Hey everyone, long time pbp'er here.
I know this is a lodge for pbp-ing but is anyone interested in Play by Discord (pbd) games? There's an older PFS2e special about to be run by pbd in the other online lodges and I'm wondering if you all are interested in taking part/if I'm allowed to talk about games run in other lodges here.
Can't really tell you about the "Rules" on this.
What I can fairly confidently point out is that looking at the Event Listing document for the recent Gamesday XIV event that was publicized here shows that it contained more PbD games than PbP games in my estimation.I'd guess that means that there will be some that are interested.
If it's allowed.

I'll say that my personal preference is that this recruitment lodge not fill up with ads for PbD games. If one likes PbD, more power to you, they're not for me. One can go to any of the Discord communities and find PbD games being listed. I would rather see a recruitment post here and know before clicking that it is for these forums.

I refuse to play on Discord because I really dislike the user interface. I use it when I must.
That said, I like that there is a Pathfinder/Discord community. The more folk playing, the more likely we are to continue to have players/GMs.
I've thought about suggesting having a separate forum for recruiting for PbD, but, there are likely players who, while preferring one over the other, are willing to play in either.
Perhaps, when recruiting for a game, we should have some kind of header that would help players.
Perhaps something like:
[System]|[Format]|[Name]
So, a recruitment title would look like: PF2 | PbD | Rise of the Goblin Horde
This would also let us know what system, since for some (myself included) specific systems are included/excluded.

This forum is, indeed, intended to include recruitment only for PbP on the forums.
We have a sister lodge on Discord (several actually) where that we are closely connected to, even including our multi-table specials having tables in both formats.
You can find the most prominent at Cayden's Keg.
You will no doubt have more luck recruiting there.

Cayden's Keg and Find the Path tend to be the more populous ones. But yes, I'd rather not see PbD games advertised here. Unlike the Apollo bot on Discord, you can't delete event ads past the 1 hour edit window.

My body is back in the US Pacific Time Zone but my brain is still in New Zeallipines time, so I'm sliding back into things gradually.

I do want to echo that I'd rather not see run-of-the-mill PbD games advertised here, but I think it would be beneficial to keep announcing larger events like conventions, since there's probably enough crossover. Or special events that might entice primarily-PbP players to put up with PbD for a really special game.
Also, just as a purely practical matter, since the PbD player pool is bigger than that of the PbP player pool, us PbP luddites will probably soon find ourselves shut out of many events if we don't remind them that we exist. We're already not-always informed of convention dates.

Well, I will respect the wishes of the majority and will not speak any further about the PbD convention.

Going back to an actual PbP event, does anyone know when Spring Outpost generally starts?
March IIRC.
