briefley, the white square with big trolls in it is the top of the battlement; they're really in the squares that are black......up on top; let me know if this doesn't make sense.

Oops, I didn't look close enough to realize there were four. I thought the TR3 was a crenelation or something. As an aside, I am operating under the impression that my "elemental" form is not truly fire and would have no effect on the regeneration ability of trolls and trollhounds, in case someone thinks I'm overlooking that option.

Mithral breastplate doesn't give you damage resistance. Adamantine breastplate just gives a DR of 2, and it costs 10,200 gp. A mithral breastplate doesn't give you any DR.
Or maybe you were just being descriptive, but you took 12 hp damage.

The brown is a steep slope down to the river. You have to follow the yellow road, past a clot of friends, a trollhound, and you don't have enough movement.

Edwin Flips his whip so that it wraps around his shoulder and hip like a bandolier. He tugs out his shortbow, mentally berating himself for being so focused on his alchemical and adventuring paraphernalia, that he neglected to upgrade his more generic weaponry. He snaps a shot at the trolls, knowing he is unlikely to hit them, but hoping it will at least keep their heads down for a moment.
"Run for it! Don't stay out here in the open and get used for target practice!" Edwin shouts as he yanks another arrow from his quiver.
"Between Liek's abilities and my own alchemical arsenal, we have enough firepower to level a moderate forest. More than enough to deal with a couple of trolls. But that won't do us any good if they turn us into pincushions!"
Edwin motions the others to hurry, casting an eye on the fallen hounds for any sign of life. At the first sign of movement from the downed doggies, he plans to immolate the lot with an alchemical fire flask.
He may do it anyway, just to be safe, he decides.

I'll infer from this that Rholf stays put at the moment, because nobody is moving forward at the moment, before the trolls do their thing.
I believe that the only injured person you can reach at the moment is N'kai. He is down 33 hp.
"A little help here would be appreciated..." says N'Kai looking at one of the worrying bites from the trollhound in his left arm.
"Also, wait until I dismiss the grease spell to run to the gates..."
