Standard action-Summon Sebastian. 0/4 Reservoir remaining. Move inside door if open.
Warren Summons the mighty Sebastian! The celestial owl ready again to deliver the fight to the Hounders. Sebastian attacks with all his feathered fury at the hounder who injured his master!
Would summoning Sebastian allow him to full attack from my spot against the teal token? Ill roll full attack, negate the additional attacks if unable/

Darius attempts to open the door, should it open he will very cautiously move in making sure to not get hit by anyone standing just inside the door.
| DystopianGM |
Bressa knocks out Marrow Chomper, the War Hounders pet mascot and it goes quiet in the mud, unconscious. Korosh obliterates the War Hounder with the teal bandana. I'm assuming Kala and Stinky would then rush up to help Darius here due to the dog being down. Let me know if you'd like to change that assumption. Kala and Stinky rush up to where Darius is to provide backup. Redirecting Sebastian due to Teal being down. Warren summons Sebastian and the owl tears through the other War Hounder sentry. Darius opens the door to the main tower to find two War Hounders waiting for him!
At the top of the tower, a man with a tattoo across his chest of a fiery hellhound leaping out at the viewer strides out onto the siege platform slightly shimmering and wielding a well-crafted longbow. He takes aim at Bressa and fires. The arrow doesn't go as deep as it could, but still sticks into Bressa's shoulder. Bressa, I think you had 2 damage left over from before, correct?
The other War Hounders leap into action. The other sentry at the back tower goes running around, just turning the corner in time to see his friend go down by Korosh's hand. One of the War Hounders inside the tower steps up and delivers a slash with his dog claw to Darius, but fumbles the attack and misses horribly.

Yes, I think so. At least that's what I had updated my char sheet to say.
"Cowardly worm! Come down here and face me! Your dog is alive, you won't be so lucky!" The brawler shakes her fist at the guy in the tower and then rushes up behind Darius.
"Surrender or die like your friends!" shouts Bressa at the green token.

Oh well.. maybe they couldn't see her from behind Darius :)

@DystopianGM: How tall is the upper level of the tower. I want to know if Nessian is in the range of my short bow.
Also, seeing that Darius and Bressa were already blocking the doorway, Kala would have gone to take care of the War Hounder in the right hand tower so they wouldn't have to worry about anyone sneaking up behind them. Stinky would stay behind to kill the dog, because he's in a Rage and won't come out of it until the creature that injured him is dead. I'll write this post as if Kala had already started heading over to the right hand tower in the last round, but I won't move the tokens in case you decide that won't work.
Kala, knowing that there's no stopping her raging wolverine, thunders up to the right hand tower and smashes her warhammer toward the War Hounder's head. "Orc Brains is hungry!" (That's the name of the warhammer.)

Nessian Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Bressa moves and tries to intimidate Nessian, who only sneers at the woman as she runs under the parapet. Korosh charges the War Hounder sentry and cuts the man clean in half. Kala and Stinky likewise dispatch their opponent. Warren casts a spell on Nessian, clouding his mind while Sebastian races up and takes a large gouge out of his shoulder with its beak. Darius spears the first War Hounder in the doorway through the chest.
The last War Hounder left, still too afraid of his leader than of Darius rushes forward into the doorway and delivers a slash across the swashbuckler's chest.

"Come on, Stinky! We gotta catch up!"
Kala uses a full round action to move as far as possible into the tower and up the stairs, unless her path is fully blocked by someone (she's willing to pass through allies' squares) or she enters a square threatened by the gray warhounder. If she enters a threatened square, she will stop if she is not blocking the doorway or the stairs. If she would be blocking the doorway or the stairs, she will move around the warhounder to set up a flank with the next person to come through the doorway.
If she can use Acrobatics to avoid an attack of opportunity, great. Otherwise she'll just risk it. Here's the roll, just in case:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
I certainly hope that natural 20 is useful!
Stinky the Wolverine
|
Stinky is no longer raging, and is fatigued. This is round 1/4 of fatigue. He scrambles after Kala. If she engages the gray warhounder, he'll set up a flank with her. Same deal, if he needs to and is allowed to use Acrobatics here, here's the roll just in case:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Bressa

Bressa rushes past Darius and grapples the grey guy.

Sebastian attack
Warren relaxes, the tide of the battle seemingly turned. He gives Nessian a very rude gesture with his hand, one seemingly well out of character for the mage, while Sebastian attacks in all his feathered glory.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

Bressa manages to grapple the gray-clad War Hounder. Korosh moves and drinks alcohol. Kala and Stinky both manage to run past the melee in the base of the tower (normally using acrobatics to move through threatened squares is at half speed, but since Bressa has him grappled, he can't make attacks of opportunity). Warren relaxes and flips off Nessian while Sebastian tries to attack Nessian but misses. Darius stands in a defensive stance, ready to fend off any blow to himself.
Nessian becomes aware of his surroundings again. He immediately drops his bow and draws out a large mace. He swings it toward Sebastian. Meanwhile, the gray-clad War Hounder tries to break free of Bressa's hold. Both are unsuccessful.

@DystopianGM: How high is the tower? Your original post for this encounter doesn't say. I want to know if Kala and Stinky will reach the top this round, and/or how much movement it will take to do so. I have two scenarios in mind, but I need to know how much movement they will have left once they reach the top of the stairs so I can choose between them. Thanks!
| DystopianGM |
Sorry about that. The tower is 30 ft high. Stairway rises 20 ft. up. You are 15 ft. up the stairwell, so 5 more feet gets you onto the landing.
Kala, daughter of Krokum
|
Thanks, DystopianGM!
Kala slows as she reaches the top of the stairs and peeks around the corner. Seeing Nessian engaged with Sebastian, his back to her, she whispers to Stinky, "Quiet. Sick 'em!"
Standing against the back wall at the top of the stairs so the wolverine can pass, she quietly stows her warhammer and draws out her short bow, ready to aim for Nessian's torso over Stinky's low, bulky form.
Stinky the Wolverine
|
Round 2/4 of fatigue
Stinky pads up the stairs after Kala, and upon hearing her whispered command, is flooded with excitement despite his fatigue. More fighting! Yay! He's so excited about attacking that he rushes right up to Nessian without even considering the clicking of his claws on the stone floor. The sight of Nessian's soft calves is so tempting. Stinky aims a big bite at the left calf.
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Unfortunately, he's still just so fatigued from his earlier rage that the slight shifting of his target's weight is enough to throw off his aim. Instead, he ends up swiping his wet nose along the inside of Nessian's leg.

Bressa knocks out the War Hounder with the gray bandana, Korosh continues moving in. Kala and Stinky move up the stairs and Stinky tries to attack Nessian, but misses in the attempt. Likewise Sebastian misses, too. Moving Darius. Darius moves further in up the stairs.

That's one awesome owl!
Sigh. Really, Darius? Why not just kill him and be done with it?
Stonefaced, Kala notches an arrow into her short bow, pulling the string back toward her ear as she aims between Nessian's shoulder blades. Every instinct in her body screams at her to loose the arrow, but Darius's offer triggered something in her mind. What if the Black Tide's threat isn't over, and Nessian can tell us what else is coming? Urrrgh! Fine!
Holding her arrow drawn and ready to loose into his torso at any instant, Kala steps forward ten feet into the middle of the room so her allies have room to come up behind her. "Nessian! Surrender! Now!" Doubt it'll work, but here goes...

Frustrated that he missed his last bite, Stinky tries again, throwing in a swipe with each clawed paw. Tasty, juicy calves...

Sounds like they have things under control up there. After cocking an ear toward the staircase, the frail-looking brawler takes a moment and ties up the grey hounder with his own bandanna.
| DystopianGM |
Concealment (Sebastian), 1-20 misses: 1d100 ⇒ 56
Sebastian tears a chunk out of Nessian's neck, blood spurting out into the air. His eyes go glassy and he falls forward out of the tower, a loud THUD echoing down below, signifying the end to the threat of the evil man's plot, and the Silent Tide.
Out of Combat!
You search in his workshop and discover the code book and several colored lanterns used to signal the Black Echelon. You hurry the book and the lanterns to Yargos, who performs the abort code on the same cliffside that he might have been thrown to his death if you (or fate?) hadn't intervened. He thanks you profusely, again and again, and vows to always help the Pathfinder Society should the need arise for his talents.
