Thoughts on a new Wizard Archetype

Homebrew and House Rules

This class/archetype grew from a discussion surrounding wizards being able to do something every round - something magical - even at level 1 without having them be overpowered. A member of our party has been running the character and so far its worked out very nicely. I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts on it as a viable option and suggestions for additional feats (We're considering allowing conditions to be added on to the Arcane Channel damage, with a Fort save to negate similar to Dazing Assault and Stunning Assault).

Wizard Archetype: Arcane Channeler.

Some wizards spend less time in academic study of arcane rituals and words of power and instead focus on developing their bodies as conduits for raw magical energy, shaping it into offensive and defensive effects as needed. Magic shaped in this way can be powerful but exhausting, sapping the strength necessary to cast the spells the Wizard has prepared.

Arcane Chaneling (SA)
At 1st level the wizard gains the ability to draw upon the power surrounding him as a result of his magical study and use it to defend himself and attack his foes. The wizard selects one energy type (Acid, Cold, Electricity, Fire or Sonic). As a standard action, the wizard can make a ranged touch atack with a range of 30' that deals damage equal to 1d6 of that energy type per level of the highest level spell the wizard currently has prepared. A successful Reflex save halves this damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the wizard's level + the wizard's Intelligence modifier. At 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the wizard may add a new energy type to his Channeling options - the wizard must declare which energy type he is using at the time the ability is used. Using this ability does not provoke an Attack of Opportunity.

This ability replaces Arcane Bond and Arcane School.

Spell Shield (Sp)
At 5th level the Wizard may sacrifice a prepared spell spell as an immediate action to gain a bonus to AC equal to the spell's level against a single attack. Alternately, the Wizard may elect to gain a bonus to one saving throw instead of gaining a bonus to their armor class. The wizard must be aware of the attack or the effect he is saving against.

This ability replaces the bonus feat at 5th level.

Channeled Reach (Sp)
At 10th level the Wizard may sacrifice a prepared spell as a free action to extend the range of his Arcane Chaneling ability by 10' per level of the spell sacrificed.

This ability replaces the bonus feat at 10th level.

Lingering Channel (Sp)
At 15th level the Wizard may sacrifice a spell of the highest level he has prepared to extend the duration of his Arcane Channeling ability by 1 round. i.e. the target takes damage as normal and the next round takes an equal amount of damage at the start of the Wizard's turn. The initial saving throw applies to both instances of damage.

This ability replaces the bonus feat at 15th level.

Chaneling Mastery (Sp)
At 20th level, the Wizard can sacrifice a spell of the highest level he has prepared to use his Arcane Channeling ability in a 60' line, a 30' cone or a 15' radius effect with a range of 30'.

This ability replaces the bonus feat at 20th level.

New Feats:

Arcane Channeling Focus
preq: Arcane Channeling class feature
Add +1 to the Difficulty Class for all saving throws against the Arcane Channeling ability. This ability stacks with Elemental Focus and Greater Elemental Focus.

Greater Arcane Channeling Focus
preq: Arcane Channeling class feature, Arcane Channeling Focus
Add +1 to the Difficulty Class for all saving throws against the Arcane Channeling ability. This ability stacks with Arcane Channeling Focus, Elemental Focus and Greater Elemental Focus.

Lingering Spell Shield
preq: Spell Shield class feature
When a Wizard uses the Spell Shield class ability, the bonus to AC or the saving throw bonus remains until the end of the wizard's next turn.

This is a repost? And in the wrong forum.

Which forum is the right one? I reposted it here after correcting some stuff - it looked like the other forum wasn't getting any traffic... I'd have moved it or deleted it if that were an option.
