Peafoul Stance, monastic weaponry, and monk abilities

Does monastic weaponry prevent me from combining my monk abilities with my monk sword, even though I'm using my monk sword?

Can you provide examples that would NOT fall under "You can use melee monk weapons with any of your monk feats or monk abilities that normally require unarmed attacks, though not if the feat or ability requires you to use a single specific type of attack, such as Crane Stance."

edit: I swear it didn't say Peafoul (sic) Stance in the title when I wrote that. Anyway, Peafowl Stance says "While in this stance, the only Strikes you can make..." so anything that's not a Strike is fair game. Flurry of Blows and other abilities that require "an unarmed Strike" instead of a specific attack (like Crane Stance) is fair game because with Monastic Weaponry you can make your monk sword Strikes with Flurry of Blows and other abilities that require unarmed attacks. Anything that modifies Strikes, like Stunning Blows, is fair game. Did I miss anything?

I feel like its pretty cut and dry.
Peafowl stance does not ask for any specific attack, just that it needs to be a strike with a sword with the monk trait that you are currently wielding one handed.

Monastic Weaponry states that you can strike with a weapon instead of performing an unarmed strike, but that does only apply as long as it's asking for a general unarmed strike, like in Flurry of Blows. But this doesn't override the restriction where stances limit you to a specific unarmed attack.

So you can absolutely make one inch punch with a sword, but you couldn't use the sword in place of the Falling Stones attack.

Peafowl Stance requires Monastic Weaponry. Why would they be incompatible ?

Monastic Weaponry says "You can use melee monk weapons with any of your monk feats or monk abilities that normally require unarmed attacks, though not if the feat or ability requires you to use a single specific type of attack, such as Crane Stance."

Peafowl Stance demands you make only monk sword attacks.

Ergo, it looks as though you cannot use monk abilities with your single specific type of attack.

That's what I was thinking.

But yeah, it didn't pass the TBTBT sniff test, hence this thread.

It doesn't say that you can only make "Monk Sword Attacks," though! It says " While in this stance, the only Strikes you can make are melee Strikes with the required sword," so they just have to be melee strikes with the sword, not a specific kind of named attack or anything.By my reading, it is fairly permissive of even making other special named melee strikes as long as they are made with the sword.

Not the way I interpreted it initially, but that would make more sense! XD

In the text you quote, "the feat or ability" refers to "your monk feats or monk abilities that normally require unarmed attacks".

Since Peafowl Stance does not require unarmed attacks, the text you bolded does not apply.

So all works well.
