With this house rule, rather than receiving four attribute boosts every five levels, you earn a free attribute boost at 1st level and every level thereafter. Attributes are capped to prevent over-investing into a single attribute. Additionally, it now takes two boosts to raise an attribute by 1 starting at +3, rather than at +4.
In addition to offering greater flexibility for players to build and develop their characters how they want, this house rule makes low-level player characters slightly more powerful.

This is brilliant. I think this implementation makes the gradual ability boost variant even smoother by letting the player upgrade their character's attributes at every level, and the change to the partial boost threshold compensates neatly for the added number of attribute boosts. Although this would cause characters to boost their key attribute to a higher value sooner than normal, that is also a feature of the original variant, and the above delays that slightly from level 7 to level 8 compared to the original as well. Well done on this!
