Ozak eyes the flower warily.

Something weird about that flower. Why would an orc leader wear one?

Ozak thinks Tarsk may be under some kind of magical control.

Ozak moves to one side, giving Tarsk a clearer route towards Thoku. He watches Tarsk's face... expecting Tarsk to be fixated on Thoku and watching what is behind him. Once Ozak thinks Tarsk is no longer watching him he crouches in the bog (making him less obvious) and quietly moves up towards Tarsk from behind.

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

If Tarsk seems unaware of him he will move to within 5 feet, and then reach over and try to snatch the flower away.

Hopefully Tarsk will be flat-footed to me and not get an AoO against this.

If Ozak succeeds he throws the flower away into the bog.

Tarsk howls as the Ozak pulls at the flower. The daggertooth heaves and the flower rips from the warrior's head: a flower of serrated petals and a fleshy tendril withing and flapping in the air. Tarsk gurgles, and collapses to the ground, dead before his head lands on the soil. Five nuts roll out from the gaping wound.

The two orc warriors slip into the water and disappear.

The flower curls about Ozak's arm, already rotting away into slime.

Whatever that stuff was, I don't want it on me!
Ozak puts his arm back in the water, and splashes it around trying to wash off the slime.

"Yeah, I thought something was weird there. Anyone ever seen that before?"

"I've heard of people being nuts, but I thought that was just an expression. But here's a guy who had actual nuts in his head. Ha ha!"

Don't know what knowledge check would work here but in case it's dungeoneering: (I also have local)

Knowledge (dungeoneering) just in case: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Ozak then begins searching Tarsk's body and the area around it, looking for the knife.

I'll take 20 on the perception check, which gives me a 28. I assume that's good enough.

Ozak pulls out Tarsk's knife and looks it over. "I wonder what's so special about this?" He tries to determine if it is poisoned.

Perception?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

After looking at it he offers it to Choot and Shakraal. "Maybe it's magic? I dunno."

"very well have all the tribe and the slaves wear wet wrappings while we travel this bog that way the pollen won't enter any and take them" chief thoku commands

-Posted with Wayfinder

The chiefs words are obeyed, and all wear wet rags about their faces as they bravely march deeper into the marsh. They way is slow, and the tribe is wary of entering any further into the haunted swamp. But, examples are made, and Thoku's warriors remember their strength.

Deeper into the swamp they travel, and the air is thick with fog. Unseen things flap in the darkness, toads and insects chirp in the brush. The still waters churn, occasionally with the movements of eels and snakes and hidden fish. But, nothing will unseat the mettle of an orc warrior! The Bleeding Storm are brave! They will wrest this giant-felling weapon from the marsh, and expand the horde even more. The banner of the Bleeding Storm will fly proud and true!

With grim purpose, Thoku leads his prized Fist: Shakraal Bloodscreamr, Ozak Badaxe, and Jugag Giantblood; Kearn Dead-eye, Choot Doom-Speaker, and their slaves, deeper into Ghostlight Marsh. Bravely, they wade through the deepest of waters. They are no cowards! They will not suffer a straw death! They will go gladly to the Destroyer's Horde, bringing many lives with them to serve as slaves for the Doom of All things!

And, their bravery is answered! A great many-headed beast: scales and fangs, tails and claws, bursts from the still waters of the swamp, seeking to catch mighty Thoku and his fist unawares. But the Pride of the Bleeding Storm are crafty, well-versed in Verex's tricks! The guile of the Rat God will not defeat them! They are mighty warriors, bound by blood to serve the Destroyer!

This is just the regular spell enlarge person, yes? So I have to wait for the next round for it to take effect (as the spell has a 1 round casting time)?

Ozak feels his body begin to change.
Hmmm... time to have some fun! He tries to remain close to Thoku to allow the chief to complete the spell.

He examines the creature before him closely. Looks like it is vulnerable at the neck.

Move action to Study target. Was going to roll Knowledge but I don't have any relevant ones. So Ozak assumes it's just a beast.

Knowledge (nature) 15:

Hydra are fierce creatures! Nulgreth has blessed with great strength! The shamans speak of their blood holding the smoke of Sezelrian, many use their life-flow in sacred rituals to the Chiefs in Fire and Blood. Their meat is strong-tasting and many warriors prove their worth by sending these mighty beasts to Zagresh!
Thir claws are sharp, their fangs many! They fall under many blows that shatter the bones about their lungs and heart. Or, if great blows cut their heads from their bodies. But, their doom is also their strength. For every head that is send to the ground, TWO shall quickly grow in its place. The wounds must be burned with fire or acid, else the heads return!
Translation: sunder each of the 5 heads, and you kill it. Or, you can hit it a lot on the body to kill it. It'll regrow heads in 1d4 rounds, though, unless the wounds are cauterized with flame or acid

Kern and Grell step forward to attack the hydra. Kern will specifically aim for a head. "Try to remove its heads, but make sure to quickly hit the stump with fire or acid, otherwise it will regrow two in its place!"
I've never used sunder before! this is fun!:

Ok, so that's a combat maneuver,
sunder: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 CMD: 21 EXCEEDS! HIT! Hardness = 0 so, damage = 5 (hit dice) loses 1 head
incurs an AoO for his trouble
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 miss
regrows: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds

Kern's bone-beak cuts through the air, swirling the mists of the swamp in its wake. It sinks deep into one of the beasts' necks and rends bone and flesh alike. A great spray of blood showers dread One-Eye, blessing him with the creature's life, and the head lands to the ground behind him. The stump glistens wetly and begins to swell in two places. The Dead-Eye's slave descends on the beast, raking her two claws across its flank and staining the waters with its life.

Behind, Choot holds back his servant but calls upon his own magic to once again inflict pain upon a foe. Once more, Sezelrian's smoke spills from his lips. Greenish-gray mist pools in his outstretched hand, coiling about itself into a large writhing maggot. The shaman immediately swallows the grub, crushing it between his teeth, and spilling black blood onto his lips. Then, the beast howls in pain another maggot bursts out from its side. It flops into the water and dissolves into an inky black puddle on the surface.

Sezelrian's smoke spills from the wyrdcaster's mask, as well. It floats through the air, leaving a green-yellow trail in the fog as it enters Kern's eyes. The hunter roars as his vision sharpens. Everything is clear. He can see the precise place to strike the creature's neck!

"Maneaters like this often have belongings from their kills piling up in their nests."

He finds a few coins and such, and then digs out a slightly battered Mithral Breastplate!

Choot watches as Ozak digs through the refuse of the Hydra lair with disinterest until a gleam of a gem catches his eye. At first it appears to be mundane but upon further inspection the holy symbol of Zagresh is emblazoned upon it!

Did Choot imagine that? Either way, the fanatical cleric cannot stay away. He digs through the mud to locate it brushing the mud away and casting a spell upon it to detect if it has magical properties.

The soft glow causes a nod from the cleric, his powers are not great enough to know what exactly it does so he dons it. Foolish, perhaps, but a cleric of Zagresh knows no fear! Indeed as it conveys its abilities to him Choot chuckles in delight.

He hurries to the Chieftan's side. "Mighty Thoku. Zagresh has given me a token of his own power this day. We follow the right path, blessed by the Destroyer. To celebrate this victory, we should have a small feast and sacrifice a slave to ensure that Zagresh knows that we appreciate his blessings!"

Sorry, totally thought I responded to Kern's post.

On the third day, Kern spots a powerful bird in flight! It swoops and soars through the air on great wings before landing in front of the great hunter. It bows its head in obedience, accepting Kern as its master!

To honor the Chiefs in Fire and Blood, a slave is sacrificed that very night and the tribe feasts on the meat of the slain hydra. As the slave's blood drips to the earth below, the grasses and soils are stained red and the whither to black, and an unnatural cold fills the hillock. The Destroyer's eye is on this place!

Long into the night, the tribe revels, their cook fires pierce the night sky with their light, and cloud the stars with their smoke! Soon, Mighty Thoku calls the march, and commands the tribe to continue on their quest. They march furthe rand deeper into Ghostlight Marsh, always guided by the keenest eyes of the Fist. Soon, the soft, clinging muck of the swamp gives way to moist earth--a small island rises above the sill waters of the swamp and haunted river. Trees and leaves close in from all sides, as the Fist stomps deeper in.

Then, Jugag's keen eyes spot a circle of standing stones. They have arrived!

Reember, you need to find a faerie, kill it, and then shove a will'o wisp in its skull to open the door to the vault

Choot removes any hood or obscurement from Thrulls face and head. "Let them see what evils befell this faerie, perhaps they will think to gain vengeance upon us for this one's suffering..."

Choot's eyes glimmer at the thought of snuffing the life from a new creature the likes of which he has never slain before. After all life is about the journey ya' know?

The hunter has learned much of the ways of the forests, and the soft creatures that call it home. He knows that the ghostlights (will o' wisps) hide in dark forests and swamps, in places like these. Often, they hide in the bowls of trees or under rock until nightfall. Then, they come out and wander in the distance, leading all to their doom. They are often drawn to death, and the fastest way to draw them near is to kill a thinking creature, especially something bound to the forest.

Kern rips a leaf from a bush and rubs the green across his eyes. Soon, his eyes glow with a green light and he can see through the plants as clearly as water. In the distance, four satyr dance in a small clearing. One of them should work for the spell. The carnage of their death, may draw a will o' wisp near.

Ozak enjoys the festivities, but keeps eyeing the standing stones.

I don't trust those things. Who knows what god they are dedicated to? And now we're lookin' for fairies. Can't trust them either!

Afterwards he stands watch and spends his time sharpening Skullbiter. He sees Kern looking around for evidence of fairies, and walks over.

"Find anything?"

"There are four satyr nearby. Satyr are not powerful creatures, but we must approach them cautiously, as they can use their magical wind instruments to ensorcel us. I recommend plugging your ears before we approach them."

With that, Kern takes some tree sap and mud around one of Grell's whiskers and makes a simple paste that he stuffs into his ears, using the whisker as a "pull-tab" in order to remove the paste after the battle. Basically, making some modern earplugs MacGyver style. :)

Ozak watches Kern get to work with the whiskers and mus. He nods, and begins to do the same, using twine instead of pulling whiskers from Grell's nose.

He gets up and heads towards the trees, and turns to look at the others.

"Everyone ready?"

Once we get going Ozak will take 10 on stealth checks for a total of 20.

The Fist marches through the swamp, trampling the underbrush beneath the might of their feet. They seek silence, but they are the Bleeding Storm! They care not for the silent craft of the Rat God! They are sworn to the Destroyer and Nulgreth! The Blood God and Zagresh guide their steel and fill their blood with wrath!

The crash through the trees and the satyrs are ready, eyes dark and filled with hate.

Jugag UP

Can you add an icon for my new birdie-friend? I don't have the time to go find a good one for now, so anything that looks like a bird, pelican, etc. will do.

Kern and Grell both move toward the Satyrs, and Kern's new egret friend circles around behind the group of them.

One of the satyrs scoops earth from the ground. He whispers words into it, filling it with Selzarian's smoke. He pours the earth into his pipes and blows. The earth floats through the air, carried by the smoke of the Fire God. Leave this place.. You don't want to be here. You don't belong..

The smoke blows and fills ears and eyes of the Fist. It pours up their noses as they breathe, lungs heaving with battle rage and blood-lust. Jugag, Shakraal, and Ozak stand strong against the power of Sezelrian's smoke. The others, fierce Thoku himself, fall prey to their might.

In what way? What happens on a failed save?

Ozak rushes forward and twirls his axe in the air.

"Fey magic or orc blood - it's all the same to Skullbiter!" he shouts, as he crashes into a satyr.

Additionally, divine spells cast on them by demon worshipers have a 10% chance of failure. This racial trait replaces the orc ferocity racial trait.

It's an auditory effect, but the bonus from ear-pluggage (+5) didn't beat the DC for the spell.
