you may roll gm. Shes only getting up later

Grymp |

Ok folks, so here's my plan for the map in combat. I pulled the map out of the scenario. I gave it a coordinate system. I placed my bad guys on H2 and I2 for the first round. I placed you guys at the top of the steps, where you still reside. I placed the Civilians on H1 and I1, albeit 30' up in the air. Since rounds will tend to be swapping back and forth between PCs and NPCs, we'll play this like chess. Let me know where your guys move to, and I'll make the mods on the map. Sound good? Ok, here's the map:
As the creepy critters get the jump on you in initiative, they each take a 5' step and start working their way around the pool of water towards you.
It's now your turn. Give me your actions in any order, and I'll adjudicate what happens with your actions coming in the below order. For any movement, just let me know where you move to via the coordinates. Neither of those Knowledge rolls provides even a glimmer of information on these critters.
Round 1
Misunderstood - Moved
Melon <--- Here now
Dylara
Lizzy
Olaf
Aldrea
Round 2
Misunderstood
Hahaha, you got the jump on me. I posted the link from my phone where I uploaded the file, and then jumped on the computer to do some writeup! Just let me know where Melon heads this round, and I'll have her placed for the Round 2 map.

Before Dylara gives Melon an order she draws her composite longbow, and shoots an arrow at one of the creatures (J3).
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"Melon, attack that one!" Dylara then orders her feathered friend, and points out which of the creatures to attack (J3 again).
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 4 = 27 Auto success (DC 10 for known tricks), but figured I'd roll anyway.

![]() |

Melon's not on the map, but she's close to Dylara and a roc can move 80 feet while flying. So that should do to reach the creature.
Melon flies past Dylara and her companions and lands directly in front of the creature Dylara shot her arrow at. She opens her beak and attempts to bite the creature.
Bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Grymp |

Dylara fires at the creature on the right and the arrow flies true, striking it well.
Melon follows that up and gives the same creature a devastating bite.
Left = unharmed
Right = 11

either GM or i can bot Olaf. She's busy with masters project that it seems she fell a bit behind on

Grymp |

Her call. It's finally Olaf's time to shine though! Although he shined in the balancing competition already.

if they are within 30ft...
Olaf lifts his great sword, yelling in fury as he charges the yet unharmed creature
Charge: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Dice roller hates me...

Grymp |

Because of the obstruction in the middle, Olaf couldn't charge, or even move and attack. Just let me know where Olaf wants to end the turn.
Lizzy's song goes off!
Ok, I lied. Not near my computer to update the map, but I think we're ok.
Round 2
The creature on the left comes 5' forward, maybe towards Olaf depending on where he is.
The creature on he left attempts to strike Melon.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Miss
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 Miss
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Round 2
Misunderstood - Acted
Melon <--- Here now
Dylara
Lizzy [Singing]
Olaf
Aldrea [Aiming]
Round 3
Misunderstood
Left = unharmed
Right = 11

cant see map. At hopsital. So no pc access. Sorry...
-Posted with Wayfinder

Grymp |

Ahhh, ok!
Well he could easily have moved in round 1 to where he can charge, or move and attack in round 2, most likely against the unharmed critter on the left.

![]() |

She grins and pulls the trigger. Shooting the creature that is unharmed
KRAK-OOOM
Blowing the creature into little giblits!
Boom!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Confirm: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Damage: 4d12 + 16 ⇒ (7, 1, 5, 7) + 16 = 36

![]() |

Was waiting for the others to post to see whats going on but ok.
Olaf charges the anharmed creature with a vurious roar!
Raaaaaaarrrww
Attack!: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11

Grymp |

Olaf gets off a great hit against the creature, but it is still standing, however not for long.
Aldrea's shot completely obliterates the creature, leaving barely enough for a lobster appetizer.
The one on the left is G O N E!!

![]() |

Melon continues to attack the creature in front of here, going all-out this time.
Talon 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Talon 2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

![]() |

Dylara shoots another arrow at the creature Melon's attacking, though aiming is a bit more difficult with Melon in front of the creature.
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 4 = 15 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Grymp |

Melon's second attack, as well as Dylara continue to pummel the strange creature.
It appears neither attack accounted for the Bardsong in damage? I'll add it in. Still waiting in Lizzy's round 2 action.
Left = 47
Right = 21

When Aldrea shot the creature on the left, it went into a death spasm and took attacks on Olaf:
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Miss
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Hit!
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Olaf, please make a Fortitude save.

round 3 action
Aldrea will calmly reload her musket with powder and bullet. Not wanting to use an expensive catridge on a creature that will die soon anyway
-Posted with Wayfinder

Grymp |

In round 3 the creature on the right attacks Melon only once.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Miss
Heal check:
The one in the right is staggered.

Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Posting my next round action so long to keep the ball rolling.
With the explosion of the creature infront of him, Olaf turns towards the second creature and charges it.
Attack!: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
Really....a 1 ....

Grymp |

Olaf STR Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1 no mechanical effect
Left = 47
Right = 22
Olaf - 3 more saves

![]() |

I always forget to add bardic performances >.<
Melon attacks the creature again, but her aim's incredibly messy.
Talon 1: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8 Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
Talon 2: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5 Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
Bite: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 1 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5

![]() |

Dylara tries to instruct Melon: "No, no, no! Melon, try to hit the target!"
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 4 + 1 = 10 Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10
She then shoots an arrow that somehow ends up in the river instead. "Oops..."

Grymp |

As Olaf and Melon smash their attacks into the second creature it too goes into a death spasm, against (1=Olaf, 2=Melon).
Who: 1d2 ⇒ 2 Melon!
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Miss
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Hit!
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Combat Over
Ok, Melon give me 4 Fort saves
Olaf, you need 3 more.

![]() |

Fort save 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Fort save 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Fort save 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Ha, thing never stand chance! But it do make Olaf feel funny...

Grymp |

As soon as you make the first one, you can feel your system cleanse itself of the poison. Still down 1 STR, but that doesn't have any mechanical effect.

Grymp |

Melon takes STR damage:
DMG: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
That will give a -2 to all STR based items.
As an aside, those were reefclaws, in case anyone cares.

Grymp |

Climbing down from the besieged platform is a middle aged human man, "thank the gods you arrived when you did. Those vindictive acolytes were going to sacrifice me and my two children to those horrible creatures. Is it safe for me to have them come down now?"

![]() |

Olaf sits down and cleans his sword. This talking business is not his thing, and he tends to listen better if his hands are busy. And he won't as easily put his foot in his mouth.

Grymp |

The man answers, "I am Josef, and these are my daughters, Niana and Frelinda. My wife, Redelia, a pirate fo some reknown apparently cheated the Besmarans out of some treasure, or so they said. But she has left the city, and these two acolytes determined to sacrifice me and my daughters recompense for Redelia's debt. Unfortunately for them, the creatures got out of hand and slaughtered them instead, while we ran up the steps and hid. I had thought we too would die, until you four arrived and saved us."
As you look around you find the following:

![]() |

She leisurely walks up the stairs when she finished reloading
Great. Saved. Yey, dance a happy dance. Okay, back to business. What or who else is in there? Or were these the last ones?
