Lance-Corporal Dalgoda moves adjacent to the door. This means he can be flanked (Morsum is still in the room) but it also means (1) he can attack those standing outside, and (2) the door can't be closed without giving him an AoO.
"Hey, Dirtbag."
1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 - 1 = 20 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 1 = 11
1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 1 = 10
17 points of damage on Sir Edmin.
Bref
WAAAAAGHHHHH! cries the charging Goblin. Bref charges into flank as soon as one is there from either Morsum or Edmin.
1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 2 + 2 + 2 = 27 for 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (3) + 2 = 8
Status 20/29 hp
Edit well that was a craptastic roll for damage
Judge Tohram Quasangi
Morsum posted that he retreated to block the door as soon as Edmin and Bref moved out. He should be in the doorway.
This was how I thought the battle went.

I know the room is 10x10, seemed easier with a little more space to draw it this way.
Bref
in that case, i will not be able to charge into a flank, but i assume i still hit with the attack even without the flank, no damage still
Edmin Al'Roth
I never understood why Angels etc get DR/evil. That actually makes them stronger against everything except what they are meant to fight.

HP: 9/26
Power Attack:1d20+7-1
Damage: 1d12+9
Come to think of it, Dren's Madness attack did make a difference -- Sir Edmin would be well into negatives now if the dogman hadn't attacked Bref last round.
Anyway, the dogman takes 5 damage and is now at -24. Note that a couple of PCs have not had a chance to get the debuff off yet.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Dren goes fully defensive on his turn...standard action and closes the door...move action.
Dren carefully closes the door, trying to evade the dog warriors attack.
Current AC is 22.
Douglas Muir 406
"Hoo-ah!
1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 - 1 = 12 Ooh, lucky Dren.
Dren grabs the door and slams it shut. The dogman looks annoyed for a moment. Then he shrugs, grins, and makes a "run away, little scampery things" motion with his fingers. Then he leans back against the other glass wall and, ignoring you, begins carefully cleaning his greatsword with a scrap of cloth.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Dren hits Edwin with the Wand of Cure light wounds a few times...
Cure Light Wounds wand 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Cure Light Wounds wand 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
We should be on our way, this was just a distraction from our goal. We will deal with you later...feeble outsider.
My character is not really affected by the debuff for the most part...so he really doesn't care, now some of the others...
Douglas Muir 406
Well, you crossed the room. So there's a door you can walk through right over there.
A few of the carrion beetles got out when you opened the door to their chamber. Now they scurry too and fro on the floor, tasting the bloodstains. (Nope, too fresh.)
The dogman, cleaning his sword, begins to whistle tunelessly to himself. (It's not easy for a dog to whistle but he more or less manages it.) It's some sort of marching tune.
Edmin Al'Roth
Edmin nods his head at Dren as he is healed. "Right. Lets leave this bastage until later. We have more ahead of us that we need to do."
Bref
Bref crouches over for a good 20 seconds catching his breath then he is ready to go.
Stoopid cheating dog man
[ooc] Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 he checks the door 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 then unlocks or disarms a trap if he sees one.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Dren notices the wound on Bref just before he sneaks off, Just in case!
cure lights wounds wand 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Sir Edmin, I think you are still down 2 hit points?
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Drens looks at the dogsman way before leaving this area, Let's save our energies for what lies ahead, that creature could be the least of our worries. It is nothing...
Edmin Al'Roth
"I agree leave this lapdog to his fate. We can kill him later, we have to get that pendant." The knight moves towards the door the goblin is checking.
Douglas Muir 406
This door is different from the last few. First, it's a large set of double doors, nearly ten feet tall. Second, it's flimsy -- the construction is thin, light wood. You could bash your way through it without too much difficulty.
The writing says, 2. Force and cunning are two powerful tools. Answer force with greater force, but answer greater force with cunning. To the cunning mind everything is a potential weapon.
Bref
Bref pulls out his rolling pin and begins to chew on it. He pauses and holds it out to Morsum.
Want chew Shadow Beastie?
If he declines he chews on it himself nd awaits someone to talk to about the plan. Bref probably could read the words if words weren't stupid.

That's actually cute for a diagram.

It's some sort of marching tune.
My dad loves that movie! He told me later in life that Sir Alec Guinness resented Bridge Over the River Kwai despite it winning him an oscar and resented Star Wars despite it gaining him world renown.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
The Judge looks at the writing on the door attempting to determine some deeper meaning.
He turns to Cy: We should probably record what this says. My guess is that there will be six or seven or thirteen or some number of "lessons".
As we discovered in the last chamber, we could easily have just walked through without any problem, just as the message on the door said, if we had not interfered with that dog. Lets follow the lesson here. Remember all, we are dealing with the lessons of those who follow the Infernal Lords. Unlike those dedicated to wanton destruction such as the Lords of the Abyss, or even those of a generally chaotic mindset, the Infernal Lords do not lie. Instead, the use trickery and deceit to hide the true meaning and to waylay you to their own ends.
The Judge turns and gives Bref a very stern look. You may chew on your pin, and I shall purchase you another when we are finished, but you have to avoid just charging forward. There will be something on the other side of this door which we can likely avoid, or defeat, quite easily. But only if we use our wit.
Now then, lets make sure that it is not trapped, and then proceed. Time is a wasting, and we only have a limited amount of time.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Morsum
Morsum slowly advances forward checking for traps or anything else out of the ordinary - more out of the ordinary than a shifting shadowy nightmare creature that is.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Jax Naismith
The door's a trick. Want to take bets that it resists attempts to open it? And the more force we use, the more force it exerts to stay closed. Edmin, would you like to do the honors?
Douglas Muir 406
Beyond lies a simple stone chamber, 30' x 30'. You are entering in the middle of the western wall. There are no torches, but here and there a few patches of faintly luminiscent lichen glow dimly on the walls. Darkvision works fine; low-light conditions for everyone else.
There is a complex, unpleasant smell here.
The room has no other apparent exits. However, opposite you on the eastern wall is a tall gap or alcove that could be the beginning of an exit. It's impossible to say, though, because it's completely blocked by what looks like a crude curtain -- some sort of coarse, heavy drapery or tarpaulin.
A foot or so in front of the curtain, a heavy braided cord hangs from a hole in the ceiling. It ends in a heavy tassel about five feet off the floor.
Bref
Bref looks disapprovingly at Judge.
Go ahead and check it Bloodlicker. Goblin no charge in get chopped by Stoopid Dog Man.
Bref chews his pin and waits for someone else to march in and set off whatever disaster awaits them.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
I really hate the nausea that calling Morsum causes. But it is better than getting eaten by something hidden in this room.
Tohram takes a deep breath, and you can tell that he really is getting tired of doing this.
You all owe me.
Moments later you see Morsum begin to becomemore translucent and even more shadowy as he dissolves into, and becomes, the Judge's shadow.
Tohram then calls on the shadows and a dark rip appears out of which crawls a large, and once again malformed, rat. The Judge points toward the room.
Mur u aktar dwar il-kamra. Imbagħad jgħaddu minn dik tal-purtieri.
Go and more about the room. Then go through that curtain.
The rat then enters the room and begins to move around the walls before scurrying to the center and then finally moving to the curtain and going through it.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Judge Tohram Quasangi
Tohram looks at the others: The rat seemed unaffected by anything. Lets see if it can grab that rope.
Tohram calls to the rat and directs it to leap up and catch the rope.
Ritorn u l-qabda l-ħabel.
Return and grab the rope.
DMDM - The rat will remain for 2 minutes, just let me know when it heads back to the shadow world.
