Halfling Jinx and Halfling Oppurtunist

Rules Questions

Hey weird question here so some background first. My character will be a Halfling witch with the Halfling Jinx Racial trait. I know you sacrifice Halfling Luck to obtain Halfling Jynx and you can increase the negatives you apply to afflicted enemy's saves by gaining the feats Iron will, Lightning reflexes, and/or Great fortitude. My question is if I take the Halfling Opportunist prestige class, do the bonuses to Halfling Luck gained by the class apply to the penalties my Jynx incurs or does it allow me to gain Halfling luck bonuses. Either way it sounds pretty cool one way i get increased debuff ability another i get save bonuses. If i could get an official ruling that would be great.

Conservative judgment: it gives you nothing. Much like taking a class that gives "+1 arcane spellcaster level" when you have no arcane spellcaster levels, you simply get nothing because you have no base ability to increase.

Lenient judgment: You get the bonus, but it is one less. So +1 at 2 and +2 at 4 instead of +2 and +3.

Getting to switch out the ability for a bonus to a feat related to a different racial trait would very much be a house rule, though not necessarily an overpowering one. Taking a prestige class means you get no spell or hex progression, which is pretty painful for a witch.

I would like a ruling please and officially state the ruling

I read the descriptions for halfling luck, jinx and opportunist and I would say that opportunist and jinx would not interact at all. Halfling jinx replaces halfling luck, halfling opportunist modifies halfling luck but halfling luck no longer exists, so there is nothing to modify.

Agreed. If the class feature you're supposedely getting modified is replaced by another features, then those bonuses do not apply to you.
