The cleric's emblazon armament feat says that anyone of the same faith can gain the benefit.
Does that mean I can skip the feat altogether and just have someone of the same faith inscribe the sacred etching for me?
It fades after a year, but free damage is free damage.

Well, technically yes.
But this is trivially easy for the GM to shut down too... Just have no NPCs who are able to do the emblazoning, or willing to give up their one and only emblazoning for a year for your benefit.
I could see this as working better for a plot hook of an unscrupulous shady character that is continually re-selling their emblazoning ability to different people to swindle them out of money.

A GM could have a mentor NPC bestow it upon their acolyte as they go out into the world, or warrior priest of Gorum might ask the blessing of a retired veteran before going into battle, or a rising star in the bank of Abadar might rent it from another.

Yeah, as quest reward, or compensation for a different character getting a Relic, or other such things like that - sure. It is rules legal.
Just don't be expecting to get it for nothing as stated in the title of the thread.

*In a snivelly pouty voice*
Any GM who doesn't give me what I want isn't roleplaying a real living breathing world. The ability to grant it, and people to grant it, clearly exist in the game world. Denying such is uh house rule!

Love it. Because from their perspective, most of the adventurers that buy the emblazoning and then go into the Abomination Vaults don't come out to complain. :)
The non-evil version of this is to have clerics set it up as a daily service, making it essentially a consumable. Which is probably not a bad idea as a money maker for the temple nor a bad idea as an avaiable service for your PCs, if it's priced right. If a PC wants the full year, that should be exorbitant (1000x daily rate?), under the logic that the cleric isn't just losing that income, she's losing the sales of all the other consumables those customers might buy while they're there for the emblazoning.
It could even be a recruitment tool. Join the cult of oogieboogie, you get a free 1-day emblazoning with your first 10gp donation. And as a bonus for the faith, the fact that the emblazoning doesn't stick unless the receiver is really of the faith of the temple means that nonbelievers can't pretend-join just to get the benefit.
