The snow leopard looks up at Celen intently, his eyes darting between his backpack and his face.
"Ill? I think Sialea wanted us to regroup at her dad's place."
A few minutes pass, then Celen & Inlé arrive at the Foundry where Sia & Edynn are. Whitefang the snow leopard trails after them.
Sialea heard Inle and Celen at the door and sent to them, Come on in. She gave the egg one last gentle stroke and then looked at Edynn, "They're here, let's go see if they found what we needed." She turned and headed from her room to the entrance and looked at the two men when they entered as she asked, "Well, did you get it?"
Receiving Sialea's invitation Inle hops up and kicks off the door in order to swing it open. Entering as she greeted them he responded, "The connector and an injector."
"Good. Do we need anything else to prepare?" Edynn asks.
Not long after the team is reunited, there's a KNOCK-KNOCK at the door.
"Yer machine's here, Baine!" Says a rough-sounding voice.
"Were you expecting anyone?" Edynn asks, moving toward the door.
"It's probably Garmen's guys with the tech that was f+#~ing with Torch." Inlé asks while moving alongside Edynn, greatsword at the ready in case things didn't stay civil.
The people at the door are, indeed, some of Garmen's crew lugging the power relay with them on a cart. Val starts directing them around the back of the Foundry so they can bring the machine inside.
What's more interesting, though is the fact that Councilor Dolga Freddert is coming up behind them, a coffer tucked under her arm. "Hey there! I reckon I forgot to pay you for finding Khonnir & bringing him home safe!"
"As Inle said, yes we have the connecting device needed... along with something I hope will be helpful in our further journeys under Torch if we continue along that route."
He fished out more of the sausages for Whitefang while making a mental note to definitely acquire more. He watched the power relay intently, his curiousity about it kept in bay by his healthy respect for his lack of knowledge about it. He would certainly have all sorts of questions for Mr. Baine and his daughters about it later.
"Ah excellent councilor Freddert. I'm sure we could all use the coin."
"Thank you." Inlé tells the councilor as he accepts the coffer.
Councilor Freddert sets the coffer down on a table and steps back.
Inside the coffer are 4,000 gold pieces and a scroll of resurrection.
"You'll probably get some use outta that scroll now, eh?"
"I hope not."
Sialeas shook her head as Eddyn asked if they needed anything else to be ready and said, "I don't think so, unless everyone feels the need to rest and go down there fresh tomorrow since we dealt with the device's guard." It was about that time that the door was knocked on and the device arrived. Her face lighting up in anticipation Sialea headed to the door.
When she opened the door Sialea was all ready to lead Garmen's men around to the shop when she saw Councillor Dolga. She gave Val a relieved nod as her sister began to lead the men around in her stead and said, "Please, come in Councilor." She listened to what the councilor had to say and looked at the coffer and remembered that they were getting paid to retrieve Papa. When she saw the scroll Sia was curious and then realized what it was. That scroll was going to save someone's life someday...well sort of anyway. She said, "Thank you so much Councilor, though I have to agree with Inlé that I hope it doesn't come in handy either. If it does that means things have gone very badly and we'll be glad we have it if that time comes."
"It is heading toward evening, but given that we are going underground, daylight will not be a factor. Would everyone prefer a night of rest, or for us to set out now?" Edynn asks her companions.
"I feel okay, what about the rest of you?"
"We can head down now I suppose, I will need to stop at a store somewhere for a few more little sausages I believe or take our furry friend home. Can't have him wandering about loose. He will hurt someone or get hurt."
He said nodding to the pretty furred great cat.
Sialea considered a moment and then said, "i believe that I am ready to go as well. I used very little magic so far and I think I can manage for a while longer."
"I am very much refreshed, and ready to go as well." Edynn adds.
"So y'all had fun?" Inlé innocently asks the ladies.
Trading banter & jokes, the party takes their newly earned wealth & technology & heads back under the Hill.
They pass by the corpse of Parda as they move...
"Parda! In all the excitement i had almost forgotten about her."
He began clearly saddened by that fact. He frowned looking at the canvas covered corpse his mind of course instantly going to the scroll the councellor had given them. He knew the cost of such a scroll... but he would use it on her in a heartbeat if the choice was his alone. He tosses the silky gorgeous cat a few sausages to keep him/her from getting any ideas.
Whitefang is happy to eat the sausages Celen gives him. It might be the most nourishment he's had in a while.
Looking down at Parda's corpse, Edynn looks at her companions. "Should her body be buried or taken to the surface for the benefit of her friends?"

Sialea blushed slightly but pointedly ignored the question as she walked out the door.

Sialea looked at Parda's body and realized they hadn't done anything about her. She felt bad for forgetting about the dead woman's body but knew there was nothing to do for it now. When her companions spoke she said, "I think that we should return her to the surface but I think we should wait until we are done in here first. The less trips we have to make through that foul water the better."
Inlé solemnly nods.
The party leaves Parda's body behind, retracing their steps through the desolate skulk village & the brightly-illuminated desert dome.
The science deck is as bereft of life as when you last left it. The elevator's control panel is hanging open, still occasionally sparking.
"Uh-oh. Fresh prints. Humanoid" Inlé lets out while pointing at said footprints.
"How fresh?" asks Edynn, moving to the front of the group alongside Inlé.
”Within the hour.”
"You dont think its that shopowner already do you Inle'?
He asked with a frown.
"Perhaps it was Garmen" Edynn surmises
Sialea was surprised to still find tracks down here and shook her head, "No, I don't think so. I think he would be trying to avoid the cult altogether, not warn them we were coming because he failed. I think it is either a cultist or something from that passage deeper into the ground near the old camp."
When they reached the elevator Sialea said, "Give me the pieces, let's see if I can fix this now." She began to tinker with the device and worked at putting everything back together again.
Inlé assists Sialea as she goes about fixing the elevator panel.
Between Sia's expertise & Inlé's aid, the panel is soon restored to working order.
"Nicely done. Should we move on down, or follow the footprints?" Edynn asks.
”Might be best to check on where those footprints went, don’t want them coming in behind us.”
"That does make sense, can you follow them?" the brawler asks.
”Yeah!” Inlé says with pride.
”Hmm, which way should we go now?”
Behind the security desk is a sliding door with a panel next to it. The panel has a black stripe alongside it.
"Wanna go through there?" Inlé asks Sialea while pointing at the door behind the desk.
We havent been that way yet, seems as good a choice as any other really."
He responded to Inle's question with a nod torwards the door he had just pointed at.
"That makes sense to me." Edynn replies.
Sialea nodded and said, "Yes, I agree. Let's go that way and then back to the science lab afterwards."
