Hi! I am planning to run my first campaign ever. In the setting of The Age of Lost Omens and the world of Golarion, what is a curse or a charm that can be attached to an object that would corrupt those exposed to it? I have only been playing DnD for three years now and have never run a game before, so I am brand new to this and want to do well/be accurate since I will have a very seasoned and knowledgable player in this campaign. Any and all advice welcome! Just please be nice because I'll cry.

I'd like some more information on what kind of curse you wish to put on your fellow adventurers.
Archives of Nethys holds some curses that could be attached to items, like Item Curses or Tempting Curses. Perhaps some of these would be sufficient?

There's various different options depending on what you're specifically after, so why additional details would be nice. For an option off the top of my head there's the Corruption Cassock which I am a massive fan of and fairly explicitly is designed to corrupt people (all be it in a fairly non-magical way), though it might be a bit high level fit what you're after and only works on divine characters.

That sounds exactly like what I am looking for! My idea is a wizard school that slowly exposes a select group of students to a corrupting force, like a cursed mask or something, that would corrupt them over time and slowly make them evil. Like I said before I am brand new to DnD and especially DMing, so it's overwhelming to try and navigate everything and where to look.

My idea is something like a wizard school that exposes select students to a corrupting force. This combined with progressive influence and radicalization, I guess. But I have a plot point where a wizard student that helps the party has to choose between helping the party take down the corrupt school or the power that corruption offers. Hopefully that all makes sense!

One thing to keep in mind is that something like this that's mostly a narrative devise to actually ask whether it actually needs specific stats. Sometimes, making something sit entirely within the role of narrative works perfectly fine (especially seeing it sounds like it'll mostly just be a thing NPCs are effected by for the vast majority of the campaign)

Drawing on your wizard school idea- I'm always going to pitch the Runelords as near-endless mcguffin generators. They are pretty quickly understandable (good for new players/GMs) but have a deep lore and are pretty tied to Golarion specifically (good for enfranchised players).
Perhaps seven scolls have been unearthed, promising a deeper understanding of magic to those willing to do whatever needs to be done...
I admit I'm not fully up on the New Thassilion lore, but I do know that the concept of Rune Magic is becoming less inherently sinister- a potential complication/salvation for those corrupted by old knowledge.

Well, Lissala, the Azlanti goddess of Runes was corrupted to Evil by the time of Thassilon's Runelords.
Maybe some old holy scriptures of hers could reproduce the corrupting process.
