AP or 2e module Recommendations for a role-playing focused group

I'm starting a new 2e campaign for friends and family. I'm looking for good options for a game that is strong on the role playing/skill side of the game (no interest in dungeon crawls). I've heard Strength of Thousands could be a good option. Is that the case? Also open to modules that Paizo has published. Thanks!

I cannot praise SoT enough on this front! It really prioritizes non-combat solutions to problems, and you get to see characters develop overs the course of years.

Strong recommendation for Sky King's Tomb. Despite being entirely Darklands-based, it's got far more role-playing encounters than combats. There's also lots of adapting to different cultures, be it dwarven, fey, or hryngar.

You do have to like the Victory Point systems from the Gamemastery Guide, though, as it gets extensive use.

These are both excellent recommendations. Thank you. I read the first chapters of both and I can see my group getting excited about either. Now I can give them a choice.

Two of the players have just started university away from home (so this is a way for us to stay connected while they're away). It will be interesting to see if they want to lean into the university experience of SoT or do something different with Sky Kings.

Much appreciated!

It’s worth saying that SoT only has them as university students for two books and you only spend one of those on campus; most of this AP is spent as full-fledged staff traveling the setting.

I'm really strongly leaning towards Sky King's Tomb as our next AP because of the many and varied RP opportunities.
