Recruited to reclaim the town of Kelmarane from a tribe of gnolls, six adventurers find themselves caught up in a series of events that may change the face of Katapesh: the Legacy of Fire.

If they happen to be minions of Lamashtu etc., apply that too. AC is 22 as Mage Armor applies.

Whipping his lantern around to illuminate the adjacent undead, Sajan builds to a strong rythm landing hit after hit to the spirit and diminishing the whipping winds around it somewhat. His magic knuckles clearly hurt the thing despite its resistance.

Factoring in mage armour as per the incorporal entry, thanks. Grall, Linah and Zeladiel are up to close out round 1.

DM Dan E:
As much as I hate to say this, Incorporeal Subtype: An incorporeal creature has no physical body. An incorporeal creature is immune to critical hits and precision-based damage (such as sneak attack damage) unless the attacks are made using a weapon with the ghost touch special weapon quality. In addition, creatures with the incorporeal subtype gain the incorporeal special quality.

Khalid has reminded me that the incorporeal sub-type confirms no crits (as opposed to the incorporeal quality annoyingly). Thinking of ghost touch I read that section several times looking for a no crit reference, silly rules.

Male HP(104/104 or 125*/125*) Gnoll Barbarian 7 - Invulnerable Rager

I was thinking there were some rules around incorporeal undead and no anatomy. That's okay let's see if it can take another round of that punishment.
I just read the pathfinder rules and I have been playing incorporeal undead wrong for sometime...I had the 3.5 rules stuck in my head.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I've lost count of the 3.5 rules I was utterly convinced were correct until I actually checked :).

Linah is able to surpress the sadness the wailing spirit has washing over her as she begins an incantation to summon Sarenrae's grace to the hall. She is momentarely startled by the chilling touch sending tendrils of cold through her bones, but through sheer determination Linah is still able to hold on to and cast the spell. Thin strands of light emerge from the stonework and grasp towards the undead edimmuses.

Attempt to cast Concecrate by casting defensivly: 1d20 + 6 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 3 + 4 = 28 vs DC19, success! \o/

I'm really happy that taking Combat casting paid off. I wouldn't have dared to try casting the spell otherwise.

Linah's spell forms a circle around her target, the two undead within clearly discomforted by the holy evocation.

I question whether, in her rage, Nuveril has even registered the negative energy's effects on anyone else yet, as she's made the saves. Anyway, I somehow doubt the edimmu will move to the far wall of the cavern and obligingly off itself out of range if she asks nicely. Hope she doesn't kill Khalid. :P

I should stand slightly corrected. You've established the range of the edimmu's energy drain at 20'. With the post level about 10' below the platform and the water a few feet below that, Khalid is currently out of range (although on top of the post will be).

Khalid:

Despite the fear racing through your mind you have the presence of forethought to identify the patch as dreaded green slime. Your surrounded by the stuff!

You recall once contact has been made the slime will continue to devour flesh and organic material. On the first few seconds of contact this round unfortunately, the slime can be scraped off (destroying the scraping device), but after that it must be frozen, burned, or cut away (generally dealing damage to the victim as well).

Nuveril dashes past Grall, the adjacent spirit unable to respond. It manages to evade her hammer however, the edimmu shrinking away from it. It doesn't seem fearful but certainly aware of its potency.

Sorry the map isn't clearer. I've got Grall at the bottom of the steps with Linah up a little bit higher. O,30 is on the gnoll's level so N,29 is fine.

The edimmu focus their attacks on Linah from above and just below. The first one blocking the steps is preventing a flank. She is struck several times, the second edimmu connecting just above the priestess's heart and numbing her whole torso.
