The carrion angel was not inspired by the angel of rot, but instead by the basic idea of a fallen angel but with undeath as the theme instead of fiend. It's not all that unusual an idea, undead angels (or undead demons, for that matter). They pop up now and then.

EDIT: ALSO thanks for the kind words! This was a really fun adventure to write, and being able to do the ENTIRE Adventure Path was a fun and rewarding challenge, especially given it's a topic I've been itching to have Wes write for ages until he left the company and that itch spread to me like ringworm. Thanks, Wes! You're the best!

Also that final form for the final boss *chefs kiss*, one look at that art and my nightmare engine was fuelled up for weeks!

Wow, Celestials and Fiends can become undead? I wonder if other beings of the Multiverse can as well? I would love to see some Necromentals! Heh! ^^

Liberty's Edge

When there was the Create a monster contest with the Hell theme, I considered creating an undead made from discarded fragments of Celestial nature that Devils of the fallen Celestial type left behind.

Not a nice entity for either Fiends or Celestials to meet.

Anything alive can become undead.

Now that should be a quote for the next Geb based adventure path.

Just finished reading the Adventure and I agree the art is spectacular throughout. I am curious if the background art which appears to be a landscape spread of the castle exterior used as the border art for each two page spread is either available or will me made available. The castle is so massive that I would love to see that art not only for its beauty, but also to help contextualize the castle exterior.

We generally don't make the artwork in adventures available in that manner.
