I think you looked at the wrong spot, since Ghost Scorpions only have a touch AC of 11.

0 Dex, +1 size. Even if they had a higher Dex, they lose that bonus by being Flatfooted. Unless this one is special and has a Deflection bonus somehow?

So when do we/how fast do we level, out of curiosity? This AP has had a lot of encounters really fast so far, I'm surprised. It seems like it'd be one of the faster leveling ones.

So far we've fought a scorpion, three constructs, an elemental, two beetles, and now a mimic(?), which is kind of crazy actually.


You'll level up once you finish this tomb. And there's only one more serious encounter after this one.


So it's been 11 days since Corv posted. Is he pulling another Lucy on us?

This AP is hilarious. AC 19+ at level 1 is cruel in the best way.

Everybody roll 15 or higher!


The really funny part is how its bite damage alone is virtually guaranteed to knock out most of you in one hit.


Ok guys, real talk. You're almost done with this tomb, so I went ahead and took a look at the encounters in the next one. There are about four or five enemy types that have DR similar to what you've seen here. And this is all BEFORE you reach Level 3, which is when Laleh and Sneferka get their Dex-to-damage feats.

Basically, it's going to be a very similar slog to what you've dealt with here. Ptolem (and Talos to a lesser extent) will be the only one dealing any significant damage for about half of the fights, while the rest of you crowd around offering aid and encouraging words. I'm sure you guys won't have fun with that, and contrary to popular belief, I don't get any entertainment out of watching you suffer. At least not for that long.

So we have a few options:

1) Tough it out until level 3, and hope you don't get TPK'd or bored to death by then.

2) Everyone gets a free retrain, similar to Ptolem's treatment, after you finish this tomb. You can make yourselves better suited for dealing damage. I'd even let you use more Path of War stuff if you want; Rynjin is already playing a PoW class, so why not let you all have that option?

3) We ditch this whole mess entirely! I'd be more than happy to run something completely different, if you guys are sick of this s~@+. I'm actually really interested in doing a Mutants and Masterminds game, since we seemed to have fun with Rynjin's.

Anything but option 3, I've wanted to play this AP since it came out. Unless you hate running it, I'd like to continue.

Sneferka could easily be Str based, to be honest.

I kinda want to stick with it honestly. I think we can powerhouse it until level 3 if we keep brute forcing it with heals out the ass and maybe a little metagaming.

I'd be up for retraining. Might ditch the whip entirely, it's such a fun idea on paper but in practice, it sucks.


It's actually pretty great once you get the Feats. 15 ft. Reach is insane.

Oh, definitely. And being able to threaten all of it, and do insane amounts of AoOs as well? It's sick. But it doesn't come truly online until like what, level 7?


Earlier if you drop the Dex to damage bit.

We're already metagaming plenty with me telling you all this. I don't want to spoil everything for you guys.

So, does everyone agree with option 2? You can retrain everything - class, abilities, equipment (like, say, armor for Kael) upon leveling up, which will be very soon.


I really do have to ask what the ever-loving f&$& Paizo was expecting the standard party for this AP to look like to start. Four Barbarians?

Constructs are immune to many spells. Resistant to damage, so only dedicated damage dealers can attack them. ALL types of damage, even, because Hardness applies to elemental damage as well (unlike DR). So blaster casters are useless as well.

That leaves big 2H weapon users and Clerics to keep them alive the only real viable choice...which is very odd.


I've gotten into the habit of doing this in some of my other games, and it seems it'd be useful for you Cube, so here's my level up breakdown:

Warder 2

+1 BaB
+1 Fort and Ref saves
+9 HP (7 HP from d12 HD, +2 Con)
+1 Intimidate, Kn. Religion, Kn. History, Climb, Swim
+2 Acrobatics

Gained: Armiger's Mark! One Stance! One Maneuver Known! One Maneuver Readied!

New Discipline Access (Path of War Expanded added new options): Piercing Thunder Discipline!

New Maneuver Known: Bronze Lancer's Edge (Piercing Thunder)
New Stance: Running Hunter's Stance (Primal Fury)

Minor Rebuild:

Trade +1 HP Favored Class for +1/4 of a Golden Lion or Silver Crane Maneuver (x2).

Trade Hunting Party (Golden Lion) Maneuver for Piercing Strike (Piercing Thunder Maneuver)
