Counted back 25' from the X to place Drosil on the stairs. That said, I'm not sure how you got 85' from that movement. He was at the top of the stairs. He'd move W -> W -> W -> N -> E -> NE (30', placing him at the top-right corner of the stairs). When he moves E once again, does he show up at the upper left corner of the downstairs stairs? If that's the case, then he'd move (E -> E -> E -> N -> W -> W, another 30') and show up on the last square of stairs before where the "X" had been.

At the sound of the scream, Ashan steps away from the others and unfolds his arms, watching their reactions carefully. With all of his allies accounted for in the room, the source of the frightened cry is secondary. He knows the paladin will protect the innocent, he knows the bardess will comfort the frightened, he knows the kayal will see what is hidden, that his kin will do what is right, and the others will fall in line around that. Ashan, therefore, is concerned about what they will not do.

What is necessary.

As the group bursts out of the room, leaving Dantrian behind, Ashan turns his masked countenance to the silverbacked werewolf. A moment of silent inspection is all the elf affords the cursed man, before he explodes into a flurry of movement out the hall, his tattered cloak fanning out like the limbs of an octopus alighting into the unseen depths. For a time he follows the others, his bootfalls nipping at their heels, but as they turn to the stairwell to rush headlong to the source of danger, Ashan moves past with his own agenda. He rounds the corner past the stairwell, stepping momentarily into the light of a burning hearth like a phantom, only to disappear into an adjacent doorway a moment after. One floor below, Ashan's footsteps thunder overhead, moving with purpose and deliberate intent across the ceiling.

When finally he reaches the second floor level of the southwest tower, Ashan makes no pause in heading to the stairs that lead up to the Warden's library. As he reaches the top of the stairs, Ashan utters an eldritch incantation in lilting cadence. A firelight glow passes over Ashan in that moment, and soon smoke and ash begins to billow out from beneath his robe. By the time he reaches the top of the stairs, his entire body has transformed into a cloud of churning ash and choking smoke, lit within by flashes and sparks of firelight and dancing embers. This pool of smoke and darkness waits at the top of the stairs, slithering and twisting like a snake as Ashan steels himself, then finally slithers under the gap in the door like an unwelcome phantom, come to haunt the Warden's library.

This is correct, moved Drosil to my understanding of this.

Ashan finds himself in a cozy tower office. The room is ringed from floor to ceiling in book shelves and there is a hearth with a fire burning in it on the south side of the room. In front of the hearth sits a large paper and book covered desk, and behind that sits Estovian Lozarov. The Lodge Warden looks up in utter surprise as a cloud of smoke and ash turns into Ashan inside his office. "Wha..WHAT?! What are you doing? I demand you leave my private chamber at once! Wait....are those screams? What's going on?"


As Drosil rounds the corner he comes onto the scene of a nightmare. An ogre sized spider is in the middle of devouring the other guests of the lodge. The hall floor is soaked in blood, and there are vaguely recognizable body parts strewn about. Many of them have long orange spines - the spider's fur, stuck into their flesh. Duristan stands in the doorway, looking desperate. He is barely fending of the enormous arachnid with his longsword. "Help!" he pleas.

Heh - I wasn't talking about Hero Points, I was asking because he had moved 55' when he ended up where he was on the map. You backed him out of the room and put him where he is now. If you moved him 25' or more, then he's still got a standard action left.
