The celestial event that Inizkar brings the PCs in to observe initially, I was wondering if this gets detailed more at all.
I am preparing to run the adventure right now and own all three parts. I am combing through the PDFs trying to see if the celestial event is relevant to anything in the main story or even gets detailed more somewhere in the adventure, or if it's just an excuse to bring the PCs together and gets quickly forgotten about.
My players understand that the main focus of the adventure will of course be fighting vampires, but since the hook is that they should be interested in astronomy, some of them have made characters who are particularly interested in the celestial event.
For example, we're big fans of magical girl shows, and one of them saw this as a perfect opportunity to take the Starlight Sentinel dedication as they could maybe get powers from the celestial event.
I have no problem making a bunch of lore about the celestial event if the adventure itself has none, but I don't want to make a bunch of lore and then run into something late in the adventure which conflicts with what I made.
Thanks!

The celestial event that Inzikar was set to observe doesn't come up again later in the adventure. As you identified, it's merely the framing device to bring the group together.
For a little background on my decision to go with this event as the framing device, I chose a celestial event because I knew I was going to cast shadows into the sky. As a resident of the PNW, thick clouds obscure eclipses, meteor showers, and other celestial events more often than not. So, picking that was kind of a chuckle of familiarity.
