So I am GMing Kingmaker and one of my players is playing a witch of the wilding steward. I am trying to decide on a patron for them. I was considering Nyrissa, maybe the witch's familiar is a fragment of N?yrissa (kind of like Briar) and it searched someone out to try and help Nyrissa in one way or another. Maybe the patron is a subordinate or ally of Nyrissa's from before she started destroying kingdoms and while this being can't take action against Nyrissa directly they want the witch as an agent for their goal of freeing Nyrissa. I would probably have the witch start to feel some kind of mental tug as they get farther along the in exploring the lost lands and get further along in the story and they wouldn't find out too much about their patron until the appropriate time. I am slightly concerned about messing with such a core part of the story though so I am considering other options.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any beings in the pathfinder universe that would make a good witch of the wildings patron? Especially with this being a Kingmaker campaign I was thinking a fey being of some sort would be ideal but I am not super well versed in pathfinder lore yet. Also if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on the Nyrissa idea and implementing it well I would love to hear them.
