Wild Heart Martial Discipline Public Playtest for Pathfinder 1e!

Homebrew and House Rules

Path of War Expanded: Wild Heart
It is believed by some that within the heart of each mortal lies a slumbering beast. These predatory instincts and violent urges are what allowed mortals to survive in the primordial world until they discovered civilization. While civilization caused these beasts to slumber, some were able to tap into their savage inner nature and assume some of its abilities.

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the public playtest for the Wild Heart martial discipline! Wild Heart is a full redux of the never released Chimera Soul discipline and so much more, a martial discipline focused around using natural weapons and shifting to adapt to situations in combat. It has a new unique mechanic called Atavism, which triggers and grants unique effects when they initiate maneuvers or stances that grant them natural attacks, senses, or natural armor they already possess from another source. The discipline also provides synergy with shifting feats and shapechangers. The playtest is slated to end May 2nd!

Inside this playtest you will find:

  • - The Wild Heart Martial Discipline
  • - A brand new martial tradition- The Adherents of the Mark
  • - New Style Feats for the Wild Heart discipline and several hybrid feats designed to connect it to other disciplines
  • - Title and New Dao veil associated with the discipline- The Wild and Wilding Mantle, granting users a chance at akashic power (using akashic magic system originally from Dreamscarred Press)
  • - New class archetypes and options focused around the idea of adapting to overcome difficulties or forcing evolution.
  • - And Much More!

Go take a look!

Due to some issues with the playtest doc, had to create a new one. Here is the new link for the non-mobile version.

Wild Heart Week 3 Updates and Changes

Hello everyone! Welcome to the end of week 3 of this playtest, I have received more support than I anticipated (there was over 100 recommendations in a single day at one point) and I appreciate all the support!

The following updates and changes have been made this week:

  • - Clarifying edits have been made across the board to make things make sense
  • - Multiple changes made to prerequisites of maneuvers and feats to balance them out
  • - Several Tables in the document have been updated for uniformity
  • - Effects of Wilding Mantle and Lashing Tail veils edited for clarity.

-Wild Heart Week 4 Update-

Hello everyone! The Wild Heart Martial Discipline Public Playtest has completed its 4th week and is moving on to its 5th. The playtest is set to end May 2nd.

This has been an amazing playtest and I appreciate all the interest that has been shown. Tweaks and small edits continue to be made, so if you see something you think needs addressing be sure to let me know!

-Wild Heart Week 5 Update-
And so week 5 draws to a close and we move towards the last week of the playtest! Reminder that the end of the playtest is 02 May, though like my previous playtests the doc will remain up and active until the book is released on DriveThruRPG.

This time we have some new content, a new veil: Sigil of Ablation! A Force and Shatter descriptor veil that provides a bonus to the veilweaver's AC that also applies to incorporeal touch attacks can be divided as you wish between an Armor or Natural Armor bonus. It can also be shattered to double the bonus to AC against a critical threat, and while shattered it can damage enemies who attempt to strike you with unarmed strikes or natural attacks!

-Wild Heart Public Playtest Closeout-
Hello everyone and welcome to the final official day of the Wild Heart Martial Discipline public playtest!

Its been an interesting ride and I appreciate all the interest that has been show to this project. A final edit has been made, which is to allow initiators to choose not to benefit from the Atavism effects of Wild Heart Maneuvers.

As with my previous playtests, the document will remain open and live until it is released on DriveThruRPG. My next project slated to be published is Psikasha Expanded: Intrusive Thoughts hopefully in June/July 2026, and my next playtest is going to be Expanded Mythic Options: Paths of Akasha and War (Playtest from 05JUL-15AUG26).

See you next time!
