Hi all. I am using Pathbuilder 2e and, I think this is a new option but I am not sure if it was there before, being able to choose a mixed race heritage.
I am currently rolling up a Goblin but now I see I can choose Aiuvarin (Elf) or Dromaar (Orc) mixed race heritage.
I like the feature but I just want to make sure I am using official core rules and not something non-core as I want to play this character at a convention and possibly official Society play. I assume with the resent updates and such that this is a rule update.
Thank you for any replies.

In PF2E they are called "Ancestries." Yes you are using the official core rules correctly. For the official rules, see p74 of Player Core 1, but I'll try and summarize here.
You start with any ancestry (for example, Goblin), then for your Heritage choice you choose a second, different Ancestry (say, "Aluvarin" for Elf) instead of one of your heritage choices. You are basically getting low-light vision (if you don't already have it; Goblins would ignore this) + the ability to take feats from both ancestries later, in exchange for giving up your ancestry heritage choice, which is usually better than just low-light vision.
Pathbuilder says Aluvarin and Dromaar are common, but all other versatile ancestries are uncommon. Even for Elf and Orc, I'd check with your PFS GM and contacts to determine whether you can take them in a PFS game, as PFS rules can be more restrictive than official core rules. I believe there are separate PFS fora where you can get answers to those sorts of questions.

Those versatile heritages are noted standard for PFS on AoN. Being Common, they are freely available to any PFS character.

Currently, Aiuvarin and Drommar are the only allowed multi-ancestry heritages allowed in PFS, due to any of the others not having written up rules. Theoretically in the future, Paizo may release official rules for a Dwarven, Gnomish, or Kobold multi-ancestry, or the PFS team may come out with rules for things like that, but as of right now only aiuvarin and drommar are the only ones allowed.
