Januzaj awaits his turn in his comrades' initiative.
-----------------------------------------------------
Scribes gone ape, round 4.
Greydrake slashes his kukris at Yannis, for a total of 8 hurt.
Kardiv swings his axe. Axe, flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25Dmg: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
It comes down and Yannis is pretty hurt, slightly wobbly on his feet too.
Kutukan & Januzaj
Yannis (-21)
Kutukan
|
Kutukan pulls a length of rope out of his pack and uses it to secure the two downed scribes. Once they're both securely trussed up he uses his healing wand, first to restore his allies to health then to bring the prisoners back from the brink of death.
"I want answers from somebody."
By my count that's five more shots from the CLW wand--two to Greydrake, one to Kardiv, one each to the scribes.
Kutukan
|
"We're the pros from the lodge, and we just knocked the monkey out of your friends," Kutukan mutters to himself.
He is, however, self-aware enough to know that many find his presence to be off-putting. Accordingly, rather than interact with the man in the closet directly, he limits himself to helping the diplomatic efforts of the more approachable members of the party.
Aid Another: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Greydrake
|
"Hurry up and get your ass out here! Knocked out two of your friends that were trying to turn into some sort of apes. The seem better now. What in the nine hells is going on in here?!?"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Wow, think we're going to have to physically remove him from that closet.
| Chyrone |
"N-n-no :(, i'll come out, just don't hurt me."
The doors opening, a slightly chubby robed scribe stumbles out of hiding.
Getting himself as proper as can be, he notices you stabilizing his fellow scribes, his attitude changes to relief.
"They're still alive then? Thank you..thank you.
My name is Saldak and these two are Kardanik and Yannis, two of my three fellow scribes."
He looks saddened.
"Trouble started after that pathfinder brought some idols.
There was a sudden mist recently, it turned them insane...hairy too and they beat Melgin to death."
You notice a beaten up body he points at several meters away against the wall.
"Nigel must be somewhere still, he'd not lave this place under any circumstance that's not life threatening.
Speaking of which....you being here, means the way to getting out of this place is clear, yes?"
Greydrake
|
"I wouldn't assume anything is clear in these mists. Once we know this room is secure, we'll take you and those two back to the entrance. We have to go that way anyway." While Januzaj continues to question Saldak, Greydrake begins searching the room for any other clues.
Take 20 for 27 on Perception
Kutukan
|
"Your friends are looking better since we knocked them out. Let's see how their minds are doing."
Kutukan makes sure that Yannis is securely tied up before using his wand to heal Yannis's most severe injuries and restore him to consciousness.

See briefing spoiler Kn. History 15 & 20 for reference ^^.
If you passed those...unfortunately you guys didn't.
Yannis: "But if the idols are connected, you're sure to find them at the grand hall."
Saldak: "Be careful, there's still another exhibit and some facilities left in the other wing of the museum."
Greydrake
|
Greydrake looks at the others, Probably best to get these three out of here now. Then we can decide whether to head straight for the grand hall or check out the other wing first." Barring further discussion, Greydrake will help to lead everyone back to the entrance, moving slightly ahead and scouting for trouble in case anything has crept in behind us in the mists.
Take 10 on Stealth for 10.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Kutukan
|
"Sounds good to me. I'd rather clear this place out wing by wing so nothing pops out behind us."
Kutukan follows along behind Greydrake, keeping an eye out for trouble.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Can you take 10 on an opposed roll like Stealth?
Greydrake
|
Can you take 10 on an opposed roll like Stealth?
Yep, immediate danger and distracted are the conditions where you cannot take 10. You're gambling that the 10 plus modifier is going to be good enough to beat the other guy(s) (who could also take 10 on their Perception btw).
| Chyrone |
Before you leave, Saldak frantically searches his desk and produces a piece of cloth. Made of beaten bark, there's a label on it.
“Tik Taan Idols, courtesy of Lugizar Trantos”
It holds not only a warning against the idols’ corrupting powers, but also a powerful chant that dispels their influence over men.
This chant can only be used by a bard.
To Kutukan, you can use this as per a scroll of 'break enchantment' on any person affected by the mist.
Saldak: "This, it's supposed to help against the evil influence, or supersticious 'mumbo-jumbo', as Nigel called it."
Up to you guys what you wish to do with this.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After the three scribes leave the museum with haste, the door to the East Exhibit awaits you.
A large placard above the entryway to this hall reads "Hunting the Beasts of Legend" in great block letters. This gigantic chamber is relatively free of mist, and darkness is held at bay by braziers of radiant light.
Behemoths occupy these halls, great taxidermy nightmares such as a two-headed bear easily taller than an ogre; a great desiccated beetle, its carapace larger than the face of the clock tower of Absalom’s Clockwork Cathedral;
A massive specimen of chimera, its jaws open in a mock roar; and an assembled skeleton of a tyrant lizard.
The walls here are studded with strange masks, staves, spears, and other implements of long forgotten cultures, most likely used in ritual hunts of the beasts preserved here.
Despite being antiques, the teeth look exceptionally sharp and the memory of the other exhibit lays still fresh in your memory.
These creatures were no pushover when 'alive'.....
Kardiv Pern
|
Kardiv shakes his head upon seeing the chimera, I hope that we don't see that one returned from the dead. The warriors were bad enough, but I doubt we could handle these monsters.
| Chyrone |
As you admire the creatures, you hear a crack and the flapping of...wings? Turning to the wall, you notice two hideous flying heads.
Perc Greydrake: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Perc Januzaj: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Perc Kardiv: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Perc Kutukan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Greydrake: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Januzaj: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Kardiv: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Kutukan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Bat head Green: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Bat head Pink: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
These flying heads are vargouilles. Evil outsiders that can paralyze with their screams.
These flying heads are vargouilles. Evil outsiders that can paralyze with their screams.
They can also turn other humanoids into vargouilles by 'kissing' their paralyzed victims.
Batheads, round 1.
Kutukan & Greydrake
Green bathead
Kardiv
Pink bathead
Januzaj
Bold are up.
Greydrake
|
"Well, at least its not the animals." Having no idea what he's dealing with, Greydrake looks first at the terrain and then at the foes. He slides to his right and moves to meet the green one, thinking he has spied a crack in its wood that he could pry apart with a kukri.
Move action to study. Move action to advance.

I don't know what those things are, but if it bleeds, we can kill it.
I am reminded of the 1st Predator movie.
Batheads, round 1.
Kutukan throws bad mojo onto green.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 -2 Attack for 8 rounds.
Greydrake moves forward.
Green bathead flies forward, then lets out a sharp scream.
