Is it possible to use it in some way? It looks cool flavourwise but 5th level transformation spell at 13+ level is too weak. Even if you lizardfolk spellcaster with +0 str, you will have more chances to hit with your claws. Of course, dinosaur have more damage but does it matter with this chances to fail? And your AC in your original form will be higher too.
So what's the idea of this feat? How could I make it work?

Well, it works just fine. It does exactly what it says that it does.

It isn't as powerful as what a spellcaster could do with a spell slot at that level. Because it is an ancestry feat that can be picked up by any Iruxi character.

It almost certainly increases your size and reach. It possibly increases your movement speed. It might even increase your attack bonus, damage, or AC - and if it doesn't then you can continue to use your own higher values except maybe for the AC. There really isn't much downside to this.

Remember the note in the spell that says "If your unarmed attack modifier is higher, you can use it instead." If you had a higher bonus to hit with an unarmed attack, you use that, but get Big Dino Damage.
