I also would like to know the nature of this foe.

    Know (Arcana): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

It's a sea hag. Which reminds me:

EVERYONE needs to make a FORT save or be so weakened by her horrid appearance that you take d6 STR damage.

She be evil, and while the spell protects Grym, the curse of her Evil Eye grants no new save this day.

    King of Korvosa

    Odric Fort save vs. Sea Hag: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

    Grym Round Two
    Grym attacks the shark with his dagger of sharkslaying 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 2 = 16 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage.

Don't forget if you fail any constitution based check you can spend a harrow point to re-roll that check... odric

fortitude save: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 2 = 23 The +2 included is from the harrowing Sandor received for the scene. DM: Is this a spell like ability? If so please include an additional +2

    Ways to Spend Harrow Points:
Constitution Rerolls: Spend a Harrow Point to reroll any one Fortitude saving throw, Concentration check, or other Constitution-based d20 roll. You must abide by the new result (although if you have additional Harrow Points remaining, you can use them to attempt additional rerolls).

Fast Hit Point Recovery: Spend a Harrow Point after resting for a minute to catch your breath and recover from your recent ordeals—you heal a number of hit points equal to your class level and 1 point of ability damage (but not ability drain) each time you do so. You may spend a Harrow Point in this manner once after each encounter.

Damage Reduction: Spend a Harrow Point to gain damage reduction 3/—. This damage reduction persists for the duration of the encounter in which you spent the Harrow Point.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

It is a Supernatural ability, but don't worry, you made the save.

    Morkeleb:
Hags are somewhat resistant against spells in general, but no overall weakness. Their Evil Eye is bad juju. It's a Curse to be struck with it. It stays with you until you can shake it off, but you only get one save per day. Grym's in a rough spot now.

Snarling at Ferox, his spell SR: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 fails before the sea hag. Similarly, her visage is so horrible that Odric takes 1d6 ⇒ 3 STR damage.

With Odric weakened she turns on him with a wicked looking spear:
    Spear 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
    Spear 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 dmg: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

    Initiative Repost:

I interpreted "somewhat resistatn to spells in general" to be more "high svaes" rather than "has SR." *shrug* whatchagonnado?

    SR: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 <--ah shugah

    how SR works:
SR is essentially an AC vs spells. The caster has to roll a d20, adding caster level (and any other bonuses, like Spell Penetration feat). If that number meets or beats the SR, the creature is affected (but can still save if the spell calls for it). If the nubmer doesn't meet the creatuer's SR, it is wholely unaffected by the magic.

Gaius casts Bless upon the party.

+1 to hit and +1 on saves vs. fear effects for everyone.

If Sandor fells the shark with his blow, Gaius will move forward. If not, he stays put.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Sandor skewers the shark, but it fights on, looking to bite the dwarf's head off. It's amazing, there's no way the shark could handle another hit like that.

    Odric?

    King of Korvosa

    Round the Second

Spend Harrow point to re-roll save vs. her horrible nasty visage: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15 (Rolls below include -2 penalties to hit and damage for STR damage if I did not make the save)

Odric winds up with The Eagle and swings mightily at the monstrosity before him. The water swirls in The Eagle's wake and bits of putrefying chum dance in the vortices created by the weapon's fearsome passage.

    Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Heavy Pick: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 2 = 14 for 1d6 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 12 damage. <- 16 to hit and 14 damage if FORT save is good.

    Ferox!

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Odric, your new save is juuust enough.

    The shark darts towards Sandor, heedless of the danger bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12. (Run your charge!)

As the shark flips itself back towards Sandor opening its mouth to take a good chomp. Sandor moves the weapon up into it's mouth and punches the spear point through the upper pallet into it's tiny brain.

I gots the shark mage... Now gets ta penetrating.. that lovely creature is right up your ally

As the weight of the dead shark starts to pull the tip of the polearm down, Sandor shortens the haft on it, and then does one of Odric's warm up kicks to it's nose removing the shark from the weapon.

Being poorly versed in the necromantic arts, Morkeleb is unsure whether this will work as he intends. But he tries anway, since his magicks are of dubious efficacy against this foe.
