Newb Question about SF 1e Pregen Characters

Greetings,
I'm new to both Starfinder and Organzied Play. I'm trying to understand the character creation and progression rules by reading the core and by reverse engineering the Iseph and Obozaya pregen characters. I've been able to figure out where most of the bonuses and abilities come from, but a few things have me stumped. Hoping someone can help me understand. I'm just trying to understand creation/progression, so if the answer is "pregen is broken", that's ok.

#1 Iseph Languages:
- All pregen levels say he has Common & Shirren (+1 language for Int)
- Lvl 8 he has Culture +16 (8 ranks).
Q: Per Core p139, wouldn't he get an extra language for each rank?

#2 Iseph Operative's Edge:
- Most of Iseph's skill bonuses map out to include the edge. Ex. Lvl 1 Athletics +6 is from +1 Str, +1 Rank, +3 for trained class skill, +1 Operative's Edge.
- However, he gets Acrobatics and Stealth from his Ghost specialization and they don't seem to include the edge. Ex. Lvl 1 Acrobatics +11 is from +4 Dex, +1 specialization rank, +3 trained class skill, +3 skill focus.
Q: Why wouldn't he also get his edge, making Acrobatics +12?

#3 Obozaya's Ability Scores:
- At 5th level, you can increase four of six ability scores
- At level 8, five of Obo's scores are higher than at level 4. All her abilities except Wisdom are +2
Q: How did she up five scores?

#4 Obozaya's Athletics at lvl 1:
- She has Athletics +6. She's wearing Cerimonal Plate which has Armor penalty -3.
- I think it should be Athletics +5 based on +3 Str, +1 Rank, +3 trained class skill, -2 armor penalty (reduced by one for Vesk Armor Savant)
Q: What am I missing?

#5 Obozaya's Acrobatics at lvl 4:
- Obo only has 12 skill ranks at lvl 4. She needs to put 3 ranks into Athletics and 4 ranks each in Intimidate and Survival for those skills to be right. That leaves 1 rank for Acrobatics
- Her Athletics skill has the right armor penalty and bonus at lvl 4
- She has Acrobatics +6. She's wearing Lashunta Ringwear II, with Armor penalty -2
Q: Why is it not Acrobatics +5, based on +3 Dex, +1 Rank, +3 trained class skill, -1 armor penalty (reduced by one for Vesk Armor Savant)?

#6 Obozaya's Athletics at lvl 8:
- Obo is wearing Vesk Overplate II (penalty -3)
- She has Athletics +14
- Her Acrobatics has the right armor penalty and bonus at lvl 8
Q: Why is it not Athletics +13, based on +4 Str, +8 Rank, +3 trained class skill, -2 armor penalty (reduced by one for Vesk Armor Savant)?

Strange that Obo's skill problems move around from level to level. If Vesk Armored Advantage reduces the penalty by 2 instead of 1, then her skills work, but that's not what core p.52 says.

Q1: Probably an error; languages tend to be an afterthought with player characters too. Saving page space could also be a reason. Or, Iseph just doesn't care.

Q2: They're both insight bonuses so they don't stack. ("When multiple bonuses apply...", CRB p.266)

Q3: Personal Upgrade (ability crystal/synaptic accelerator/synergizing symbiote, CRB p.212). Super important thing to remember you should always get for yourself as soon as you can afford to, even if the pregens forget.

Q4-6: Obo's Athletics gets +1 from the Mercenary theme (CRB p.32).

In general, pregens are not always without error and we're mostly reconciled to that fact (also because it doesn't really matter that much in practice). But most of the SF1 ones at least fall into the category of "suboptimal choices" rather than flat-out wrong.

Q2 - I completely missed that aspect of bonuses. So at lvl 11 when the operative edge changes to +4 insight bonus, he would start counting that INSTEAD of the skill focus (+3 insight bonus). Makes sense.

Obo - I even wrote down the Mercenary bonus and forgot to count it, which fixes all her stats.
