Thaddeus works his way over to support Mors, jabbing his longspear carefully past the half-orc.

Hanzo nods in satisfaction as his blaze overtakes the spellcaster, and then closes the gap, launching into a flying roundhouse kick, followed by a brutal chest punch at the Mage and his copies.

I thought the sniper had to roll twice and take the worst.
Mors roars a wordless warcry as he slams his blade viciously down on his attacker.
Including Inspired Rage, Divine Favor, Bless, Power Attack, Furious Focus
Mwk bastard sword: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 29
damage: 1d10 + 7 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 + 3 = 19
| GM Fuzzfoot |
Yep - my mistake on misfortune. Since I would have rolled the second before checking for critical, we can use that second roll as the misfortunre roll, so no damage to Mors.
The green sorcerer does have claws, so Hakon does provoke.
Mirror Mirror: 1d2 ⇒ 2 - the last mirror image disappears as Blanmieux carves through it, but it served its purpose. Avoiding the damage, the sorcerer does finish his levitation spell, and rises up (10' up).
Round 4 (Bold may act)
Red Sniper - unconsious, stable, tied up
Blue Sniper - (misfortuned, 19 dmg) attacked Mors
Blanmieuz AoO - 18 dmg to sorcerer's mirror image

Mechanically, the numbers wouldn't change from Hanzo. He's still armed with his kusari gama, and it has reach. That also means Hanzo can make an AoO, even if it comes when he's above me, correct?

Thaddeus jabs expertly past Mors, then retreats around the bookshelves to block any retreat.

I think you missed my question. Doesn't the spellcaster provoke from Hanzo when he casts levitate? Also, since Hanzo is armed with his kusari gama, he provokes for casting while in the air since the weapon has reach. Just waiting on a confirmation from you before rolling the two attacks.

”—AAAAAAAAAAAAHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!”
Still yelling, Mors spins on the floating mage, drawing and hurling a javelin at him.
5' step, draw and throw javelin (modified by: Bless, Divine Favor, Inspired Rage, throwing into melee)
Javelin, thrown: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 22 <— CRIT?

crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 20

"let's try to keep one alive to interrogate"
Thaddeus moves to the fallen sniper and calls to Mors. “Go! I’ll try to keep this on alive for interrogating after you’ve taken care of that sorcerer!”
Heal/Stabilize: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 5 + (2) = 23
| GM Fuzzfoot |
@Hanzo - Sorry, I missed the question, but no, you did not get an AoO because technically, he levitated before you moved to your current position. However, you would get an AoO from his spellcasting. However, since Mors and Hakon have just destroyed him, it makes no difference...
A javelin sails across the room, slamming into the sorcerer's chest sends him spinning in the air, and then an axe slams into his head, setting him right again. He floats in the air, quite dead.
Hanzo Hashashi
|
I was asking because my kusari gama has reach, and it threatened him from the spot I was previously in. The joys of being a monk, and being able to wield a weapon and also make unarmed strikes. Doesn't matter, because like you said, the poor guy is toast anyway.
Mors Buolgun
|
"Just did," Mors says darkly with a grin at his buddy. "Now let's fish him down so we can get to those supplies."
Mors stoops to search the fallen archer, then helps with the others.
Perceptino: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
| GM Fuzzfoot |
The sorcerer has potion of cure moderate wounds, potion of invisibility, scrolls of levitate (2), scroll of ray of exhaustion, scroll of silent image, wand of entangle (20 charges), smokestick; Other Gear masterwork light crossbow with 10 bolts, masterwork light mace, cloak of resistance +1, 190 gp.
The snipers together have 3 oil of magic weapon, 2 potion of cure moderate wounds, 1 potion of invisibility, 1 sleep arrow; Other Gear masterwork studded leather, masterwork composite longbow with 20 arrows, rapier, 73 gp
Heal up, and I will report this as a successful encounter.
The next room houses a strange metal cage filled with dancing ethereal mists. It is surrounded by a pretty significant wall of force, so I think it is beyond your capabilities, but if you want to try and play with it, you can.
The final room is huge. The walls of this enormous chamber rise and arch to form a half-dome, 30 feet high and supported by columns carved into the walls. Shelves covered with innumerable books, scrolls, and tablets fill this sacred space.
After healing and then interrogating the living sniper, you discover that these agents were here to collect some artifact to use against Aram Zey, the Master of Spells. They are the second team - the first already left with what they came for. These agents were still searchign for tomes or other items that may assist with controlling Zey's spirit, but they have not found anything.
You have also found the hidden supplies, and can arrange for them to be consolidated with the others.
Heal up, and then Where to next? South is condition yellow now.
Mors Buolgun
|
Potion of CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 7) + 3 = 14
Mors takes and drinks one of the potions, feeling immediately refreshed. "Grab what you can use and let's book it."
In addition to the potion he's already used, Mors takes one of the Oils of Magic Weapon. Then he'll put the rest of the gear—after everyone's taken what they want—in his backpack to take with us. Encumbrance is less of an issue when you're already in full plate.
So we deliver the captured Aspis and the supplies. What is the merit of heading to a condition yellow zone instead of a still red one?
| GM Fuzzfoot |
In a condition yellow zone, Aid tokens are more likely to result in aid. You don't have one yet, so that shouldn't influence your decision.
There is travel time between zones, so if you have spells with longer than 1 minute duration, this may factor in. Otherwise, yes - there are things left to do in every zone.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
You see a fellow Pathfinder running by and ask him what he knows. He shouts "I am trying to catch up to my group, but I hear that near by, there were some strange invaders coming out of Starhall, and there is also some rather large disturbance down in the Menagerie."
Starhall is a keep nearby, but the Menagerie is in another section. Or you can just go explore further...
Thaddeus Silverhorn
|
“It sounds like we have little time to interrogate our prisoner. Should we tie him up, or...?” He lets the question hang in the air, as his spearpoint likewise hovers over the sniper’s throat.
Sereniti
|
"Yes tie him up, knock him out, and let us get a move on. Remember he might be a potential Pathfinder and more information to be had from him with better treatment." Unless someone else wants it, Sereniti will take the masterwork crossbow and extra bolts. "If I carry an oil of magic weapon, I can apply it from behind - wait that sounds wrong - anyway I can apply it while someone facing the enemy might be distracted enough from the task to let an enemy strike in. Otherwise I think the other warriors should take one."
Mors Buolgun
|
Mors grimaces, shakes his head, then drives his blade into the mans chest, killing him swiftly.
"Gods be merciful," he mutters, "but we can't have you killing any more today."
_______
Mors nods to the bypassing pathfinder, "Thanks!" he yells, then turns to his teammates. "I say Starhall. We need to secure the facilities."
Hanzo Hashashi
|
Hanzo nods.
Starhall must be secured. Let's go.
He doesn't even give the killing of the prisoner a second glance.
That man knew the consequences of his actions when he partook in this attack. He should have been ready to greet death...
Thaddeus Silverhorn
|
Thadd likewise shows little empathy for the man. “You and Mors both make valid points, shaman – but to leave him unattended does pose significant risk.”
Which way?
Mors Buolgun
|
Mors looks across at Sereniti, then shrugs, "This is war. We make hard decisions. When the day comes, I'll answer for everything."
Hanzo and I have suggested Starhall. Blanmieux suggested to the yellow southern zone. You and Sereniti haven't weighed in specifically (I think).
Sereniti
|
"Thank goodness, our Aspis enemies did not think as you, or else we would not have found unconscious pathfinders at the entrance -we would have found dead ones. Yes, in war, people fall - but once you take a captive there are expectations. - but this is in the past - let us stop more Aspis
Thaddeus Silverhorn
|
If there's more to do in this zone, I'd suggest we try to take care of it.
Help us understand what our options are in this same zone.
I don't think we got an answer, on this. I don't see any more baddies, but there seems to be unexplored areas of this map (zone?) Let's clean up what we can.
For the sake of time...
Thadd examines the northern courtyard(?), and the doors beyond.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 9 + (4) = 19 +1 vs traps
Disable Device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
| GM Fuzzfoot |
As an aside, the two found out front would have been dead if you didn't notice them on your way in...you barely saved them. The Aspis agents did leave them for dead.
I am running out now, but will be posting this weekend for those who can..
The outside of this large keep was designed with Azlanti architecture in mind. Two wings extend from the center structure, with a domed tower at the end of the east wing a smaller patinated bronze dome over the center hall. Starhall serves as an observatory, library, and museum for otherworldly and extraplanar objects and lore.
You enter from the south. Inside the main entrance is a library with several display cases of objects recovered from Numeria, as well as a curator’s desk and a staircase to the eastern tower.
| Hakon the Also Not Slain |
Hakon will take the light mace and an oil of magic weapon, and the scroll of Silent Image, if no one objects. Hakon wasn't outfitted with a blunt weapon...iconics and their hubris... :D
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Hakon wrinkles his nose at the Numerian items, but stays quiet.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
The ceiling is 20 feet high and rises to match the elevated floor level. The chamber is well lit with everburning torches.
There are two creatures here. They look like oversized kobolds.
Thaddeus Silverhorn
|
Same question. I'm guessing these things aren't normally here. Are they speaking? I understand a good array of languages, if so.
Kn(Any relevant): 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (13) + 7 + (1) = 21
