Whilst he is half listening, it is pretty obvious that teh Ogre who has been brained by a falling rock, wisdom startled by an insane clock, who has been chomped by a ghoul, killed a man who was conspiring against him, been subdued by many magical machinations of a sly vixen who was betraying him...

...and now has before him the very man whos fault it *ALL* is who then had the hide to call him a monster.

Attalas will happily have a chat, with this guy safely tucked into some shackles first.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer 4 Bard 0

Nymeria, seeing Attalas' clear discomfort, speaks again. Attalas, you sit between Wade and Trabe. Make sure they behave themselves...

Does no one wnat to share his or her ideas about the guilty one with Nymeria?

Male Orc Expert 5

I think we're at the point where we want to rend flesh adn tear limbs. BEsides I'm letting other's share first as I suspect Ragnvald will have a particularly long post followed by a number of attack rolls. As far as he's concerned all three are dead men walking.

Well, I wonder how much beer and naked women it would take to bribe Ragnvald...

Mobo's having a tough time as it is maintaining focus enough to keep his pistol aimed without gnawing on himself or someone else, so the less he says the sooner he can make things go Boom

Think there's a disarm and grapple in play. Attalas has no intention of having any polite chats until at least Wade is in chains.

I'm just beating people up for fun. I think I started the grapple. But I might add some commentary when I get home tonight.

Lok ok - if no one writes something until this evening I'll go on :)

Holding onto my captive.

Just why were many of you so unmoved that Mord was found guilty? I believe that the hobgoblin, the gnome and the wench were in fact happy and smiling when the verdict was pronounced. And pronounced with great fervor if I may say so.

Wade coughs under your weight and wreathing in pain he answers

Didn't you get it by now? Malgrim was my bodyguard...argh, get off me!

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

*sigh* Fine. Just so you know I'm going to murder the f!*! out of all three of these guys regardless. The only difference is whose getting hangs and whose getting hacked to pieces. Feel free to join in.

"I was hanged. And in those instances it was this fool who was there smiling." Ragnvald says pointing accusingly at Wade. "He ensured his sorceress and seductive relative was on the jury to pull people against Mord. He hired a thug by the name of Malgrim to intimidate and bully others into voting against him. He even presented his toes to Wade as proof of the deed. When the trial was done the judge who oversaw the proceedings found inconsistencies and attempted to rectify the problem but was murdered by the same thug. Ebin's own hatred for Mord was well known he even carved it into the table of the jury room. Once the easily manipulated paladin was in he room with Wade's realtive it was too easy. Who could fault the word of a mighty and honorable paladin." Ragnvald spits. "Wade rigged the jury in such a way it was impossible to lose. The only question was why. Was he protecting someone? Did he do the deed himself? Does it really matter?"

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Attalas begins binding the man... should he start trying to break free Attalas will grapple him down again.

Actually, the more important question is, where did you two come from? We have traversed the majority of this undead pit and then you suddenly appeared. You are likely to die just like the rest of your corrupt brethren, if you tell us what you know, then at least you might not be doomed to Hell or Abaddon for eternity. Or perhaps you will be able to enjoy eternity with my mother and her legions in the Abyss.

The choice is yours, because you are dealing with several people with short attention spans, short tempers, and big swords.

"You Big Folk talk too much. Mobo already told you, in Mobo's bad dream big man cut head off elven woman Sashrala. He love her. She have magic. When we went into cell Mobo got new bad dream that other figure watched whole thing. Mobo not care where this ghost goes or their ghost goes if sticking them makes the doors open. We can't fix past, but we can make ghost sleep."

Silman Trabe grins as Wade is pushed down by the brutish ogre

The savage is right, everything was exactly like he said! You always desired Mord's wife because of her exotic features and when you couldn't have her you killed her and Mord's son Jarbin! Wade, you're an insect and you really deserve to die - I would sentence no one who lays his hands around your throat!

Trabe is so enraged that small fume particles fly from his lips as he goes on

Patrissa was his half-sister and he bribed her with the magic rubies and then he browbeat Halgrak with the help of Malgrim. He also asked Patrissa to make her seduce the poor Sir Rekkart, Ebin was no problem, that's the whole story, ha!!!

Wade stirs balefully at Trabe but doesn't respond anything and before Trabe is able to answer Jez' question, Sveth says

Don't worry about getting out, once the right one hangs, you all will be free to leave this place.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Shut up Sveth or I will give the goblin an enjoyable snack of tongue. If you have something productive to say, then say it fast, or you may be swinging besides your old friends here.

Sense Motive on Trabe: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Careful Trabe, you will be the next to experience the joys of stretchy stretchy.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Now answer my question, where have you two buddies been while we were searching this hellhole and slaying undead. We have been through nearly every room and not seen either of you. Since the rest of us all appeared in the courtroom, WHERE WERE YOU!!!!

This time Wade answers

Trabe and I were waiting in front of the ruined courthouse...lured by the forged letters, then something hit me on the head and I awoke inside this place...

Trabe nods eagerly and confirms Wade's story.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Turning towards Trabe Ragnvald grins maliciously making his intent clear. "Oh no you do not get off so simply as that. It seems to me that such a farce of a trial should have been obvious from the start. Afterall that is what the judge is there for. I might have left this to you being a doddering fool. But then here you stand. Lured by that same letter. And you came alone. Now tell me your honor." Ragnvald spits the last word and laughs as if the concept of an honorable court system "Now tell me. Why would a man who apparently has nothing to do with this be afraid of a stupid blackmail letter? Perhaps Wade was merely offered an undefeated record and the chance to have a case handed to him. Perhaps Mord knew somethign was wrong, thought about the...torture room in the back. Perhaps he was going to talk. You tell me. Should we see if all those rusty implements still function after all these years? I propose a new game. Instead of stretchy stretchy we go with pokeypokey, burneyburney, and various other goblin past times."

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Hey Mobo, you want to see if your sharp goblin eyes can see where these two fools were dragged in the door?

Trabe pales as he realizes that he won't get away easily

Oh uh...yeah, I have to admit that I knew everything was faked, but...listen to me...uh I needed money and Wade and Malgrim...

he stops speaking and looks to the floor, silent now.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

I have an idea, lets string all three of them up by their necks and give them stools to stand on. Then we can sit back and wait and watch to see which stools Mord's ghost decides to kick out.

Male Goblin Gunslinger/6

Excited at all the talk of goblin torture time, "If Killian-now-Sveth is Mord's only friend, Mord not hang him... unless he want ghost friends. Here in place of Man law are two poison talkers. They not chiefs, they not shaman, but what they say goes. And when they say wrong, ghosts get made."

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

"So maybe the Captain made wrong choice with Mord. Maybe that's why Mobo got here. Dunno. But Mobo is here so I want to fix it. We got offered shinies, freedom, but only Mord will make the dark go away. Mister Fathead and Skinny Hat, you won't be making it out of here alive. If you want to meet your final reward, better say anything else you haven't said."

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Attalas begins dragging the now bound Wade towards the gallows.

Wade doesn't struggle now anymore, stoically he lets Attalas drag him to the old rickety gallows...somewhere in the dark you hear the rasping voice of the Croaker whispering words of triumph.

Sveth accompanies the ogre and asks

And what about Trabe?

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

"Think thats what the others are working on now"

"So in the end we caught a Wade
and thus a blood debt gets repaid
We've stretchy streched, now hempen jig
And soon we'll deal with Trabe the pig
Upon the rack and poked with iron
Until the whole truth he starts cryin."

Without further ado, Attalas will kick Wade off the mortal coil.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Since Attalas has Wade, I grab Trabe.

Come on old man. If Mord does not want you, you will be safe.

I begin to lead Trabe behind Attalas and Wade.

Trabe struggles fircely - to no avail - and shouts

It was all Wade's fault, I didn't make up the plan, please, spare my life!

all the while Sveth grins like a madman and mumbles

Time to pay, fatty!

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

I look at the rest of the group.

Does anyone else have a dream or memory which might avail this judicial lowlife? It makes no difference to me, however, if he is truly innocent, something I doubt, then he should not hang. Otherwise, we are going to need two stools and two long ropes.

With a growl of anger which is soon drowned in choking Wade struggles fiercely for some seconds but then the twitching stops forever.

From the darkness you hear triumphant laughter and Trabe is now pale as an iceberg

Please, don't do that, you don't have to!

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

"Do we?" Ragnvald says looking towards Sveth.

Sveth shrugs

Wade was the killer but Trabe is surely guilty - let me put it this way: If you want to serve righteousness, there is no way Trabe is not gonna hang.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Turning towards Attalas Ragnvald nods.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

With a quick yank, Attalas strings Wade up by the neck and waits for him to turn blue and stop kicking.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Jez stands back and watches as the hangings.

Not sure whether this was the right thing to do, but considering their histories, I would consider this justice in the "Eye for and Eye" legal system.

@ Attalas: Did you mean Trabe or Wade in your last post?

Cordren solemnly watches the transpiring executions without so much as a sigh of satisfaction or disapproval. When the death throes of the men begin to cease, Cordren holds forth his holy symbol with reverence and closes his eyes.

"Oh Pharasma, what has become of your children? They are made criminals, they have formented rebellion. They have done evil, they have created hostilities. They have done murder, they have created punishment. Truly they have set the great against the small in all they have done. Grant, O might of Pharasma, what The Lady will decree: you will not see evil, you will not be in pain. Their years are disarrayed, and their months are brought near because they have done secret harm in all they have done. I am your writing palette, I have brought the ink cup for you. Their secret harm does not belong to me; no harm is done to me."

Well starting with Wade, as he was the murderous jerk, but guess Trabe sealed his own fate too as his accomplice after the fact

I actually though that we were going to string em up on stools and let Mord have the satisfaction of kicking the stools out, or Sveth if Mord cannot - although since Mort has already hanged one person, I assume he can affect the corporeal.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Hang em both. Long as we get to chop Sveth into tiny bits.

Actually Mord can go bite his bum; he should consider himself lucky we can't string him up too!

When Trabe's lifeless Body is also dangling from the gallows the Croaker's dark laughter reaches a climax, then suddenly everything falls still.

Sveth emerges from behind the gallows and proclaims

You're now free to go. The curse of the Croaker is no more and this old courthouse will from now on be what it appears to be, just a ruin. The front door will lead you back to Beldrin's Bluff where you will find a reward for what you did.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Aside to the rest of the group.

Much as I do not particularly trust Sveth, I do not see how he is culpable in this. He simply attempted to right a wrong for a friend who was murdered. Was he deceitful, yes, but I do not think that he has in fact done anything wrong.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Group:
You know except the part where he kidnapped us, placed us in chairs, and then continuously lied the whole time. No, he's done nothing wrong that might illicit a violent response. I'm surprised no ones bothered to question what happened to our relatives. As far as Ragnvald knew his uncle was still alive. :P

I'm doing this OOC mainly because Ragnvald isn't going to give a clue that its going to happen he's simply going to hack his head off adn burn the place to the ground. The other reason is if and when it happens i dont want a pvp fest. Either way im burning down the courthouse. The difference will be whether or not there will be one more body to add to the pyre.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

An ugly look crosses the Ogres face.

"Free to go? Free we is..."

"Sveth was protected by Mord
his safety was most assured
from an ogre twas kidnapped
tortured and trapped
but now that Mordy's no more..."

"Reckon where I come from, kidnap is a crime. You are going in chains to the nearest constabulary to confess, or we can sort it out here"

Attalas draws his sword.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Jez steps back. Sorry Sveth, while I may not agree with their techniques, I see their view of justice. And whatever they are going to doing far less painful that what would have been done to one such as you where I come from.

I also grab the bags of gold that Wade and Trabe were carrying around, no reason to leave them here.
