2)I haven't caught any mention of the incliment climate, are there such conditions here? Survival/endurance checks, penalties for wearing armor, etc

In the back of the PFRPG Beta handbook they have rules for the type of terrain the game takes place in. In the Additional RUles chapter, on page 314, they begin the various type of terrain you should use. I think you should use the rules for Rugged Hills and Light Rubble Desert for the terrain, and as for the climate I believe they explain special desert rules in the LoF Player's Guide, in addition to the "Heat Environment" rules on page 330 of the PFRPG Beta Handbook, though I think that some of the heat rules are a little extreme for applying to a native of a dry, hot region :P

I would be surprised if a map of Golarion were provided in the AP as there is a map provided with the Campaign setting that shows where Katapesh is from a global perspective. If you don't own the campaign setting I believe there is a map to found on these boards (archives of the daily blog)... Katapesh is located directly south of Osirion.
Note: House of the Beast contains a regional map that shows the area that the adventure has taken place in so far and has an article describing these areas.
