Armor: Reed Armor (Shirt, Skirt, and Suit)
Description:
River reeds are dried and split, then woven into a net shirt, hoop skirt, or suit. On the outer areas of less movement more durable reeds like split bamboo are lashed onto the netting. This creates a very light but bulky form of primitive armor made from humble materials. This form of simplistic armor has been supplanted by more durable and less flammable materials. Sometimes people go back to these primitive armors for their light weight, flexibility, and low cost.
As a garment reed armor does not require armor proficiency to wear but it occupies the armor body slot. Armor penalties apply as usual. Reed armor requires 5 rounds to don or doff, and 3 rounds hastily with armor check values one worse than usual. A wearer's own natural armor may exceed the protection offered by this humble weave and lashing. This armor may be modified by special cloths (but not woods). It may also receive alchemical treatments to resist fire and remove the circumstance penalty.
