We were kind of spread out on the map, and I didn't know where we should start, so I just moved all of us into the door way. I'm not really sure what all squares we can occupy. :P

"I'm not sure what that green thing is, but the smaller fey are tooth fairies! Nasty little things. Bites can paralyze you, and they're dangerous even after they're killed. Use cold iron if you got it," Vespaja advises.
She reaches forward and taps Insidion on the shoulder, infusing him with some minor magic. "May your sting be ruthless."
Casting Guidance.

@Vespaja: that's fine. I forgot to move you all up to the door when I posted yesterday.

Nicklod notes that one of the stuffed birds floating in the cage is actually magical. Virml does not seem amused that Nicklod is casting spells instead of freeing him.
Nicklod Vassily

Once assured that Virml was not an illusion Niklod said must have a good explanation for not freeing Virml :P with a little worry in his voice.

Vespaja

With my knowledge check about the tooth fairies, do I know if there's anything we can do to restore Virml's missing teeth right now, other than a restoration spell or something?
"Heya, Virml!" Vespaja greets the now gap-toothed clerk. "Let's get you out of there, hey? Somebody find a key, or bust open this cage."
Content to leave the searching and door busting to the others, Vespaja casts Guidance on herself and examines the magical bird floating in Virml's cage.
Spellcraft, Guidance: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27
"Looks like that stuffed bird's actually a feather token, the kind that turns into a messenger bird."
Is it a useable feather token, or is the stuffed bird an already activated one that needs to take a message somewhere?
Joesef Deadwillow

Joesef will try to open the cage if need be. I'll take 10 for a 17 on my DD check, take 20 for a 27 if we have the time/is allowed.
Joesef will then also take a look around for interesting stuff.

@Vespaja: nothing you can do right now unless one of you has Profession (dentistry), haha.

Virml gives Nicklod a funny look. "What? I wasn't upstairs. I've been stuck in this cage! Who are you? Pathfinders I presume? Please don't tell Master Shaine it was my fault."
Vespaja

Vespaja's eyes open wide in surprise, then narrow to suspicious slits. There's something fishier than the underside of a Chelish clam boat going on here. One of them is an imposter...

We were played ! The Fox must be the Virml we've seen earlier. said Nicklod a little bit upset.
He turned to Virml and asked What did you do to become their prisonner, what was the last thing you remember before your abduction ?
| EndlessForms |
Virml looks shamefaced at the senior agents questioning him on the mess he has made. "Well, I was messing with this scroll I found and out came. . . well, a fox person! A kitsune I guess they are called over in the east. I was instantly fascinated with him, he was quite a funny and clever chap, and while I was still dazed and confused that kitsune searched the vaults for resources that might help him contact some fey of the First World who imprisoned him. He told me to stay safe and climb in the cage and that he would go get me out of trouble, so he used some magic to look like me and went to go fix things, I guess."
Nicklod Vassily
|
He was good the bandit ! He played you, us as well as Lady Dralneen and Master Shaine.
Now, we must find all the scroll fragments and found this kitsune somewhere in the Grand Lodge...
Insidion
|
Insidion snarls at having been tricked.
"I have heard those foxes can impersonate a specific person like no other...we will find this fox. Now we know what we are looking for."
Vespaja
|
"You all remember what the grodair said, right? That the fox was her prisoner? I think the fake fox-Virml still had some of that scroll, which is what we need to put him back where he came from. I think we should find the rest of the scroll first, so we know what we're up against," Vespaja suggests.
"Virml!" she suddenly addresses the caged man with a sharp, scolding tone. "You triggered this mess by disturbing that scroll. Did you at least read any of it? Do you know why the fox was imprisoned? Maybe we can go ask the grodair, or either one of Owl or Albatross. And maybe we should send a message to the other Pathfinders..."
We have a feather token (bird) now! I suggest we use it to send a message to Zarta Dralneen and/or Master Shaine, telling them about fake Virml and asking them to keep him from leaving the Overflow Archives, or at least the Grand Lodge. Does that sound good to everyone else?
Rhoswen Faerondalan
|
I agree - seems the best and most prudent course of action.
"So, you can send word about the fake Virml? Good, then we can keep looking for these scroll pieces down here..."
Rhoswen stands at the ready to explore further.
Joesef Deadwillow
|
Umm, wow, they can do that? And we can do that? Geez, you guys sure know a lot of stuff about stuff. So, do we just leave this guy here?
| EndlessForms |
Virml admits that he doesn't know why the kitsune was imprisoned.
With word sent off that a prisoner is on the loose, you can rest assured that the Grand Lodge campus will be locked down. Now you just need to capture the prisoner and find a way to put him back where he belongs.
Vespaja
|
"I think we should find more of that scroll so our tentacle-having fish friend can put this fox back--or at least so it's an option. Shall we explore the rest of the Understacks? Could be more buried treasure!" Vespaja jokes, as she heads back to the hallway. Looking at the nearest door to the southwest, she gestures toward it and asks, "Shall we? Virml, you'd better stay here. I know it's a bit damp, but we wouldn't want you to get confused with your imposter."
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS
|
"Yel, I think that scroll is important here. We need to get that first, then we can secure that kitsune."
Nicklod Vassily
|
I agree, let's continue our exploration here. said Nicklod before asking Virml Your choice, stay here or come with us while we search for trouble and missing part of magical scroll.
| EndlessForms |
"I'll just stay here then," Virml says moodily.
The door to the soutwest is locked and thus it takes you some time to get through. Eventually you are able to break through the door though.
Water from the corridor begins to rush into the room. The water levels begin to lower as the room fills (everything is only a shallow bog now). This room contains many book,s with more language primers, linguistic treatises, and records of inscriptions.

Nicklod nod at Virml decision before following his comrades.
Good finding Joesef !
He tried to save the most valuable books in the room from the rushing water. Then cast detect magic.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS
|
"That's quite a good find. We might not need those crazy owls and other animals to help us now!"
Vespaja
|
"Ooh! Are there any good curse words in there?" Vespaja asks enthusiastically. Sensing that her question is, perhaps, not the most mature, she adds, "...What? A sailor's got to know these things."
She then helps Nicklod scan the room with Detect Magic.
Insidion

Insidion helps with the search. Once completed, he says "Let us try the northwest corridor."

As usual, Nicklod cast detect magic to scan the room for anything magical.
He warn his comrades when he see a map floating on the water's surface

Insidion moves around the room searching for any additional scroll fragments. He seems to have little interest in the map.

Rhoswen Faerondalan
|
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Rhoswen takes a look at the map, "Hmm, but why is it showing Tian Xia all smashed into the side of Avistan like that?" She shrugs her shoulders, not really caring about the map.
"C'mon, let's find the kitsune, or more scrolls." The fighter heads back out into the maze of the Understacks to the last door in the southeastern section.
Vespaja
|
Vespaja takes the map, shaking some of the water off it before examining it with more investigative magic. "Well that's interesting. It seems to function as a scroll of dimension door."
Looks like another one that's only on Insidion's spell list. Can one take 20 on Spellcraft to decipher a scroll?
"Shall we complete our search of these lower levels?"
