So I need one more friendly to move up in levels.
I am going to do one day at a time to use my diplomacy strategically.
I got exp for Grok so I am going to try Fishgut and someone else. and we will see for day two.

Corrections and clarifications:
Scrimshaw from indifferent to helpful
Fishguts from indifferent to friendly
Barefoot from indifferent to friendly (would've failed but he enjoyed the crab and was well thankful for that)
Narwhale you make a good arguement but the ugly dwarf looks his crooked nose and says "nice words, but I been sailing with Mr pugg for seven year now" despite excellent rolls, he remains hostile.
Slippery is a human female who has run away to the ship to escape the gallows "I taken Mr puffs coin already. He's promised me a chance for murder. I like murder." She laughs earily as she stares at Depraved. Already converted to hostile.arretta, dopod
Finally, on the 12th and 13th day Septa sees arretta, dopod and jaundiced talking to ratline and shivikah. The three appear to be working together to sway the crew. Ratline is uneffected but shivikah, the former female mwangi slavery, becomes noticibly chummier with them.
Shivikah from unfriendly to hostile.
Make sure you take xp for all your successes.

About Barefoot:
Oct 3rd (above in discussion):
Barefoot from indifferent to friendly
Oct 13th (game board):
Barefoot too is easily convinced. "Sides are bein' taken. That they are."
[ooc] barefoot from indifferent to friendly [ooc]
Did I miss a downward conversion or was there a mistake?

Septa has realized that Mr Pugg, Master Scourge and those who are hostile to Septa are traveling in a large pack, approaching only one person each night. They appear to travel in a large pack because they lack any sort of diplomatic skill, and instead are relying on the power of the mob aid, intimidation and a strong dose of grog, to change crewman's minds. They seem to target the low hanging fruit - those that mostly already agree with them -- but they are not above trying to turn your friends against you. Case in point, their unsuccessful attempt to turn Fishguts against you. The are not above trying to pressure those who are merely friendly with Septa.
Once a crew person is helpful towards Septa, it is unlikely the mob could ever convince them to support you less. Those that are hostile to Septa would be VERY unlikely to ever become more friendly towards Septa, but it is possible.
Diplomacy DC 25 + target's CHA + 5 certain threats made by Mr Pugg
HINT: Most of those who are Friendly or Helpful towards Septa are not particularly diplomatic, but they are a few - such as Shortstone, Sandara, Cursewell, etc. - which can be very diplomatic. If Septa made a succesful diplomatic overture towards THEM (which would NOT be one of his daily actions) the NPC could go and make recruiting rolls in addition to Septa's.
to convince a helpful NPC to perform recruiting diplomacy DC0+ targets charisma
to convince a friendly NPC to perform recruiting diplomacy DC10+ targets charisma
I'm trying to let you catch your breath and give you time for role playing because...
...you just came out of a lengthly combat session with the reefclaws.
...I know that we are about to start a HUGE combat sequence
...as you may guess, things are not going to end happily for the crew of the Wormwood, and I want Septa to have every chance to make whatever preparations you want him to.
My phone is out, probably for the entire week, therefore I can not send you 'dings' when I post.

Couple Things,
Taking exp for Barefoot AND Fishguts OK?
1 helpful NPC to perform recruiting diplomacy DC0+ targets charisma
2 friendly NPC to perform recruiting diplomacy DC10+ targets charisma
3 Diplomacy DC 25 + target's CHA + 5 certain threats made by Mr Pugg
Is the above the Characters total Chr or Chr bonus?
Changes in crew attitude:
---
Sep 9th 2012:
For Cog who you mark as unfriendly:
During the evening Cog is helpful with covering while Septa dumps his rum, standing between him and Master Scourge.
OOC: Cog is now helpful. 3640xp + 400xp ==> 4060xp
---
For Conchobar who you mark as Friendly:
June 8th
When Rosie begins to play a mournful shanty, Shortstone gives you a friendly nod, steps up onto the hatch next to Rosie and begins singing.
Shortstone's song
Shortstone is now helpful 2640XP+400XP ==> 3040XP
---
For Cut Throat Grok that you mark as friendly
June 8th
Grok is now helpful!!! 2540XP+400XP==>2640XP
---
That Leaves Ratline and Badger 'up for grab' So to speak.
(and Caulky how im not 'touching) :)
I'm ready to move on. Lets do it

>>As per buying the silver buckle is only 24 silver and
>>I used all my money for my original stuff and buying the fiddle....
This module is made where there is little or no treasure (until any crew treasure is divided at the end of the adventure) UNLESS the PC starts thieving or pilfering BUT to steal is also made every dangerous. The PC's are forced into a tight spot in this regard.
Do as you wish. I just want to make sure I didn't blow pass this pause in the action and not give you a chance to understand and act.
NEXT post will begin a long chain of events, with a bunch of combat, which will certainly take us a long time to play out. Take a deep breath....here we go!!!

After the Captains "Whisper" speech:
FWIW Mr Pugg used diplomacy/bluff on the Captain to persuade him to make that speech.

You can still influence Ratline per the diplomacy skill description.
Badger, and all other hostiles, get a +5DC to effect;
More clearly:
to move a hostile crewmember to unfriendly takes a DC30 + targets CHA
to move an unfriendly crewmember to indifferent takes a DC20 + targets CHA
to move an indifferent crewmember to friendly takes a DC15 + targets CHA
to move a friendly crewmember to helpful takes a DC10 + targets CHA
rules to get a NPC to recruit for you, to do a favor, or to give you something, click here
NOTE: you can try to get any NPC to give or do anything for you, but the rolls can get very difficult if they are not helpful
Your are in the bilge by yourself, unlike previous days.

Master Septa is still fatigued from the effects of yesterdays grog.
In case you do not remember, Quartermaster Grok offered to open the store after hours if you wish; it will require a Diplomacy check, but she is very helpful, and you have already discovered she is fond of alcoholic beverages and songs (ie. Perform(singing) ). It should be easy to convince her.
| Septa |
Storm Burst (Sp): As a standard action, you can create a storm burst targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The storm burst deals 1d6 points of nonlethal damage + 1 point for every two cleric levels you possess. In addition, the target is buffeted by winds and rain, causing it to take a –2 penalty on attack rolls for 1 round.

1) The pair followed Septa's splashing footsteps out of the fog cloud; Septa is not permitted to be stealthy will withdrawing and the pair make perception rolls by taking 10. I did however want to reward the use of the spell, so I required them to use extra movement. The double move prevented them from attacking Septa.
2)By my estimation:
Septa is standing on the ladder in J4; by my esitimation he discovered last round that the hatchway has vbeen blocked by three heavy footlockers that have been dragged on top; I thought you wanted to exit the bilge
Jape is at J3 but could take no action last round.
Shivikah is at J5 and also coul take no action.
The only lantern is a dim hurricane lamp attached to a hook near the hatch (ie. next to Septa's head). Free action to pick up. Because of it's feeble flame, the entire bilge is in dim illumination.
It is now Septa's action.
Is there anything wrong? ...corrections? ...questions? ...comments?
3) The bilge pump stands about 30" tall. I'll rule that with a DC15 Acrobatics check, Septa can walk on top of it.
