I am adding a well fed bonus from the previous days meal. With that +2 everyone passed.
@Calah, No fair using magic ;) (But perfectly acceptable).
@Noro, Master Scourge did not seem to understand your insult.
As day turns once again to night, the rum rations are dispensed and you find your self with time on your hands. I am going to have everyone post in this thread their activities for the night in order to facilitate more interaction. Additionally the adventure path calls for many days of this but I will be speeding up that part of the adventure. While it is fine to ask a table of players to make many day activity checks in a row, doing that on PbP would mean a month of nothing significant happening.

I found 200' of hemp rope, a hammer and nails and a cutlass in the middle hold along with a Human that i thought was a prisoner but turns out is the ships enforcer a dimwitted fellow named Owlbear
I suppose the smart thing is to find out where everyone has explored and compare notes, This is what I found

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
When/If Arjun is at the door I will give him "Cloak of shadows"(Bloodline Power) +1 stealth for a whopping 1 rd.

Arjun Srivastava |

Stealth 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18 +1 w/ Cloak of Shadows

Calah Riptide |

"Ahem Arjun, I would appreciate it if you did not steal items from the Galley. I work there and if anything is missing it will be me that will be keelhauled. Give me the items I want to put them back where they belong."
Calah is very upset, you are endangering her for useless items. She is very insistent that you put the items where they belong or give them to her so she will do it.

Calah Riptide |

Calah evenings action will depend on what Sandra tells her, but she will be going for talking with people and see if there are allies to be found among the crew

*Vividly remembering yesterday mornings punishment for invading the captain quarters*
If we have to check those 2 places(Captains and officers quarters) we will, however that idea does not strike me as prudent at this point in time

Arjun Srivastava |

Arjun narrows his eyes for a moment to Calah's demand. "Very well. Here." He hands her the thieves tools set. "I re-locked the chest when I was finished, so good luck picking the lock and avoiding the poisoned needle."
He shrugs to Dimitrious. "Fair enough, we can avoid the officer's room. Where would you like to explore? The sailor's berth?"

Dimitrious Black |

I believe that we are in the sailors/crew quarters, We could check out the lower hold and perhaps you would like to look at the middle hold. I searched it but another set of eyes never hurt.
*Looking at Calah*
It sounds as if the quartermaster/ galley areas have been searched

MichaelCullen |

I am not sure if you are having the same problem with the PMs. I can only read the most recent sent and received from each person. I am going to recap some of the stuff from PMs in case you could not read them.
Sandra finds Calah during the rum distribution.
You mentioned you wanted to know a little bit about me. I was born the daughter of a fisherman and a seamstress. From an early age I had a lot of time to myself as my parents were always working. I first started frequenting bars when I was tall enough to see over the bar. By the time I was twelve I was climbing the masts of ships that were in port. Ever since I have had sea water in my blood.

Calah Riptide |

"Ah I unfortunately had a different background. I was taken at the age of 5 years old from my Undine enclave. The pirates who took me murdered most of my friends and family members and destroyed the enclave. Ever since I have lived on pirate ships. As a cook, a diver, reading weather, or just tying down ropes. I just got away from a really poorly run ship. How is this one? You might know some of the crew members. Could you tell me of them? I learned the hard way it is good to find friends quickly on a ship before they are turned against you when you "accidentally" anger some people. Scourge seems like a nasty piece of work though... And how are you handling being press-ganged. I'm sure you had better plans for becoming a pirate."
some pauses in between for answers etc, but these are questions I would ask her. Still trying to strengthen the relationship so will flirt when its proper.

Noro the iron maiden |

Noro simply goes to catch the games being played.
watching a few of the arm wrestling matches. she even tries to hide a snicker at some as they wrestle like they "ain't got a pair"

![]() |

Jax is doing what he is doing searching the rooms, one by one in the order mentioned.
When he is done with that, he will meet up with whoever to chat or whoever wants to chat with him.

Dimitrious Black |

"Lower holds sounds fine. Shall we?"
After you good sir

.Suny. |

Suny will join in and watch the entertainment for the evening. The various arm wrestling soon becomes repetitive and, with a yawn, she wanders off to bed to be rested for the chores of the coming day.
(^_^)

Noro the iron maiden |

Sunny you not gonna watch Noro, see some manly pirates get beat by a girl

.Suny. |

If Noro bends people's arms a'fore she toddles off to bed, sure. But watching people get all hot an' sweaty after a day of gettin' all hot an' sweaty in't rilly Suny's current idea of a great time. (^_^)

Noro the iron maiden |

might depend on what it is yer doin. ta get all hot and sweaty, now doesn't it

*Nods* Aye, that's why I said 'current'.. (^_~)

the body of Harmak Gruft, a pirate who beat the captain at dice. Gruft is dead, but his ugly parrot Pluck perches atop the cage, still waiting for its master to awaken. The aptly named Pluck, which has lost more than few of its feathers, could make a good pet or familiar if it can
be lured down Pluck seems unfriendly and possesses a considerable
vocabulary of appalling curse words. A DC 15 perception check spots a few dropped coins in the corner(10 GP). This deck is off limits to the crew when the captain is here but right now the ship is anchored out so no one is here.

.Suny. |

*Reads DM's spoiler* Sweeeeet! (^_^)
Sunny watches the 'wrestling' for a time. The first one or two rounds... but, again, it's not really something she finds so interesting.
A 'Diplomacy' roll to help bolster allies?

.Suny. |

*Nods to the DM's comment*
"Like you do? Come over hear and see if you can best me."
Sunny blink as she glances from the...solidly built human woman to the solidly built human male.
Slipping around to the side Sunny watches...though she stifles a yawn as she does so.
Will await the results of Noro's and such rolls for now.
(^_^)
Also fixed me character line. Seems it were cutin' off me initiative...

Calah Riptide |

Calah will continue to chitchat with Sandra for the rest of the evening, talking about dreams and plans of the future, hobbies, fun stories. All together bonding and Calah will flirt a little after some rum has been drunk and the mood calls for it.
On the second day (the day we fought the rats), can Calah talk with the cook and try to befriend him? Or is she too busy working the kitchen to do that?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
During the evening of the second day she will talk to this funny gnome Conchobhar Turlach Shortstone. She will drink her rum.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
With both she will introduce herself, ask them about their dreams and history, with the crew and before the ship. She is interested in the politics of the ship, who is friendly and who she should avoid. Maybe if there are any larger animals on the ship besides the occasional pig/cow/goat for eating. She will tell her story of the meatballs she cooked for Fat Fred and some other funny stories and experiences she had from her previous ships.
With the cook she is interested in how he became the cook, his specialties and what he thought of Calah's cooking thus far. She would gladly learn of him. If he could her anything about the crew. If it is not too tender a subject she will ask him about why he drinks so much. She would be glad for a pleasant conversation during the cooking.
She will harmlessly and jokingly flirt a little with the gnome, acting all lady like if he acts like a gentleman. Asking him about his stylish hat and clothing. Where he got them and if he knows if he could get something put together for her as well. What type of clothing would suit her body shape and colour. She could really use her armor, but it is probably in the hold. Maybe Conchobhar knows how to get it back and will style it for her.
Not sure if you want to do entire discussions? Or if you want to skip through them a little.

MichaelCullen |

@ Calah On the second day Fishguts was considerably more sober and was actually able to help with the food prep, perhaps he thought he would learn something? I was trained as a professional chef at the Lobster’s Armor, one of Port Peril’s most popular and expensive
restaurants, but when he was thrown out for inappropriate
behavior with one of my assistants, I ended up plying my
trade with several sailing vessels in the Shackles before
embarking on Captain Barnabas Harrigan’s Wormwood, where I have served as ship’s cook for the past 3 years.
My drinking led me to bet my own life against Captain Harrigan in a card game one night 2 years ago. I lost, and my life became Harrigan’s to do with what he would.
My only real joy onboard is my chickens. Do you know much about poultry?
This is Black-Hearted Bezebel, you don't recognize her breed do you?
Conchobhar Let's play a game of cards, if I win you tell me about yourself, if you win I will tell you my story. If you wish to play roll a d20 on an 11 up you win 10 down he does, he is not about to cheat you so you have fair odds.

Noro the iron maiden |

will get noro match later today

Calah Riptide |

knowledge nature: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"Due to my captivity I have not seen a lot of animals. however we once found these chickens from a merchant ship we raided. I believe they are black cockerels. She looks like a fine specimen Fishguts. You must treat her very well.
Are there any other animals on the ship?
Do you by chance know how I could get my armor back? I would like to deep fry something for the crew some time but I'm afraid the fat spatters would burn me.
I heard someone named Owlbear is being kept as an animal down in the hold. Poor man, no one deserves that. Maybe I should get him some food from time to time. Do you know what he likes to eat?
I do wonder, so many of the crew were gang-pressed aren't there whispers of mutiny on the ship?
cardgame: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Calah jokingly proclaims "Aha, alas good sir, it seems you have lost. Now you must tell me your most embarrassing secrets of yourself." she adds a wink at the last bit.
She also asks the questions mentioned above.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Keeping Lookout Nice!

MichaelCullen |

@ Calah from Fishguts INDEED! she is a black cockerel, there is more to you than there seems As far as other animals, I have a collection of chickens, but they are for eggs not for cooking, quite a variety you see. We also have some pigs in the hold. Now Owlbear, they are a bit cruel to him, if you want to bring food down to him I don't think anybody will mind. In a hushed voice despite your solitude As for mutiny... there may not be many people liking their lot but fear of punishment is a powerful thing.
@ Calah from Conchobar, My most embarrassing moment eh? Well it happened just the other day. I was playing a game of cards on this very vessel. Before I knew it we were underway, and I a pirate. But I had been hoping for an adventure so I guess its not all bad. Besides that most embarrassing moment would have to be about a year and a half ago. Someone had turned this respectable purple hat pink, using a prestidigitation spell, I did not realize for a long while and had been walking around a busy market. What self respecting gnome would wear a pink hat, took a while to live that one down.

Noro the iron maiden |

note: I hate posting from my phone: tiny key pad, and fat fingers and bad eyes. so if my post is very short that is probablt why
Noro sizes up her opponent. You shure you don't mind being embarrashed when I beat ya. she quips with a lisp.
Noro takes a seat putting her arm on the table waiting for her opponent to "man-up"
strength check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Of course the dice roller will definately make me look bad
we will see what happens now, there just might be a fist fight on deck depending on what happens next

Calah Riptide |

"I'm sorry, but your name, Fishguts, I don't think it suits you. Seeing as you are so gentle with chickens. What is your real name? I think I would prefer it to Fishguts. If you do not mind that is.
Calah is having a good time with Conchobar "Yes imagine that a pink hat, that is so ridiculous. Where did you get that hat anyway. It is marvelous." She will continue playing with him, where the winner has to tell a story, for the rest of the night truly enjoying herself and sharing some embarrassing moments of herself if she loses.
Calah is interested in knowing if the gnome is enjoying her company as well and what type of character she thinks he is. He seems harmless enough.
sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
And though she is not actively trying to befriend him but it might just grow due to the fun they are having together.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Does Fishguts or Conchobhar know how best to retrieve her armor?

Noro the iron maiden |

Noro shakes off the effect of her hand slamming into the table. her anger building even more.
As Maheem grins and savors his victory Noro just gets rather angry, she actually believes that this jerk cheated some how, and she does not like cheaters.
as he celebrates with the crowd and turns back to mock Noro. Noro nails him in the jaw with a right hook
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
non-lethal damage: 1d3 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Arjun Srivastava |

I will take 20 on a Disable Device check, for a total of 24.
Stealth check 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 w/ +4 bonus from Dimitrious
Total 23
Just perusing the contents of their belongings. ;)

MichaelCullen |

@Noro Mahreem takes the blow right on his chin, You might not be able to wrestle but you sure have a mean right hook.
@Arjun Gold: 1d20 ⇒ 15 number of objects: 1d3 ⇒ 3 objects: 1d100 ⇒ 241d100 ⇒ 51d100 ⇒ 14
Flask of holy water
An extra 2d10 gp extra gold: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Flask of acid

.Suny. |

Noro the iron maiden |

does that count as aggressive diplomacy?
Noro is none to happy at the loss. but she realizes that her punch got his attention that she is no "push-over"
And therresh more where that came from if you think that beatin' me at that game meansh anything. Noro puts on her tough girl stance and refusing to back down.
ending her rage (used 2 rounds) and is hiding her fatigued condition
but she remains ready just in case he tries to even the score. If he tries to counter punch and he has an opening Noro will take it with another shot...i.e. punches without the aid of improved unarmed strike feat and drawing an AoO

Is taking 20 on perception okay? When Jax searches something, he searches it thoroughly, for anything and everything of interest if he can he takes 20 for a 22 total, if not there here is my roll.
perception: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (12) = 14

Arjun Srivastava |

Arjun shares his discovery with Dimitrious, particularly noting the flask of acid and flask of holy water. "That's it for me tonight." He retires for the evening for a good night's sleep.

Dimitrious Black |

Never know when that might come in handy, I found some rope, a hammer and some nails and a cutlass in the middle hold. I hid it in case anyone can use it
I will head off to bed.

MichaelCullen |

@ Jax taking a 20 is fine in that instance, you had plenty of time to do a thorough search.
The next morning begins with a flurry of excitement. Sails on the horizon shouts a look out. We are windward, we have the advantage. shouts another.
The captain orders Mr. Plug, Prepare the ship for battle. He turns to the Conn, Set course East by South, make best speed.
Mr. Plug turns to the quartermaster and states, When we come along side I will need all hands ready for battle.
I will need profession (sailor) from everybody to see how well the ship is dressed for battle. Descriptions of what you are doing to prepare the ship for battle will add bonuses.
An excited look appears on Conchobar's face, I have never seen a battle, how interesting!

Calah Riptide |

Calah will help tie down the sails, lines and loose items on the deck for full wind and when the battle starts.
profession sailor: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Calah will also pray to the water spirits and prepare spells for battle (will say which later on).
She will point out currents and study the weather so we know which way the wind will turn.
survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
the dice are really on my side on this one
edit: Calah will ask any bards on the ship to start an intimidating combat or battle song when we get into combat range. It will lift the spirits of the crew while intimidating the other ship's crew.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
