Video Games

So most threads are about a particular game and peter out after a few or a dozen posts, including my own.

So I thought it would be nice if there was a spot where you can talk about games in general, what are you currently playing? What's your favorite game you played last year? What game are you excited for? Does your cat sleep on the keyboard? All relevant.

I personally have been playing Assassins Creed Valhalla (for the a viking) and have been getting back into Expedition 33 since they added the free expansion, which is pretty out there, even for Expedition 33 standards.

Blue Prince- I hate puzzle games but I love Blue Prince. That said it is just as easy to get burnt out on it as it is to burn 4 hours playing it.

One game I've been playing recently is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, I got it pretty cheap with all the DLCs.

It's a pretty fun viking game! Long as f*#$, but fun.

It's pretty interesting because right before I started it I'd also started listening to a bunch of history podcasts diving into the Ragnarson invasion of Britain (which the game is loosely based on) so it's pretty fun recognizing the names and places.

Games I plan on actually playing this year are only Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3.

I've been digging into a few games this year.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is really fun, with buckets of fantasy pirate flavour.

Dredge: A relaxing fishing game, with an undercurrent of lovecraftian horror that runs through it to add some tension.

Replaying L.A. Noire, just because I've been on a bit of a detective game kick and Steam had it on sale for like $5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Dredge is pretty fun! Not too far into it yet.

I finished the main story of Assassins Creed Valhalla, overall it is very fun, but entirely too long but not as obnoxiously long as Odyssey. That said, I did like the ending, even though I picked up on it fairly early on.

Overall it was a fun game and I loved the historical name drops as a history nerd.

I recommend it, but only if you like kinda grindy open worlds.

If you're a fan of Assassins Creed games then I do not recommend as that whole part of the game made absolutely zero sense and could have easily been excised completely from the game.

New game: Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 (on Game Pass).

I've also gotten the first season of Fallout on DVD, I'm two episodes in and so far I LOVE the fan service, not just the main stuff like power armor and ghouls and all that but the tiny environmental details like the wind blowing through the container sounds or the various things littering the ground like it would in the game.

That said, I'm only 2 episodes in so no spoilers! I like it so far though.
