approach.
attack:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
damage:1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 x2 on charge
Kosz Trumpeter
@Kosz: Holy is a +2 weapon upgrade. May I suggest keen (+1 equivalent) instead?
I missed that. In that case, Kosz will instead draw his cold iron morningstar and grant it a +1 enchancement.
Kergrik 'Axebite' Karak
ok ouch.
AoO:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 To Hit
2d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 6) + 10 = 23 Damage
Reflexively Kergrik strikes at the first approaching cultist, turning smartly on his heel and stepping into the attack whist using a backhand sweep with his war axe. Timed to near perfection the large head of the bade bites solidly with the shoulder blade of the opponent scoring a grievous wound. Reeling from the rent in is back and the swiftness of Kergrik’s foot work the previously heavy swing bounces harmlessly from the large dwarfs pauldron.
”Ha! Come on boy is that the…”his words are cut short as a second cultist drives is greatsword hard into his thigh. ”Ah I sees ya” Kergrik turns to menace the new opponent bring both of his weapons to bare on her…
Saiai no Kodomo
Zaharin's words cause Saiai to react in the only way she can. By bringing Redeemer's wrath down on the demon harassing her comrade. She is purely concentrated on the task as she lets her deadly arrows fly, today a demon would pay for what had happened at the monastery.
FFA: Flurry of Arrows+ PBS+ DA!
Cold Iron Arrow #1 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Arrow Damage 1 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
Cold Iron #2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Arrow Damage #2 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
Her mission was to eradicate every demon, deamon and hellspawn that dared to walk Golarion. No matter how impossible it sounded she would fight until the day she died...

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 DWA main hand.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 HA off hand.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 DWA confirm.
6d8 + 27 ⇒ (7, 3, 8, 1, 8, 6) + 27 = 60 DWA Crit damage. I had to get a bit of paper out for that!
she charged so I think 19 also hits not that i think it will matter much but...
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 HA damage.
Ruling on massive damage variant… lol joking I hate that rule.
Whist the cultist struggles to bring the heavy blade back into a defensive position Kergrik brings both his axes round on her. Rolling back on his heel and holding his breath he swings both of his blades out wide and then above his head. The move climaxes with a mighty downward swing Kergrik moves all his weight forward into the blow and exhales as both of axes cut in a large V shape towards the foes neck.
The familiar crack of breaking collar bone let Kergrik know the hit was square on target but as he glanced at his work he noticed that Drammaz Kron’s Little Brother was buried deep into the now very dead woman in front of him and the bone that had broken was actually the sternum of his prior foe. ”sorry love I need that back.” Kergrik says as he uses his foot as leverage to remove the gore soaked blade from her chest, finally removing it in enough time to turn and grin at the fast approaching reinforcements.
Aurelian Fache
Is anyone in melee with the demon yet? If not, I'll fire another arrow. Otherwise, though, I don't want to risk hitting a comrade and will close to melee.
Kergrik 'Axebite' Karak
@painlord: just so to clarify AoO was against arrow cultist who now has taken 30 damage. then I got hit and I took my ire out on the one who hit me. Who is now dead so currently looking at engaged with a wounded cultist and 2 who need to charge. Sorry if that was not clear enough from my post
EDIT: @Zaharin. "oh shucks it’s all so much I’d just like to thank… er the academy, well all the other blades for your support, Kyson... and Briar’s horse. We showed em! we showed them all.
Aurelian Fache
Aurelian, seeing no need to close to melee, continues to pepper the demon with cold iron arrows.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 3 + (4, 4) = 15
GM Painlord
@Aurelian: You hit, the arrow does not sink as deeply as you would wish it.
@Kergrik: It was clear enough.
The close cultist to Kergrik, steps up (5') and tries to take down the dwarf.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4) + 9 = 19 damage.
The remaining two cultists, those covered in the blood mist of the other cultist you sliced clean though, charge you. They seems to think that you are too weak to do that again.
Kergrik, you have yet another AoO.
The first (the one to be AoO'd):
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 6) + 9 = 17 damage.
The last:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 3) + 9 = 15 damage.
Zaharin, then the Demon to act, followed by Saiai, Kosz, Kergrik.
I'll get a new map on the morrow.
Edit: Uhm...potential crit city. Why can't my characters do that?
The first (the one to be AoO'd):
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 1) + 9 = 13 damage.
The last:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 1) + 9 = 13 damage.
GM Painlord
@Zaharin: You are brave, indeed. First to deny the demon's offer of succor, but then to stand defiantly before it. Nice spear.
The demon charges Zaharin, it's long horns screaming for blood while Zaharin's planted spear remains in unquaking hands.
Zaharin hits the demon on the charge, the cold iron spear sinking deep, but the demon continues, trying to place his horns in he would stand before it.
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 to hit;
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12 charge damage;
4d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 2) + 12 = 23 powerful charge bonus.
The demon trips over his feet, partially loses his balance, and misses Zaharin, though he did not think he could miss.
lol. oh Zaharin...which god to you pray to today?
Kergrik 'Axebite' Karak
riiiiight... well if yer gunna go down go down fighting!
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 AoO Attack with DWA.
2d8 + 9 ⇒ (7, 2) + 9 = 18 AoO Damage.
Kergrik Easily knocks aside the wounded cultists strike with his Hand Axe and readies a blow at the oncoming opponents. His swing was lazy but hit strongly scoreing a deep blow on the man’s left arm.
As if in slow motion Kergrik sees his error; both arms were wide and his feet were totally out of position. His mind raced back to his childhood, of sparing with his eldest brother. ”if your gunna use two blades like that yer need t’keep em close to yer chest. An move yer feet more ye win with ur feet not with y’arms. Right again.” The first blade went in hard point first shattering his ribs and puncturing a lung. The second hit came with the side of the large sword sweeping across his chest gouging the fine Plate armour, his vision clouding he began to slump onto the two weapons.
As if slapped back into life Kergrik gave a mighty roar of pain and rage.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 Attack DWA on my new favourite cultist.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 Attack HA vs 30Dmg Cultist.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 Confirm DWA Crit again!
you know what makes me sad is somewhere on another thread the dice command is only rolling 1s! Let’s just spare a thought eh?
6d8 + 27 ⇒ (8, 6, 8, 5, 1, 6) + 27 = 61 DWA Crit damage.
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 HA damage.
All of his fury, his aggression all the pain is focused in to one desperate hit its not pretty the axe head sweeps across in one brutal motion. The cultist’s neck provides almost no resistance to the sweep and his head topples from his shoulders the look of shock still etched permanently across his face. Almost as an afterthought Kergrik’s second axe flicks across the already wounded cultist’s neck severing the carotid artery. Dumbly he drops his sword grasping at the wound at his neck slumping to his knees.
Now his breaths coming in rasps blood flowing freely from the deep gash in his chest Kergrik bellows one final challenge at the one remaining opponent.
I hope you don’t mind the fluff I’m writing for the deaths of your bods please tell me to stop/tone it down a bit and I’m only making assumptions on hit points from previous attacks so if I don’t drop anyone tell me and I’ll amend it.
Zaharin Jozaidir
Demon ichor runs down the shaft of his cold iron spear. The impact of the charge numbing Zaharin's hand. He shudders at the power of the creature at the tip of his spear. The demon's horns just lay beyond his reach.
I do get another set of action right. I'll update after the map update. Where oh where are the strikers? :)
Kosz Trumpeter
AC 26 (AC 24 -2 charging, +4 CHA) HP 46/46 Divine Bond, Smite Evil
I'm guessing the demon is now at T22, right?
Kosz sees the demon charge his sworn companion, spitting itself upon Zaharin's longspear. Taking the opening provided, the paladin charges into the fray U13:U21, calling upon the Welcomer as he does, "Alseta, guide my hand!"
Charging +1 cold iron morningstar melee attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 +5 BAB, +3 STR, +1 enhancement, +4 smite evil, +2 charging
Damage: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 +3 STR, +2 vs. demon, +1 enhancement, +10 smite evil
Ugh, it appears that Kosz will be soaking up the dice yin to Kergrik's dice yang.
GM Painlord
@Kergrik: well struck (and well described) yet again. This is a heck of a fight up there. I wonder who is going to win? But yeah, you are doing some nasty good work up there.
@Kosz: you have missed. The demon would be laughing but he's still in shock that he missed having Zaharin on his horns, like a kabob.
@Saiai: Your arrows fly wide.
Aurelian next, then the cultists...whatever his left of them, that is.
Aurelian Fache
With the demon now close to his comrades, Aurelian drops the bow and snatches his glaive, closing to within 10 feet of the beast, flanking it on the opposite side from Zaharin.
"Let us attack in concert, mes ami, and zis demon shall fall before us."
Move action to grab glaive and get in flanking position or close enough that I can do so next round if I'm too far away still, standard action to change teamwork feat to outflank.
GM Painlord
@Kergrik: You are now big. And your big bloody spray dominates the road. There are some Blood Golems who are now angry at you for stealing their schitck and putting them out of work.
@Aurelian: You can run to flank. You hope the demon is too preoccupied with easy kabob appetizer (Zaharin) and main course (SmiteBoy) to notice you.
@Saiai: Kosz is now in your firing line.
@Zaharin: One of your melee strikers has arrived, but decided to smite earth instead of the outsider. The other striker is covered in a pool of his own blood...and the blood of others. A head of one of the cultists rolls its way by you.
@Kergrik: The last cultist still stands against you.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 to hit;
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 1) + 9 = 15 damage.
The cultist looks sad that he missed. Maybe you will end his sadness.
Zaharin, then the demon.
Aurelian Fache
I won't run, but will do the basic move (should be 50' with the expeditious retreat, I think) and switching my feat. Next round I'll move to flank and hopefully help cut it into ribbons.
Kosz Trumpeter
Um, we seem to be drifting on the map. Where the demon has drifted to would have prevented Kosz charging it. The demon should be one square to it's right and Kosz should be two squares to his right.
GM Painlord
Um, we seem to be drifting on the map. Where the demon has drifted to would have prevented Kosz charging it. The demon should be one square to it's right and Kosz should be two squares to his right.
Agreed. I think the mappery has been less good this fight but I'm working with it. Forgive me. I give ye the charge.
Kergrik 'Axebite' Karak
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 DWA attack.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 HA attack.
In all seriousness now this is stupid. 3 crit threats in a row what am I doing to make it do this. all I can say is that genuinely hand on heart all my rolls have been above board. Urgh it feels worse than rolling badly.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 DWA confirm.
6d8 + 27 ⇒ (7, 2, 3, 1, 6, 1) + 27 = 47 DWA Crit damage.
Throwing his weight and strength at his opponent’s blade Kergrik is able to push the attack away. Using his hand axe to strike the great sword further knocking his opponent off balance, stepping fully into the attack Drammaz Kron’s little brother smacks deep into the gut of the hapless cultist.
As the man dies Kergrik Whispers “I told ye I’d send yer to The Abyss. It’s not my time yet.”
Kergrik slumps exhausted to his hands and knees gasping for air. Only Dimly aware of the battle close to him as if seen in a dream.
“get up Kergrik. Yer friends need ya”
I’m probably out of this fight now but I’ll do my best to patch myself up and have a swing at the beast
Aurelian Fache
Next time, we sic Kergrik on the demon and the rest of us can take on the cultists...
