Seymore and Adalieh have been quiet for a while, I hope they didn't jump ship. I think I'll wait a couple of days, maybe send them a pm, and start looking for replacements next week.
Just for transparency's sake:
Corso has a listed Climb mod of +4, adding the armor check penalty from his breastplate +1 (-3) and his effective current strength mod of -2 (Str 6) it boils down to Climb -5.
I know that 3 PCs vs. 2 shadows in terrain that favors the undead is too hard, that's why I didn't let them use their AoO. They probably moved out of threat range because of the light cone anyway.
I have sent PMs to Lirana and Seymor to see whether they intend to return. I will give them 24 hours to respond before I start looking for replacements. But let's hope it doesn't come to that.
But don't let that slow you down, rest assured that I will make this work for three PCs in the meantime. It might be a little more challenging for you, but should be manageable if you go in prepared.
Medraut:
You probably know that as a player yourself, but due to your PC's knowledge check he realizes: A couple of potions of shield and/or mage armor might be a good idea...
So Seymor has replied to my PM and told me that he's sorry for the inconvenienc but he will drop out. Now if Lirana does return I would be willing to keep going with four but in case she doesn't, I will start looking for 1-2 replacements.
I have pm'ed one of the players I turned down during recruitment and hopefully he'll be interested. He had applied with a sorcerer, though, so I asked him to come up with a martial character of some sort to better balance out the party.
Quick update:
One of the rejected candidates has declined because he has already enough on his plate and so far Lirana hasn't responded. As soon as I get back home (I'm away for the weekend) I'll put some time and effort in a new recruitment thread to find 1-2 new people.
Again, don't let the lack of players slow you down, in a pinch we can still keep going with three.
There is an Oracle of Life and a cleric applying and it would be a coin toss for me to make a decision there, so please head over here and have a look at them yourself.
We don't strictly need a healer or buffer at this point, we need somebody who can dish out damage, in my opinion. Both the cleric and oracle have the ability to heal regardless of the way they're built - unless the oracle chooses the Inflict-series of spells - and ultimately I don't mind either one of them, class-wise, so long as they don't enter the same niche as Adalieh (who is, apart from her ability to buff, debuff and heal, useless - her damage-dealing capabilities are atrocious).
Two replacements will (hopefully) introduce themselves here soon, I picked a fighter and a luck domain cleric. I think they will complement the group well.
As soon as they have made themselves known I'll introduce them IC, I already have a plan how to do that.
Hey everyone, I'm your new fighter, Lorzub. Looking forward to playing with you guys! I may be a little in and out this weekend, but I'll definitely be ready to go by Monday. In general I'll be able to post plenty on M-F and the weekends will be hit or miss, but depending on what's happening in the storyline I'll make sure to be on as much as I can to keep the story going. Thanks for having me!
Hello! Glad to be joining your party! I read a bit of your gameplay thread, and this seems like an awesome group! This will be my first play-by-post experience, so PLEASE if I make any mistakes or you have any helpful tips, let me know ASAP so I don't make too much of a fool of myself.
Luke is a cleric, but he's also a man who trusts his luck, so he'll spend a lot of time on the front line. If anyone needs to "borrow" some luck, he has his Bit of Luck ability 6 times per day, so don't be shy about asking for some extra fortune before making those important skill checks.
Looking forward to getting to know all you and your characters, cheers!
Just a small caveat: Please do not use as single "pot" of money, because if we lose another player (which I of course hope won't happen) and have to bring in replacements with ample starting money it will inflate the party's wealth.
So split costs however you like, but please track your money separately.
To echo Lucky Luke, I'm also a little new to pbp, as well as a little new to Pathfinder, but not completely green. I will not take any offense to suggestions about my character or corrections of my actions. I've had a blast with what little chance I've had to play Pathfinder thus far and am really looking forward to this to expand my experience.
Also, Corso, I don't know if you were suggesting that I pick up a magic weapon, but I'm not really as familiar with using those in the game. I looked up what I can afford in the core magic section and I can get an adamantine battleaxe, however that is non-magical with a +1 enhancement on attack (why it's in that section?) but I don't know if that would help. Assuming I can still pick something up before I'm introduced IC and there is anything you can think of, please let me know!
So I'm going to go ahead and say that based on our fairly adventurous back stories and your "luck" that perhaps my appearance during one of your scrapes constituted to you as luck. Maybe I didn't so much as save your life, because it looks like you can pretty well take care of yourself, but my chance appearance at a scuffle I heard along some road provided you with the distraction you needed to get the upper hand, and I helped you to finish the job. With that, we became quick friends, seeing the mutual need for someone to watch the others back, and I go with you town to town while you perform cleric duties while we find jobs on the way. It’s possible that the reason we came to Karpad is that while travelling nearby you got some word of strange happenings, disease, disappearances, what have you, coming out of Karpad, and since strange happenings and luck go hand in hand, you insisted that we head this way. I think this would work, unless you had something else in mind. Feel free to edit or fill in anything that you feel would work for your character. I’m going to go ahead and introduce myself with a vague reference to you as my traveling companion and go from there.
Depending on the browser you use you can download a plug-in and that will update you, though sometimes it can lag for a few minutes. I use Google Chrome and my RSS feeds update in the upper-right hand corner of the browser. I'm sure Firefox has something similar too. I don't use internet explorer.
GM Null, were Luke and Lorzub recruited yesterday or today? If I knew that Corso had been strength drained, I might have prepared a couple of Lesser Restoration spells.
