Eamch springs straight up, drawing his feet under him to avoid the chain aimed at his ankles. With quick flicks, he strikes out at the drow at the top of his leap, spinning in the air to deliver even more strikes.

Once again, the rider twists the saddle, trying to avoid the blow using his mount. Ride: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33 He is able to avoid the first attack, but falls prey to the second one, as the sword bite deep into his back, and the evil magic is unleashed, SR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 however, the drow innate immunity prevents any magical damage, which accounts for almost nothing, since Gargamal, don’t let the chance escape, shooting the rider once more.
The drow falls, as the arrow pierces deep in his shoulder.
The enemy facing Eamch tries to use the same tactic as before, using his mount to avoid the attack. Ride: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21, but one of the attacks hit the rider, as an arrow from Taurven strikes from afar.
Eamch hit one of the attacks, and Taurven hits with the arrow.

The swords flares with divine light and divine purpose as the black foul smelling blood pours from the huge gap, the sword created.
The demon yells in pain and rage, it’s eyes flaring with dark, evil flame, but while it is focused on Karla, Gargamal uses the opportunity to send two deadly arrows flying. It strikes precisely where the sword left its path in the demon body.

@Taurven
The second elf, the one you were targeting with Eamch is still alive, and so are the lizards, waiting patiently in the cavern.
@Gargamal
With no need for illumination, since the spell is still working, the elf sets of the explore the rest of the place.
Following the natural walls of the cave, he finds what large cave room.
Strangely the room contains only a glowing gray archway, which he deduces is the portal mentioned in the dead drow letter, and the one they are using to raid the surface.
A careful inspection of the room, however revels near the glowing archway a 10 foot-high ledge. Hidden there another demon looking like the same you just killed in the other room.
Gargamal |
Quietly, the ranger backs out of the room and returns to his friends.
"We have a problem. Another Vrock Demon is guarding what could only be the portal the Drow's note spoke of. We will need to strike fast and hard."
DM Aku |
Gargamal, sorry, my mind is full of other things today.
The second demon is probably a summoned creature. That the first one summoned. If that's the case, you know it only last some hours...
Or maybe the first one was the summoned one, which makes the one hidden even more dangerous, because if you take too long to act, he may summon other.
Gargamal |
Int roll: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Well that was a bit of a waste..lol
Gargamal explains to the others the possibility of this Vrock having been summoned, and that if they wait it might return to the hell that spawn it...but if the dead one was the summoned creature, then this one might summon another one and then they will have to fight 2 of them.
"So the choice is wait to see if this one disappears, and chance it is not the original and it summons another of its kind, or attack it now and not have to worry about it summoning another demon. What do you all think?"
Gargamal |
"The only thing that I know that will harm the creature is goodness. If Karla can enchant our weapons with goodness, then maybe we could use that against it!"
Taurven Wess |
"We have a survivor among the drow." Taurven tells the others. "I was just going to finish him, but maybe we want to try to question him."
Taurven shrugs. "I doubt we'll get any good out of it, but now may be the only time we have the luxury of taking prisoners."
Karla Teg |
"I don't care much for Drow blabber... Now, about those weapons. Absolutely! If you want to avoid tickling the demon, I know a few prayers that could help. I can help with one weapon, but if you protect me while I pray, I may be able to help with more, even little needles like the one you use..."
I have Bless Weapon ready, and can prepare either Align Weapon, or Communal Align Weapon.
Karla Teg |
As the others nod in approval, Karla finds a nook and prays to Torm for support in her fight against the Drow threat.
Once she's done, she walks over to the group: "Bring your weapons! Remember, we won't have much time though. The less weapons I bless, the longer it will last. Let's start with your needles and toothpicks!"
Gargamal |
If you place the spell on my bow, will it add its goodness to every arrow I fire, or do you need to cast it on the arrows themselves?
Karla Teg |
Align weapon makes a weapon chaotic, evil, good, or lawful, as you choose. A weapon that is aligned can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures. This spell has no effect on a weapon that already has an alignment.
You can't cast this spell on a natural weapon, such as an unarmed strike. When you make a weapon chaotic, evil, good, or lawful, align weapon is a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful spell, respectively.
Communal:
This spell functions as align weapon, except you divide the duration in 1-minute increments between any number of touched weapons. Every group of up to 50 projectiles (which must be together at the time of casting) counts as one weapon for the purpose of dividing the spell's duration.
So I would guess I should place it on arrows. Though perhaps we can mix some arrows with some shurikens and save some duration?
Gargamal |
That sounds good to me...we can split up the 30 arrows between me and whoever else is using a bow.
Karla Teg |
"So I have 30 arrows right here... 20 shurikens; that's right, hold them like this, and stand beside Gargamal. Taurven? Your toothpick here. That's right. Now my father's sword... And we'll be good for 3 minutes. Let's make them count!"
She takes a deep breath and lets silence settle in the cave and within her, then whispers: "Furious Might, may thy Gauntlet ever stop Oppression and Malignance. Recognize the tools your faithful worshipper has placed before you. Grant them a shard of Your grace, that we can vanquish the evil in this cave."
Her steel grey eyes open, and she smirks a disturbing grin: "Let's go kill some demon. Remember I don't run as fast as you. Leave me some!"
Gargamal |
Silently, Gargamal moves forward and attempts to take the demon by surprise.
