Special Material Klar

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

A klar is both a weapon and a shield, but unlike shield spikes on shields, it is not two separate things. How do you determine it's price for special materials? As a shield, a weapon, or both?

Grand Lodge

I'm surprised no one has an opinion.

From what I can tell most of the time cost is independent of item type and actually depends on the original item itself. for times when it does matter I'd go with whats most applicable (i.e. alchemist silver is light weapon while mithral would treat it as shield. It's categorized as both so use what fits best or most specifically.)

What about the masterwork cost?

For most materials of note, mithril and adamantine, it is included in the material cost.

For the other materials, it would be the same additional cost as making a normal material klar masterwork.

So you would price an adamantine klar as a weapon?

Price whatever ends up being the most expensive.

Worst case, add both prices together, but thats a lil far to me.

There's no actual rule on this, but I think taking whichever is the most expensive is fine, then we're sure the system isnt being gamed.

Grand Lodge

I guess that is a good rule of thumb.

There is no price or even mention of adamantine shields under the armor section. However there is a price for adamantine weapons and it is base weapon +3000
