When: December 9th-11th, 2011
Where: Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia
Cost: $5 per session
Links: MacquarieCon, Shadow Lodge, Paizo Event.
Over the three days of MacquarieCon 2011, the Shadow Lodge is bringing you 25 tables of Pathfinder Society including the latest scenarios from Season 3, the Year of the Ruby Phoenix and several sanctioned modules and Specials.
The schedule is currently as follows but, as always, it may change in the lead-up to the Convention if some games don't get the required player numbers so make sure you check back occasionally, and let me know the scenarios you want to play in case I get the opportunity to switch out one in favour of another in higher demand. So, if a game is full and there's nothing else you can play, email me to be wait-listed and I'll see what I can do.
Pathfinder sessions run from 9am to 2pm and from 3pm to 8pm on the Friday and Saturday, and in a single long slot on the Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
Slot 1: Friday 9th December, 9am-2pm
- Crypt of the Everflame, Part 1 (L1-2)
- We Be Goblins! (L1)
- Tide of Twilight (L1-5)
- Sewer Dragons of Absalom (L3-7)
- The Immortal Conundrum (L5-9)
Slot 2: Friday 9th December, 3pm-8pm
- Crypt of the Everflame, Part 2 (L1-2)
- The Frostfur Captives (L1-5)
- Echoes of the Overwatched (L1-5)
- Song of the Sea Witch (L3-7)
- The Ghennet Manor Gauntlet (L5-9)
Slot 3: Saturday 10th December, 9am-2pm

- The Quest for Perfection, Part 1: The Edge of Heaven (L1-5)

- The Harrowing, Part 1 (L8-10)
Slot 4: Saturday 10th December, 3pm-8pm

MacCon has shut down pre-registration BEFORE you guys released the list.
Can we pre-register with the Shadowlodge direct?
Also MacCon is a real screw up compared to previous years (mind you I am talking 15+ years ago). They dont even have session times listed on their site as yet and new games are only NOW hitting the site.

Not so. The registration system on the website should be updated, admittedly, but what it actually says is pre-registration has finished for 2010.
In other words, registration for this year has not opened yet.

OK so just looking for a little guidance.
I have the Friday off, and them am heading for a holiday on the Sat morning so keen to get along and at least experience PFS play in all its glory.
As I will be starting from zero, and only have the friday, what would you suggest registering for as a n00b?
Are the 'in service to' series worth hanging out for? or just get an L1 chatacter and jump straight into play?

OK, go easy, Helaman. MacquarieCon is run by Uni students and they're all taking exams at the moment. There is over a month yet until the actual Convention so there is plenty of time to register once it goes live within the next week or so. As Neil pointed out, you've overreacted to an old notice that states that rego is closed for 2010. Give the kids some slack and appreciate that they're doing this as a hobby in their spare time - just like the rest of us. It will all be up and running soon. Session times for PFS are as I posted above. Standard session times for the Con, however, will very probably be 9-12, 1-4, and 5-8.

It's a real shame you can't make the Saturday morning, Shifty, otherwise I’d have recommended you dive into Crypt of the Everflame. But no worries: if you can only make the Friday, I'd recommend getting your goblin on, and register for We Be Goblins! and The Frostfur Captives. You'll play a pregen goblin in the first, and you can take a new PFS character in the second: either one you've rolled up yourself (according to the rules in the Guide to Organised Play), or by grabbing yourself a standard pregen and running it vanilla or varying it from that base. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to try Tide of Twilight as a level 1 fresher?
Or just play Crypt of the Everflame pts 1 and 2 only?
I wouldn't recommend only signing up to parts of a series. You won't get to finish it and may very well end in the middle of something. Remember, it's not three scenarios, it's a single sanctioned module being played over three slots.
Tide of Twilight is fine with an L1 as indicated.I'm trying to drum up some interest amongst some friends around Bathurst - hoping to come down for one complete day.
Excellent! Hope to see you and your friends there. Registrations should be going live this weekend.

For those of you who will require accommodation, I'm advised that Robert Menzies College at 136 Herring Road, North Ryde is offering single rooms for $75 per night which includes bed linen, towels, 3x meals per day (eat or not), and free Internet.
Enquiries should be directed to Vicky Deane, Member Services & Conference Manager, 02 9936 6012, vicky.deane@rmc.nsw.edu.au.
An alternative option is the Travelodge at Macquarie Uni.

We have made some changes to the schedule for MacquarieCon to reflect demand and open up extra seats at popular tables. Unfortunately, complications with the registration system have delayed the updates until this late stage, but there is still a couple of days left until registration is closed so don't delay. The new schedule is as follows.

- Crypt of the Everflame, Part 1 (L1-2)
- Sewer Dragons of Absalom (L3-7)
- The Immortal Conundrum (L5-9)
Slot 2: Friday 9th December, 3pm-8pm
- Crypt of the Everflame, Part 2 (L1-2)
- Echoes of the Overwatched (2x tables, L1-5)
Slot 3: Saturday 10th December, 9am-2pm
- Crypt of the Everflame, Part 3 (L1-2)
- The Quest for Perfection, Part 1: The Edge of Heaven (2x tables, L1-5)
- The Midnight Mauler (L1-7)
- Carrion Hill, Part 1 (L4-6)
Slot 4: Saturday 10th December, 3pm-8pm
- The Frostfur Captives (L1-5)
- Echoes of the Overwatched (2x tables, L1-5)
- Among the Gods (L3-7)
- Carrion Hill, Part 2 (L4-6)

Registration will close some time after noon on Wednesday. Ensure you've updated your registration here!

Hang on - are these additional tables, games or replacing the earlier scheduling/games ?
Edit - So basically only one T1 game on Friday that isnt a three part one, as it looks like Twilight has been cancelled. I do get that demand and GM availability and the other PFS members in Sydney do have needs/have played other games.
Sucks to be me.
See you Friday afternoon I hope. According to the MacCon site I am still booked in for Echoes of the Overwatched (booked a few weeks back). I hope that the system/scheduling changes don't cancel my existing booking.

Yep registering up for Friday, looks like Echoes it is!
How much 'stuff' are we supposed to bring as far as rulebooks etc?
(personally I prefer to just fish out my trusty EEEPC with the PFSRD)
And assume we just arrive with a pre-built L1? Any other admin?
Looking forward to seeing ya Shifty.

Oh do we have to register (ourselves and characters) for PFS play before the session? Or can that be done on the day?
You can still register for games on the day. Of course, there's no guarantee that there will be a seat free, but you can try.
I'm GMing Among the Gods on Saturday afternoon and last time I checked I only had 3 players. Another player or two would be useful.

MacquarieCon will be held in the following rooms: W5A201-4; W5C210, 211, 213, 232, 234; W5C302, 309-12, 334. I don't know the room allocation for Pathfinder yet, or where registration will be held, so turn up to the building and wander around the various rooms until you find us. A map of the campus is here.

Yeah, 'fraid so - this is the new schedule. We had to cancel some games and replace others due to insufficient numbers to run. That said, it later turned out that the registration system is buggy and so I can't be sure how many people registered. But nothing I can do about that. I tried to contact you about it, but all is not lost, Helaman and Shifty: you can still play in the higher tier games, albeit with a pre-gen, but when your character reaches minimum level for the Chronicle, it can then be applied. So, if you're still up for it, turn up in the morning as well.
See you tomorrow.

It will be much easier if you have registered yourself and your character/s before coming. All you need to remember is your PFS #, and I'll be able to report.
As far as rulebooks are concerned, just make sure you can easily reference any rules that your character uses without having to continually borrow from others if at all possible. Aim for self-containment! ;-)

Thanks to all of you who came! 14 of 16 available GMs ran games for around 40 individual players who filled 93 seats over 19 sessions!
A big thanks to Stacey and the MURPS exec who did a sterling job of navigating the nightmare that is Macquarie University bureaucracy in time to pull it all together. If you’d like to thank them directly, you can do so at their Facebook page here.

The next Pathfinder event is a double games day this weekend at the ANU campus in Canberra. If you’re in Canberra or fancy a trip down for the weekend, support our capital cousins and register right now here.
Next year, you can get your Sydney fix in the usual monthly events that will launch from our Facebook page here.
So, once again, thanks for coming and for your continuing support. All the games have now been reported so please go and check that everything is correct and, if not, email me and I’ll get it fixed up.
We’re still in the process of building a website that will link to all the events we organise and I’ll let you all know when it’s ready. Our facebook page is up and running so, if you haven’t already, please Like it, and use it to give us feedback, ask questions and make requests for what you’d like us to run for you. We’re the Shadow Lodge. We’re here to look after you.
