I just started looking through the Gen Con event catalog to see the PFS games for this year and I noticed a MAJOR change. Historically there have been 3 time slots per day, 8am, 2pm, and 8pm, and each game lats up to 5 hours. However, now there are 4 slots per day, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm, and the games are only 3 hours long.
With 5 hour durations, we sometimes have sessions where we have to cut corners and rush just to finish so that they can clear the room and prepare for the next time slot's events. With only 3 hours to complete the scenario, I fear the GMs are going to have to rush us in every game, or we just won't be able to complete the scenarios.
This is extremely disappointing.

Maybe they're only running the new, shorter scenarios...which would be equally disappointing, albeit in a different way.
Or maybe it's (also) to align with SFS time slots, with its shorter scenarios. Hmm.
I imagine a special would require two slots then, which might help the time pressure those sometimes have.

Being unable to fit the longer, older scenarios (including both 1st editions) is quite sad, but this change actually gives GMs more time per slot relative to the length of the new adventures. Which is important, because some of the SF2 GMs got really burnt out last year, especially when dealing with bathroom and meal breaks.
