Before anything, this, so far, is a closed group. We might open it up to one or two more individuals once we hash some things out, but the intent here is to discuss things not recruit. Not yet, at least.

If you are not one of the folks I PM'd to join, please do not post here. If you are interested at the idea, please instead PM me.

With that out of the way, we where discussing the idea of forming a CORE only PFS group. Some of the idea here was that everyone would play a single character throughout, essentially leveling up rather closely together, and forming a consistent team. But, at the same time, at least the majority of the players would also take turns as the DM, both to help prevent as much "I can't play that one" as possible, but also to reduce DM Burnout and also offer everyone chances to see how other DM's do things.

But, I also wanted to give everyone a bit of an open floor to discuss issues we might encounter, what sorts of things everyone might want to get from the experience, and whatever other aspects of this we want prior to actually doing it.

This is likely the character I will be using. Not exactly a brand new character as I'd hinted earlier was the preference, but close enough. I'm not against making another character if this is an issue, but at the same time, I'd rather not start a third Core Character I may not otherwise use.

Currently this is what credit I have with the character:
1.) The Confirmation
2.) Mists of Mwangi <DM>
3.) Frozen Fingers of Midnight <DM>
4.) The Seagang Expedition

I also do not mind at all doing something for no credit if it would help the group to get closer in level range.

I also do recall that there was a request to try to avoid Season 0 when able, (as a few folks had already done a lot of them in Core).

I'm okay with that, personally.

I also have access to a lot of the Specials, which might also be a possibility at some point.

It would be helpful though, if everyone involved would list which Scenarios are off limits, or which you have played in, but can run.

My original thought when I was brainstorming this, was to play some sort of thematic or continuous story with the scenarios. I had came across THIS thread while perusing the boards and it's what kind of gave me the idea. I don't have a ton of experience with seasons 0-4 and the metaplots and thought this might be a good way to experience them. I'm probably the least experienced one of the group, and am open to suggestions on this.

At this point, I only have one Core character, and most of the scenarios were Season 0 or evergreens so I'm not very limited in that regards. For this campaign I would be starting a fresh character, though I'm currently GMing a Core game right now so I could credit that as well.

As for characters, I don't have any ideas that I'm really tied to at this point and would like to see what the group is thinking of bringing. Some that interest me at this point would be a bard, a TWF ranger, a conjurer, or maybe a cleric. I'm pretty open in this regard.

I agree. Especially as Core is more limited, and just as an example, when I DM it might mean you lose the Cleric. Similarly if onle one person makes a Wiz or Sorc, or a martial.

Aside from simply asking on the forums, though, I dont really have any more ideas. Maybe Jesse Davis?

I agree we should add another at least. I would not even mind adding someone who does not GM but stays for all the adventures who IS playing a healer so we always have one there. Pick anyone you like except for this one guy I played with a few times via PbP. He made this really weird warpriest that was a straight rip off of Thor, even the name. The guy was horrible, mean to everyone, asking to do PvP, what a loon.... anyone but him...

also- is the intent to start with a 0 xp Core character? if so then maybe we should discuss who will be doing what so as to ensure party balance. Would hate for the first scenario to be 4 lvl 1 wizards and a rogue.

For me it will be a brand new character although I'm about to finish GMing a core game and could apply it to this one. But I do agree that we should discuss what we want to play so we are somewhat balanced. We also have to consider that we will be losing someone every game to GM.

I was only think that simply because I have this one at such a low level, and also another one, and it's unlikely that, if I made a third one, I'd wind up every using them for anything else. I have no issue at all taking no credit here and there so everyone catches up, or being a little ahead if it's not a problem. Or I can make a brand new character, I'd just rather not if I don't have to. (I'm also around the -30 character slot)

Sounds great, and welcome. I have opened up the Game Play thread for dotting.

Currently we are still discussing things for the campaign as a whole. I believe I have the only actual character at this point, (simply because I have one that's already low level, but I can make another brand new one if it's an issue for anyone).

At the very top of the page, as a spoiler, I have listed thus far what Scenrios are "off limits" to a degree, based on what others have already played and or run. Some of them, I think can still be used, as long as the person that had already played them or run them hasn't done so with this character and is still able to get credit here.

Or, I don't at all mind eating credit in order for others to catch up. So I think I could run The Confirmation and Frozen Fingers of Midnight for no credit.

I did send out a message this morning to another person who I believe may be interested. I guess if we end up with 7 it wouldn't be the worst thing.

As for characters, I think we definitely need some overlap. We don't want to end up with nobody that can used a CLW wand just because the cleric is the GM. Like I mentioned earlier, I have a few classes I would be interested in so I can pick something to fill in any gaps we may have.

I noticed some of the scenarios you crossed out are evergreens. No reason they couldn't be played again if we needed.
