So the Ancestry Feat in question gives you Training in Crafting, which would ordinarily be fine if it wasn't exclusive to the Izalguun Heritage that also gives you Training in Crafting. This seems a bit odd, since in effect this Ancestry Feat is just giving you Electrical Engineer, which is probably a fine skill feat but I don't think it's good enough to be the only benefit you get from an exclusive ancestry feat.

So first, take the scientist background that gives you crafting and a Lore skill related to your field of research, and you gain the Assurance skill feat. That gets you 2 free skills of your choice from your heritage and ancestral feat + Quick Repair, and Electrical Engineering.
Crafting
Lore skill related to your field of research
Assurance
Quick Repair
Electrical engineering
2 skills of your choice.
That's a great list for a character that wants to be an expert with tech.

When you get a redundant skill training you can pick another skill. Though that still sounds like a mistake.
Ya, that's what I'm saying! The end result is you just get a different skill training, but if that was the intent why not just say that? It genuinely feels like somewhere along the line someone forgot that the required heritage already gave you crafting training.

Could be worse. It could be the Kobold: Snare Setter Ancestry feat.
Prerequisites: trained in Crafting
... You gain the trained proficiency in Crafting. If you were already trained in Crafting, you instead become trained in a skill of your choice.
Granted, it is only slightly worse. But the redundancy being written into the same feat rather than being split between the Heritage and the feat makes it a bit more astonishing that it got past editing review for both the Legacy printing and the Remaster.

I guess they just could not think of another Skill option that would fit the ore and Feat requirements?
Heritage:
"you understand the ancient technology that you grew up with"
Ancestry Feat:
"As one of the izalguuns who created the advanced technology of Izalraan, you have a deep understanding of engineering practices."
What other Skill could fit that lore? Computers would be my closest guess, but that feels like a thematic longshot.
At the same time both needed to give you Crafting, so you met the reqirements of the Skill Feats they grant.
The "training in a Skill of your choice" Fallback make sure you don't lose anything.
