With the friends all working together, they are easily able to get the confused bird away from the tree and terrible plants. The owl still looks horribly confused and continues tho hoot like a maniac while being held.
"What are we going to do?" She asks worridly, "We can't take hikm back to the cottage like this. He'd just get scared and fly off again."
"I don't know anyone who could help..." Lilac mutters, before pondering upon it.
After pondering over it for a few moments, Lilac remembers a certain striped pony by the name of Zencora who lives somewhere here in the forest. She has been known to have several herbal remedies for illnesses. She might be the best one to help in this instance, if they can find her.
Lilac mentions her idea about seeing Zecora to the rest of the group.
She nods, "That's right! I remember now that she lives somewhere here in these woods. Where should we start looking for her?"
"I dunno...I guess we wander around until we find her place."
She nods as they start heading through the forest, holding on to the owl and trying to keep him calm.
"Oh, fiddle these trees. I wish I could get a better from up above." Verdant said as they started wandering.
As they wander around in the forest, they hear some humming coming from nearby. Entering a little clearing, they see a zebra collecting leaves from a nearby group of plants.
Looking up from her task she sees you all standing there with the Owl, "Hello there friends, and who might you be? I am Zecora and I live out here with the trees."
"Hi, Zecora," Lilac says. "I'm Lilac and these are my friends LQ, Verdant and Cylver. We were actually looking for you."
She nods her head, "I'm done for today, these herbs are all picked. Come home with me, and we'll have a sit."
"Lead the way," Lilac says.
Zecora turns and leads them through the forest to a little cottage surrounded by plants of all kinds. Getting to the cottage she opens the door for the group of ponies, "Please come in and be at ease, I will help you with whatever you need."
"Thank you," Lilac responds.
"This is a lovely little place you have here," Verdant said as she looked around.
Giving them a smile she says, "Thank you, it suits my needs. Now may I ask, why have you come to me?"
"Our friend's owl seems to have gotten into some Poison Joke and we don't know how to cure that."
She nods, "Ahhh...the poison joke is no fun for sure, but luckily for you I have the cure. Take this dear friend and you have my word, that if you give it a bath...your bird will be cured." She says while handing them a vial. You can tell by the smell that it's an herbal bubble bath.
"Is there any way we could bathe him here?" Lilac asks.
She nods and takes them through to another room that has a basin large enough for the owl, and easy access to water.
"Thank you Zecora . I'll make sure to get him all fixed up in no time flat." Cylver says.
Giving them a smile she just turns and heads back out to the other room to look at the samples she had collected.
"Anyone know how to bathe an owl?" Lilac asks.
She pauses to think for a moment, "Well...usually birds bathe themselves in bird baths, but in this case we have to use bubble bath. So, maybe just put him in the water with the bubble bath and let him splash around in it for a little bit before rinsing it off? As long as we get it all over him, I think it should work."
"Okay, I'll fill up the tub," Lilac says, fetching the water.
"Alright, then we just need to add the bubble bath and the bird. I think just halfway will be enough water Lilac. He's not that big, and I wouldn't want to make a mess since he'll probably be splashing a bit. Do you have a hold of him alright Cylver?" She asks, wondering if their friend needed any help handling the confused creature.
When Cylver doesn't answer her she tilts her head to the side slightly as she looks at her friend with concern, "Cylver? Are you okay? Do you want me to bathe him, or do you got it?" She asks, wondering what has her friend so distracted.
"I've got him he's not going anywhere." Cylver answers.
As Lilac fills the sink tub thing, LQ adds a little of the bathing herb mixture to the water and waits for Cylver to get the owl settled into the water before handing her the vial with the rest of the soap in it.
Lilac watches intently to see if the bubble bath works.
Cylver settles the Owl into the water and says. "Alright little buddy time for your bath."
The owl struggles against Cylver for a couple of minutes before finally settling down as Cylver starts washing him. He splashes the water over him before shaking it out of his feathers as he starts to look visibly calmer than he was when they found him.
After a few minutes in the bath, the owl seems back to his old self.
LQ stands by with a towel for whenever Cylver is ready for it.
"There we are, good as new! Even has that new Owl smell." Cylver hums.
LQ giggles slightly as she hands Cylver the towel, "There ya go, he definitely smells better now. So, should we take him back to Fluttershy's place, or take him with us? He seems much calmer now, and I don't think he'll make too much noise, and I'd really like to finish finding these pets before it gets dark." She says as she looks out the window to the slowly dipping sun.
Lilac nods. "Yeah, let's keep him with us until we find the others."
"Alright. Let's get this show on the road!" Cylver says with a cheer.
Once he is clean and dry, Zecora all leads you back out of the forest and waves as you head off to find the next pet in peril. With the sun just barely starting to set, you realize that picking up the last two trails might become a little more difficult as it gets darker.
Cylver spies some alligator tracks that lead to the river that flows south into the Everfree Forest. At the edge of the river the tracks seem to disappear.
Lilac ponders the current predicament.
"He probably went downriver," Lilac says. "We should follow it."
Looking around, Lilac sees that there is a small rowboat on the bank of the river, just big enough for everyone to fit. It would take at least two of them to row the boat so they don't get tossed around.
