| DM Khel |
I'm last.
No, Jax is the last of the party to act. Speaking of which, looks like he acted out of turn. Shouldn't matter, really.
The shark under Oddler's spell darts at another nearby, biting ferociously at it! A stream of blood begins to spread through the water! The injured shark swims quickly away, streaming blood behind it. All of the sharks are now swimming around in a frenzy!
Red Bite vs Green: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
With his ranseur in one hand, Tsomo raises his other hand and tosses a small, metal ball onto the deck before backing away!
1d3 ⇒ 1
1d20 ⇒ 3
Round 2 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks (Green: -8 hp)
Jax
Tsomo (-5 hp)
Everyone but Jax is up!
Kala Thelas
|
Kala withdraws yet another wand and taps herself with it, this time enveloping herself with even more magical protection!
Cast Mage Armor. Ac in () in status bar.
Oddler Oddrik
|
Oddler continues to prod around in the minds of the sharks this time commanding the green shark to return the favor against the red.
Murderous Command on Red again
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro just runs forward trying to get closer to Tsomo.
| DM Khel |
Will, DC 15: 1d20 ⇒ 17
As the party advances on Tsomo, the huge iris valve at the bottom of the docking bay cycles open and water surges through the portal, rising above the level of the dock! Oddler's spell has no effect on the shark, which turns its bloody attention on the Pathfinders!
Targets: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2) = 8
The sharks dart through the shallows, tails threshing the water as they attack!
Bite vs Molos: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Bite vs Seijiro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Bite vs Kala: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
At the same time, the metal sphere dropped by Tsomo explodes, nearly engulfing Seijiro in flame and shrapnel! It continues to burn
The dock area is now covered in water four feet deep, making the entire area difficult terrain. Oddly enough, the area within the red outline is also on fire.
Round 2 Initiative:
Molo
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks (Green: -8 hp)
Jax
Tsomo (-7 hp)
Jax's turn!
Edit: realized that Tsomo gets an AoO on Frost as he approaches.
Ranseur attack, AoO vs Frost: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Damage : 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 3) + 7 = 12
And Jax gets an AoO vs the green shark.
| DM Khel |
Jax’s glaive cuts the green-eyed shark deeply! The creature turns a bit green about the gills, then sinks to the deck, dead!
Tsomo, far more nimble in the water than Frost, takes a step back and stabs at the paladin with his ranseur!
Ranseur attack vs Frost: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Damage : 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12
Round 3 Initiative:
Molo
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks
Jax
Tsomo (-7 hp)
Everyone but Jax is up!
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro tries to put out the burning flames on himself.
reflex?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
| DM Khel |
Seijiro - you're just outside the blast radius, so the flames just missed you, no need to douse them.
Seijiro Saketa
|
sorry, I thought you said I was burning... my bad... I'll re-post a different action then
Seijiro stabs at the shark...
rapier to hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
dmg if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Molos Voren
|
"Help me, Oddler! Get this damned shark off me," Molos cries out as he takes a 5' step to the right, away from the creature. He blasts it with his magic missile wand.
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Oddler Oddrik
|
Oddler draws forth her 5 sided mace and smacks it across the snout of the shark.
Mace: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
| DM Khel |
Molos - you can't 5-foot step in difficult terrain, which the dock is now, because it's 4 feet deep in water. Would you like to use the wand anyway and provoke an AoO, or do something else?
Seijiro gives the nearest shark a poke, and Oddler gives another shark a good smashing!
Round 3 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks (Pink: -4 hp; Red: -8 hp)
Jax
Tsomo (-7 hp)
Frost is up, and Molos can revise his action.
~Frost~
|
"Your murderous crimes are at an end, it is time for righteous judgment!"
Frost lays hands...
2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Then moves up and strikes!
Smite/PA
Attack 1d20 + 9 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 3 - 2 = 28
Damage 2d4 + 4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16
Crit? 1d20 + 9 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 3 - 2 = 21
Add Damage 2d4 + 4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 + 4 + 4 = 17
1d20 ⇒ 3
Kala Thelas
|
Kala moves forward in an attempt to catch up with her companions.
And groans as she sees the fire blocking her way!
| DM Khel |
Wands don't provoke unless it's a ranged touch attack or something.
You’re right, Jax, thanks for pointing that out. I had it mixed up with casting, I guess. Molos’ magic missile will hit the shark after all.
Molos’ bolt of force strikes the shark near him, leaving it listless and bleeding! As Frost steps forward, Tsomo swings his ranseur again! Frost then deals a powerful blow to Tsomo! The crit did not confirm.
Ranseur, AoO vs Frost: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14
The surge of water covering the docks drops away, and the sharks flow with it, swimming back into the center of the docking bay.
Oddler and Seijiro get AoO’s on their respective sharks and the difficult terrain is gone.
Round 3 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks (Pink: -4 hp; Red: -11 hp, staggered)
Jax
Tsomo (-23 hp)
Jax is up!
One thing: I’ve been playing that Tsomo can make a 5-foot step on the flooded dock (which is difficult terrain for the PC’s) because he has a swim speed. Does that make sense to you all?
Seijiro Saketa
|
aoo vs shark: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
dmg if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Oddler Oddrik
|
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 111d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Misfortune on my self
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Oddler takes a heavy swing at the shark and once again crashes heavy iron into fleshy snout.
| DM Khel |
As the sharks swim away, each of them is attacked by a Pathfinder! Seijiro gives his shark a parting poke, and Oddler’s five-sided mace whacks the other shark on the head powerfully! The shark goes still and sinks to the dock, where the rushing water carries it over the edge, lifeless.
The raging fire from Tsomo’s ironflame grenade goes out, and the malenti steps away from Frost and Jax. He quickly draws a potion and drinks it down, causing his wounds to heal!
Healing: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 8) + 3 = 17
Round 5 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Sharks (Pink: -5 hp)
Jax
Tsomo (-6 hp)
Top of the round, bold are up.
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro double moves into a position of flanking for Frost, using his extremely nimble moves to avoid being attacked while doing so.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
~Frost~
|
AC 26
"How many more of those potions you have? How long you think you can avoid my sword?"
Frost lays hands again
2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10 = fully healed.
Then moves up, defensively this time and strikes at the ranseur.
Smite/defensive/flank
Sunder 1d20 + 9 + 3 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 3 - 4 + 2 = 14
Damage 2d4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 + 4 = 11
***EDIT*** added flank
Seijiro Saketa

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
don't forget the +2 for the flank
Molos Voren
|
Molos plinks away at Tsomo with his wand yet again.
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
He then moves 30' toward the group. Would someone move me please?
Kala Thelas
|
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Moved you Molos.
Acid splash ranged touch 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 191d3 ⇒ 1
Kala manages to get herself close enough to lob a small ball of acid at Tsomo.
| DM Khel |
Frost – hard as it may be to believe, Tsomo isn’t evil, so you don’t get to add Smite bonuses. I’ve adjusted his HP for the smite damage I counted on your previous attack. On the plus side, the water on the dock has subsided, so you’re no longer in difficult terrain and you can 5-foot step rather than moving and attacking defensively.
As Seijiro bounds nimbly into position, Frost heals himself and swings at Tsomo’s ranseur, but the malenti nimbly moves his weapon out of the way! Tsomo replies angrily, ”I’ll defeat you, and the Lambent Bloom will come to Vialesk!”
Kala and Molos both manage to do some harm to Tsomo with their magical attacks!
Round 5 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Jax
Tsomo (-5 hp)
The shark can no longer reach you at this point, so I’ve dropped it from the initiative list. Jax is up!
| DM Khel |
Jax just manages to connect with his glaive, cutting Tsomo! With Frost and Seijiro crowding him, Tsomo attacks Jax with his ranseur, his face in a frenzied rage! He then steps off the dock, splashing into the water below!
Ranseur vs Jax, Blood Frenzy: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 = 21
Damage, Blood Frenzy: 2d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 7 + 1 = 14
Round 6 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Jax
Tsomo (-13 hp, -2 AC from Blood Frenzy)
Everyone is up! Tsomo is now in the water adjacent to the dock. He is within 5' reach, but has improved cover against anyone attacking from land.
~Frost~
|
This guy is NOT evil? That rather creates a few problems :( I think the author is cheating - lemme guess, they have pulled some BS about him being CN or something - that's lame.
Frost is bored by this fellow and drinks her potion of Touch of the Sea
| DM Khel |
This guy is NOT evil? That rather creates a few problems :( I think the author is cheating - lemme guess, they have pulled some BS about him being CN or something - that's lame.
You ever have one of those moments where you mean to check the evil guy’s stat block for his alignment and you accidentally look at the shark’s alignment? No? Well, it’s happened to me at least once. Today, in fact. He’s evil, I’ll add the damage back in.
Jax cures his wounds, Frost drinks a potion, and Molos continues to send stinging bolts of force at Tsomo!
Round 6 Initiative:
Molos
Seijiro
Frost
Oddler
Kala
Jax
Tsomo (-17 hp, -2 AC from Blood Frenzy)
Seijiro, Oddler and Kara are up!

You ever have one of those moments...
LOL yeah I have those from time to time, and just go 'UGH!' :) Ok I'll stop cursing the author for what appeared to be a 'gotcha!' moment
Oddler Oddrik
|
Oddler moves forward and warps reality a bit for Tsomo.
Ill Omen, roll twice and take the worse and his next d20 roll
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro steps forward and stabs at Tomos with is rapier..."Take THAT!"

Kala Thelas
|
It could be worse. The shark bloodrages and hits us with a Ranseur. :P
Kala steps up glad of the space and waves her hand wildly! Speaking slowly.....
"Violet!Red! Purple! Blue! Green! Yellow! Orange! Black!"
Color spray DC 14 will save.
| DM Khel |
Seijiro manages to poke Tsomo with his rapier, but Kala’s spell seems to have no effect, even with Oddler making Tsomo’s life a bit harder. Tsomo kicks away from the dock a short distance, then reaches into a pouch and pulls out another grenade, tossing it at the party! The grenade hits the decking, but doesn’t do anything.
Will vs Color Spray: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Molos Voren
|
Molos moves 30' south towards the group, trying to spot their last enemy to fire another shot with his wand.
Not sure if I can get line of sight. If I can I will fire. If not, double move me so I can try next round. Thanks.
Seijiro Saketa
|
Seijiro moves to get further away from the bomb and puts away his rapier... pulls out his shortbow.
Oddler Oddrik
|
Oddler smirks and stares at the final shark and casts Murderous Command on it to make it go for Tsomo as he escapes the blast radius
Reroll anything 15 or higher on the save by the shark
Kala Thelas
|
If color spray doesn't work....then.... 1d6 ⇒ 2
You unleash a powerful scream, inaudible to all but a single target. The target is dazed for 1 round and takes 1d6 points of sonic damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d6). A successful save negates the daze effect and halves the damage.
Kala inhales, puffs out her cheeks and widens her stance to brace herself as she S C R E A M S!!!!!!
| DM Khel |
Molos hurries along the dock to reach the fight as Seijiro draws his bow. Frost leaps into the water and lands a powerful spiked punch on Tsomo! Oddler’s spell takes effect on the shark, but Tsomo resists Kala’s magical scream. Jax swings hard, but the water blocks much of his view of Tsomo and the attack does not connect!
The last shark darts under the dock, swimming hard for Tsomo. The malenti is too nimble, however, and the shark's teeth slam shut on nothing but water!
