"What the?!" Jeffrey exclaims. He's not used to randomly growing large, and it messes with his defensive stance.
Obscuring mist: A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).
Ledford's attack could've missed, and Deandre may not have woken up if missed.
GM, could you please make the miss chance rolls retroactively? It may be quite a big influence on the battle.
Jeffrey draws his bastard sword, and swings it at Ledford.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 5 = 9
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 7) + 5 = 17
Miss chance 20% (<21 = miss): 1d100 ⇒ 66

Sorry! And of course.
Miss chance Saarai, 50 or lower is a miss: 1d100 ⇒ 6
Miss chance Ledford, 20 or lower is a miss: 1d100 ⇒ 24
Deandre is still asleep and Jeffrey gets the 10 damage. Ledford gets hit by the full attack and falls unconscious.
In bold may act:
Maqan
Jeffrey (-10 hp, 4hp left, Large)
Halli (asleep)
Deandre (Asleep)
Mollok
Saarai
Larki (asleep)
Ledford (Unconscious)

One down, and three unconscious! All that's left is to find those sleepyheads and either tie them up, or coup de grace them :P
Awesome job, Maqan! ;)
"Hey guys, and gals," Jeffrey says, and his voice booms throughout the street due to his enlarged vocal cords and throat. "I can't see all of them, but I sure hear a lot of snoring! Hahaha!"
"There's one snoring in front of me, together with some dude that attacked me and is now unconscious."

You are free to do whatever you want, I consider this the end of combat :) They'll be sleeping for quite a while yet, you could even plunder them and simply leave ^^ I challenge you to the most original ending of this attack! :) (one of you may leave to buy some general supplies if needed)

Super-sized Jeffrey searches till he's found all of the enemies. Each time Jeffrey finds one of them, he strips them of all their valuables. Jeffrey then tosses each enemy over the rooftops, into the next street. Every time an enemy hits the next street's pavement there's a loud snapping sound.
"I think that solves it. Let's go report our mission?"
Saarai Shae |
"Well played, everyone!" Saarai cheers. "Let's go report our findings!"
Great game! Thanks for running it, Dinuci! That was a blast!
Dinuci |
That was actually one of the outcomes I expected :P
When searching the crooks you find 129 gold for each of you. You arrive safely at venture captain Ambrus Valsin again, although Jeffrey had a hard time fitting through the doors.
"Thank you greatly for helping me out today. You showed me great skill and responsibility. I will have new assignments in the near future, most likely outside this big city."
This is it! You finished the scenario :) Congratulations! I will finish the official business in the coming days! I hope you enjoyed the first game I GM'd.
Saarai Shae |
I never would have known that was your first game as GM (without you mentioning it earlier). You did great!
Jeffrey Warren |
Good job everyone! ;)
And thanks for running this, Dinuci!
