As I step out I look around to notice Gregory addressing me once he lands. I scoff at the dragon before folding my arms together "I grow tired of these insults, calling me some fools replacement. You however have at lest some respect in introduction which puts you a step above these others at lest. My name is Gilgamesh." I say keeping my head high
I mutter under my breath "damn I missed."
He stands up a bit straighter seeing Gilgamesh's posture. "Well I don't think either of us knew much about him, so to assume he was a fool is forward. almost anyone can be ambushed, but we shouldn't dwell on him. we do have headway we need to make. It is nice to meet you Gilgamesh"
I pat Roland on the shoulder. "It was a good shot, but you need to hold your arm steadier. Anyway! Let's be off, I've got... 'food' for the trip."
I turn around some 50 yards ahead of the group and wave my arms. "What's taking you lot so long?!"
I begin to walk at a leisurely base speed of 50 ft. Quickly out walking Annette and not turning around to wait. Keeping my eyes on the horizon.
I run up to Roland and hop on his shoulder. "Don't mind if I hitch a ride right? You're the fastest and I don't feel like running." I say with a slight giggle.
My eyes narrow at Gregory to his words "Yes but only fools like him die." I wave my hand in dismissal to the last of his sentence. "Then let us be on with it I-." I cut myself off to look at Seifer up ahead talking to Roland, beginning to walk in their direction as my eyes lock onto her.
I do not slow my pace as Seifer climbs onto my shoulder. "When I say to get off. You do. No questions." Bow still drawn in my left hand, walking steadily forward watching the horizon.
Well at least he's not throwing curses at me so i'll take it Gregory Grabs the chain belt around his waist, and half fashions it around his chest almost like suspenders. a Hand rests easy on the cool metal as he follows the group quietly.
I run up to Roland and hop on his shoulder. "Don't mind if I hitch a ride right? You're the fastest and I don't feel like running." I say with a slight giggle.
"I know, I just don't want to walk." I say trying to find a comfortable place upon Roland's shoulder.
"Just how lazy can you get, Seifer?" I ask whilst jogging slightly to "keep up" with Roland.
"Fairly lazy." I say continuing to eat my ration. "Are you jealous I can relax so often and still hold my figure? I mean, looking at you, you could do with some vacation time."
"A Knight of Sky Fortress doesn't take time to enjoy such simple pleasantries. Constant vigilance!" I say as I hit my breastplate with pride.
"See this is why I'm a 'simple' merchant." I say making air quotes and laughing a bit. "I work my own hours, do what I want, and support those who need it, such as my father."
"Though I do take some pleasure in training less experienced individuals. Perhaps I could help you sometime Seifer?" I say with a chuckle. "Though I merely jest. I've seen your skills and I'd say it's a bit of a toss up between us"
"'Toss Up,' right, more like how far away do we start and what's the area around us." I laugh. "It is fun to be with you again Anette, even if it's hard to get that stick out from your rear."
I look at myself a bit and take note of some outstanding wounds. "Hey, Anette, you were trained to handle stuff like this right? I forgot to bring potions..."
I clench my fist at Seifer then smile softly shaking my head to Anettes words while keeping a leisurely pace with the group seeming unhindered by our speed "Knowing your place but not your betters. In time I suppose."
"Not even slightly. Though I've been carrying around some books on healing for a while; I'll get to them soon enough." I gesture at my haversack.
"Damnit, I though you were doing that last time we talked..." I sigh.
Gregory follows behind more than content to just listen to the conversation for the time being.
I keep walking in silence, my eyes unlocking form Seifer as I begin to scan the horizon.
"Hey, I noticed Seifer and maybe a few others are a little banged up; maybe we should stop by Sky Fortress first and get a little R&R? We might get some more supplies we need too," I say to the group as I keep up with Roland.
"I feel fine." Still looking along the horizon as I walk, keeping an ever vigilant eye out for enemies.
"Some rest and potions sounds great, I love sleep and drinks." I chuckle out to Anette.
"I agree to the drinks part. if we need to take a break then so be it." He says from the back of the group
I keep my eye out as well "Supplies would probably be for the best, I care not for the cheap spirits they have."
"Oh get the stick out of your ass Gilly and enjoy yourself."
"Then it's settled. To Sky Fortress for supplies. It's quite early still today, so after Seifer's been treated we might still head out."
I keep walking while looking at the horizon, being stalwart and silent.
I stretch, and observe my surroundings.
Gregory has his hands in his pockets following the group, looking at the scenery
I look out off of Roland's shoulder.
I look around keeping my head high with my eyes scanning around me with my arms still folded in front of my chest.
My demeanor remains the same, not hinting that I'm aware of their presence at all, and I ready a performance for the instant they make any suspicious moves.
I've not let my guard down. Waiting for the first sight of a hostile creature, or a dragon that I'm not being paid to let live, to show it self. I keep my stiff pace and keep scanning the horizon.
Gregory grabs at the chains draped across his chest, and keeps walking with the group. if need be he could quickly unwrap his weapon from around his person. "So Anette if it's not too personal how did you meet seifer?" It was probably a good idea to not seem like they knew something was following them. if there was something there and gregory wasn't just imagining thing. He did feel a sense of unease with Roland, but hopefully that would pass.
"Seifer had come across me while I was still trying to make a future for myself. I was living in a broom closet and working for a merchant at the bazaar and also at the Academy. Seifer caught my attention pretty easily." I chuckle nonchalantly.
Naturally I sit on Roland's shoulder waiting for him to decide to stop and settle down for the day to hop off.
"I know my beauty is hard to miss, especially the way you used to look little miss Anette." I smirk.
I walk off the path a little ways before starting to build a campsite. Trying to mask any light from a fire with trees/brush.
"A broom closet eh? Well I know that feeling it's hard to turn one's opinion of me with such a gruesome visage, but once people trust you it's easy to help them and get help. Now how did i meet seifer? I don't quite remember who saw who first. I do remember asking for donations to help a family that had recently lost their home to a fire." Gregory Unpacks his bag, and set's up his small tent and cot. "Anybody need any help unpacking?" Gregory says looking around.
I hop off Roland's shoulder and begin setting up my tent.
"Gregory, I'm pretty sure you saw me first, and I gave you a few platinum to help out. I decided to swing back later and noticed you hadn't really gotten much more than that and decided to help out personally."
After my tent is set up, I throw my stuff inside and proceed to make it comfortable for myself. Emerging about 10 minutes later.
I drag a log over to the center of the campsite.
"I'll go collect tinder for a fire. If anyone wants to join me, so be it"
I get up and begin walking into the woods, picking up small twigs and snapping sizable but easy to break branches.
I accompany Roland in collecting firewood, yawning somewhat nonchalantly.
