The invidiak (both pre-master and remaster) has an exception to their resistance for vitality damage despite being a living not-undead creature. Is this intended or did it slip through the editing process?

I believe it was intended, because of legacy Holy Castigation and abilities like it

legacy Holy Castigation wrote:
You combine holy energy with positive energy to damage demons, devils, and their evil ilk. Heal spells you cast damage fiends as though they were undead.

Holy Castigation has a different effect now

Your deity’s grace doesn’t extend to your sworn enemies. When you cast a harm or heal spell, you can add your holy or unholy trait to it. If you do, the spell deals damage to creatures with the opposing trait, even if it wouldn’t normally damage them. The spell deals spirit damage when used this way. For example, if you are holy, you could add the holy trait to a heal spell and deal spirit damage to a fiend that has the unholy trait.

Wait? When was Indivak reprinted?

It is from Bestiary 2 which is known to sport quite a few issues that never saw erratas.

Considering it is an incorporeal resistance I would expect that the intention is for it to share the same as the Animate Dream, Or atleast list negative in addition to positive if it was because of skills like Holy Castigation.

Spore War volume 2 has the remastered Invidiak

Then yeah I really can't imagine it is intended rather than they just used the old resistances and put Vitality in its stead.

After all its a living creature and effects that did positive damage to fiends now deal spirit damage in its stead.

my guess is it is an artifact from copying the resistances for other incorporeal creatures, which are mostly undead.

No counting unique creatures, AoN lists 76 incorporeal creatures. Of that, only 24 aren't undead. If we take out spirits, it drops to 5. Most of the spirits also have positive or vitality bypassing their resistance.

Some exceptions: Phantom Beast and Phantom Knight list spirit instead. Tumblak, a Sahkil (pre-remaster), only lists force/ghost touch. Glimnal (positive creature) lists negative instead, as does animated dream.
